Operating Instructions
Inspection:
Before and after every use, check for and remove any debris that is on the inner diameter
of the clamp, the eye bolt thread, and the striking surface of the knob.
Applications:
The Close Quarter Clamp is designed to be used with the GFCP 12 IPS EF MARCO
22.5° Elbow.
Once the pipe has been placed inside the fitting:
1. Open the clamp and place it around the pipe and elbow lip. The clamp base will sit on the lower diameter of the pipe
and should touch the inside edge of the elbow *hub. The clamp tops and clamp knobs will hang loose.
2. While holding the clamp in place, swing one of the clamp top jaws over the elbow and lightly tighten the clamp knob
down by hand.
3. With one side lightly tightened, swing the other clamp top jaw over the pipe and lightly tighten the second clamp knob
by hand.
4. Now that the clamp is in the correct position, securely hand tighten the clamp knob that was lightly tightened first.
Ensure the inner diameter of both sides of the clamp are securely seated on the pipe and touching the inside edge of
the elbow *hub.
5. Securely hand tighten the second clamp knob and proceed with the fusion.
Warnings: Do Not use hand tools or power tools on this clamp. It should be tightened using hand strength only.
This clamp is not to be used as a re-rounding tool. If the pipe is found to be out of round, a re-rounding tool
should be used before inserting the pipe into the coupling.
*Elbow/Fitting Hub:
