Theaccesspointincludesamagneticwallmountwhichrequiressome
assembly.
1.Attachthetwomagneticwallmountstripstoyourwallusingtheincluded
screws,asshownbelow.
2.Pressthebackofyouraccess
pointfirmlyagainstthetwowallmounted
magneticstrips,withtheaccesspoint’sinthecorrectposition,upright
orientationasdisplayedabove.
Caution:Ensureyouraccesspointissecurelyattachedtothemagneticstrips.


accesspoint’ssi depanelusingaterminalemulationprogram(e.g.
HyperTerminal).

orbathroom.
3.Donotpullanyconnectedcablewithforce;carefullydisconnectitfromthe
accesspoint.
4.Handletheaccesspointwithcare.Accidentaldamagewillvoidthe
warrantyoftheaccesspoint.
5.Thedevicecontainssmallpartswhicharea
dangertosmallchildrenunder
3yearsofage.Pleasekeeptheaccesspointoutofreachofchildren.
6.Donotplacetheaccesspointonpaper,clothorotherflammablematerials.
Theaccesspointmaybecomehotduringuse.
7.Therearenouserserviceablepartsinsidethe
accesspoint.Ifyou
experienceproblemswiththeaccesspoint,contactyourdealerofpurchase
andaskforhelp.
8.Theaccesspointisanelectricaldeviceandassuch,ifitbecomeswetfor
anyreason,donotattempttotouchitwithoutswitchingthepowersupply
off.Contact
anexperiencedelectricaltechnicianforfurtherhelp.
9.Ifyousmellsomethingburningorseesmokecomingfromtheaccesspoint
orpoweradapter,disconnecttheaccesspointandpoweradapter

II. QuickSetup
Youraccesspointcanbeupandrunninginjustafewminutes.Thisquick
installationguidewillhelpyousetupyouraccesspointanddirectyoutothe
initialsettingsscreens.Followtheinstructionsinthechaptersbelow.

ConnecttheaccesspointtoacomputerviaEthernetcable.
2.
Connectthepoweradaptertotheaccesspoint’s12VDCportandplugthe
poweradapterintoapowersupplyusingtheincludedcable.
3.
Waitamomentfortheaccesspointtostartup.Theaccesspointisready
whentheLEDisblue.
4.
Setyourcomputer’sIPaddressto192.168.2.xwherexisanumberinthe
range3100.Ifyouareunsurehowtodothis,refertoSectionII2Basic
Settings.
Ensuretherearenootheractivenetworkconnectionsonyour
computer(disconnectWiFiconnectionsandEthernetcables).

Entertheaccesspoint’sdefaultIPaddress192.168.2.1intotheURLbarof
aWebbrowser.

username“admin”andthedefaultpassword“1234.”

Theinstructionsbelowwillhelpyoutoconfigurethesebasicsettingsofthe

Itisrecommendedthatyouconfigurethesesettingsbeforeusing
theaccesspoint.

Tochangetheaccesspoint’sLANIPaddress,goto“NetworkSettings”>
“LANsideIPAddress”andyouwillseethescreenbelow.
2.
EntertheIPaddresssettingsyouwishtouseforyouraccesspoint.You
canuseadynamic(DHCP)orstaticIPaddress,dependingonyournetwork
environment.Click“Apply”tosavethechangesandwaitafewmoments
fortheaccesspointtoreload.
Whenyouchangeyouraccesspoint’sIPaddress,youneedtouse
thenewIPaddresstoaccessthebrowserbasedconfiguration
interfaceinsteadofthedefaultIP
192.168.2.1.

TochangetheSSIDofyouraccesspoint’s2.4GHzwirelessnetwork(s),go
to“WirelessSettings”>“2.4GHz11bgn”>“Basic.”EnterthenewSSIDfor
your2.4GHzwirelessnetworkinthe“SSID1”fieldandclick“Apply.”
Toutilizemultiple2.4GHzSSIDs,openthedropdownmenu
labeled“EnableSSIDnumber”andselecthowmanySSIDsyou
require.ThenenteranewSSIDinthecorrespondingnumbered
fieldsbelowandclick“Apply.”

Toconfigurethesecurityofyouraccesspoint’s2.4GHzwireless
network(s),goto“WirelessSetting”>“2.4GHz11bgn”>“Security.”Select
an“AuthenticationMethod”andentera“PresharedKey”or“Encryption
Key”dependingonyourpreference,thenclick“Apply.”
IfusingmultipleSSIDs,specifywhichSSIDtoconfigureusingthe
“SSID”dropdownmenu.

