Getting to Know your DVR
This quick start guide will help you to get your CCTV kit up and running as quickly as possible.
We suggest you connect up the kit to test the system and familiarise yourself with it before installing the
cameras in their permanent location.
Before installation please check you have all the kit contents listed below and read the following safe-
guards and warnings carefully.

Kit Contents: 1 x DVR • 4 x Video cameras (inc. cable and fixings) • 4 x 18m Video/power cables
• 2 x 12V𝌂2A Power adaptor • 1 x Mouse • 1 x HDMI cable • 1 x RJ45 Ethernet cable
Important Safeguards and Warnings
Do not place heavy objects on top of the DVR.
Do not let any liquids spill on the DVR.
Gently brush clean the DVR surfaces regularly. Before cleaning please switch off and
disconnect the power supply.
Do not disassemble or attempt to repair the DVR by yourself. If repair is necessary please
contact the reseller or a qualified specialist.
Make sure any outdoor electrical connections are adequately sealed / waterproofed
Environment
Ensure the DVR is installed in an appropriate temperature environment; min 0˚C, max 40˚C.
Avoid direct sunlight and install away from any direct heat source.
Do not install the DVR in a damp, smoky or dusty environment.
Install in a safe position where the DVR will not be damaged.
Ensure the DVR is installed in a stable work environment.
Install in a well ventilated and clean location.
Always use within the recommended input and output rating.

Connections
Camera connections:
1. Connect one of the PSUs (D) to the power splitter cable (E) connect this to the camera extension cables
(C), connect the BNC plugs on each extension cable [C] to one of the yellow Video In (BNC) ports
[1 on Fig. 1] on the rear of the DVR. 1.
2. Connect each of the extension cables [C] to the power socket and BNC plugs connected to a camera
of the power adaptor [D].
Peripheral connections:
3. For HD connections connect the HDMI cable (G) to the DVR and an HD TV/monitor alternatively you
can connect a display using a VGA cable (not supplied) to the VGA socket (3 on Fig. 1).

Connect the mouse
to the USB port on the bottom right of the front panel
[4 on Fig. 1]
or alternatively, if
it is more convenient, connect
to the upper USB 2.0 port of the two available marked USB 1 [5 on Fig. 1].
Connecting an optional USB backup storage device:
5. The DVR has a 1TB hard drive installed but you can connect an additional USB storage device for
additional backup or for transferring a recording. Connect the additional USB storage device to the
lower USB 2.0 port of the two marked USB 2 [6 on Fig. 1].
Connecting to your home network:
6. Plug the RJ45 Ethernet cable supplied [H] into the LAN port [7 on Fig. 1] on the DVR and the other end
into a spare port on your router or wireless access point.
Power connections:
7. When all other connections have been made plug the jack from the remaining PSU (D) in to the DC In
socket [8 on Fig. 1] on the back of the DVR. Plug the two PSUs into a convenient 13A mains socket and
switch on the sockets.

Once you’ve connected all the leads, turn on your DVR and you are ready to go, so just follow these simple
instructions to get your home security system up and running;
1. Connecting your DVR to your broadband router
Make sure the DVR is turned off, and if you haven’t
already done so, using the Ethernet cable provided, plug
one end into the LAN Port (7) on your DVR and connect
the other end into an available port on your broadband
router.
Turn on your DVR and display and the SCREEN 1
opposite will appear. Press “Next Page” using the mouse
and SCREEN 2 will appear.
2. Downloading the NPview App to your iOS or
Android phone
You can either scan the appropriate QR code from
below, using your phone, to take you straight to the
App or alternatively visit App Store or Google Play and
search for the NPview App.
• Open the App on your iOS or Android phone.
(if you have not already created your username, select
“Register” to create your unique login).
• Login using your username and password.

Scanning the S/N QR code from your DVR.
• On your phone select Device Manage (

• Click “Add device”
• Next to UMID: or Device ID: tap on then with
your phone scan the SN QR Code on display

NB: The ID number of your DVR will be displayed next to
UMID or Device ID when you have scanned the
code successfully. Check the settings below and leave
User ID: as admin, leave password blank (don’t enter
anything) select Multi ch and “4”
Click Save and the message “Add Success”will appear.
The App will return to the Device List and your
DVR ID number will be displayed in the list.
Click on your DVR number to view your cameras live.

because there is no network connection. Refer to the

Recording Settings -
The default recording mode is continuous mode for each
camera, which means that the cameras will record
continuously to the built-in hard drive. The capacity of the
hard drive is about thirty days and when the disk is full it
will overwrite the previous video starting from the
earliest recording.
General Settings - Date and Time:
Right click on the mouse to open “Quick Menu”, select
“Main Menu” then “General” set the System Time - date
and time and formats then press OK.
Alarm Set:
Allows you to enable the motion detect alarm which can
help you find when there is any change in image content
in your recordings caused by movement.
You can select motion detect on a single channel or all.
To set the alarm right click on the mouse to open “Quick
Menu”, select “Main Menu” then “Alarm” and then
“Alarm Set”.
To Setup Another Smartphone:
First install NPview app as described in Step 2 on page 4.
Right click on the mouse to open the “Quick Menu” on
the DVR, select “Guide” (to open Screen 1 as shown on
page 4 then click “Next Page” (to open Screen 2) and
follow Step 3 on page 4.
To Rename Channels:
In the “System Menu” open “GUI display” click on
“Channel Title Set” and rename your channels
e.g. Garage, Front Door etc.
Live View on Your TV:
The default screen shows a tiled view of all 4 channels live,
double click on a channel to view it full screen, double click
again to return to the default view.

Playback on Your TV:
Right click on the mouse to open “Quick Menu”, select “Playback”. Click on the Sync Mode (A) to playback
recordings of all channels at the same time. At the bottom of the screen recordings for the 4 channels (B)
are colour coded Green for standard recording and Red for recordings in which motion is detected. Click
in the Green or Red area to start playback. Click on 24hr, 2hr, 1hr or 30mi to expand the view of recordings
(C). Select day from calendar (D). Use control buttons (E) to Play, Pause, Stop etc.. Click on listings (F) to
select from a list of recordings.

Using your CCTV system
Live View on Your Smartphone:
Login to NPView on your smartphone the screen 1 below will appear. This default screen shows a tiled
view of all 4 channels live, double click on a channel to view it full screen, double click again to return to
the default view. If the live view does not appear and you only see blank screens tap on the menu symbol
top left. The menu (screen 2) will open, select “Device Manage”screen 3 will open, tap on the DVR icon to
select your device Screen 1 should now appear showing live channels.
Playback on Your Smartphone:
From Live View tap on the menu symbol top left. In the menu (screen 4) tap on “Ser
ver Video” a list of the 4
channels (screen 5) will appear, tick on the channel you want to see the recordings from, in “Event Type” you can
select the type of video you want to search for then tap on “Search”.
A list of available videos will appear (screen 6). Tap on the video you want to play, screen 7 will open.