5. Goto“WirelessSetting”>“5GHz11ac11an”andrepeatsteps3&4for
theaccesspoint’s5GHzwirelessnetwork.
6. Tochangetheadministratornameandpasswordforthebrowserbased
configurationinterface,goto“Management”>“Admin.”
7. Completethe“AdministratorName”and“AdministratorPassword”fields
andclick“Apply.”


Tosetthecorrecttimeforyouraccesspoint,goto“Management”>
“DateandTime.”

Setthecorrecttimeandtimezoneforyouraccesspointusingthedrop
downmenus.TheaccesspointalsosupportsNTP(NetworkTimeProtocol)
soalternativelyyoucanenter thehostnameorIPaddressofatimeserver.
Click“Apply”whenyouarefinished.
Youcanusethe“AcquireCurrentTimefromyourPC”buttonif
youwishtosettheaccesspointtothesametimeasyourPC.

II3. WiFiProtectedSetup(WPS)
WiFiProtectedSetup(WPS)isacomputingstandardthatattemptstoallow
easyestablishmentofsecurewirelesshomenetworkconnections.Createdby
theWiFiAllianceandintroducedin2007,thegoaloftheprotocolistoallow
homeuserswhoknowlittleofwirelesssecurityandmaybeintimidated
by
theavailablesecurityoptionstosetuptheencryptionmethodWPA2,aswell
asmakingiteasytoaddnewdevicestoanexistingnetworkwithoutentering
longpassphrases.
YoucanusetheWPSbuttontoestablishaconnectionbetweentheaccess
pointandaWPScompatiblewirelessdevice/client.
1. PressandholdtheWPS/Resetbuttononthesideoftheaccesspointfor
2seconds.
2.
Withintwominutes,activateWPSonyourWPScompatiblewireless
device.Pleasecheckthedocumentationforyourwirelessdevicefor
informationregardingitsWPSfunction.

Ifallgoeswell,thedeviceswillestablishaconnection.

Ifyouneedto,removethecapfromtheundersideoftheaccesspoint.
Thiscreatesextraspaceforyourcablestopassthrough.

Ifyouareusingarouter,thenconnectthepoweradaptertotheaccess
point’s12VDCportandplugthepoweradapterintoapowersupply.
3.
Ifyouareusingarouter,connectthepoweradaptertotheaccesspoint’s
12VDCportandplugthepoweradapterintoapowersupply.
Donotusethepoweradapterifyou
areusingaPoEswitch.


III2. UsingLANPort2
ThesecondLANportcanbeusedtoconnecttoanotherEthernetdevice.This
canbeanotherLANswitch,oranIEEE803.2afPoEpowereddevice.
BecarefulnottocreateanetworkloopwhenconnectingLANport2
toothernetworkingdevices.
WhenconnectinganotherPD(PoE)devicetoLANport2,youmustconsider
howmuchpowerthatdeviceusesinorder tooperate.Themaximumpower
outputonLANport2is12.9
watts.Thisisnotenoughtoconnectanother
IntellinetAC1750AccessPoint,asitsmaximumpowerdrawisrated18watts.
Notonlythat,but12.90wattscanonlybeachieved,iftheexternalpower
adapterisused.
IftheaccesspointisconnectedandpoweredviaPoE,therewill
belessthan
12.9wattspoweravailableonLANport2.Refertothetablebelow.

IV. BrowserBasedConfigurationInterface
Thebrowserbasedconfigurationinterfaceenablesyoutoconfigurethe
accesspoint’sadvancedfeatures.Thedevicefeaturesarangeofadvanced
functions,suchasMACfiltering,MACRADIUSauthentication,VLAN
configurations,upto32SSIDsandmanymore.Toaccessthebrowserbased
configurationinterface:
1.
ConnectacomputertoyouraccesspointusinganEthernetcable.
2.
Enteryouraccesspoint’sIPaddressintheURLbarofaWebbrowser.The
accesspoint’sdefaultIPaddressis192.168.2.1.
3.
Youwillbepromptedforauser nameandpassword.Thedefault
usernameis“admin”andthedefaultpasswordis“1234,”thoughitwas
recommendedthatyouchangethepasswordduringsetup(seeII2.Basic
Settings).
Ifyoucannotrememberyourpassword,resettheaccesspoint
backtoitsfactorydefaultsettings.RefertoI5.Reset.
