5.1 Functional description for EasyCool roof air conditioners
– Please also refer to the circuit diagrams on page 3 to page 5 –
The light system voltage U
D+
is measured. If the voltage exceeds a variable voltage value
Ue (12.5 V - 14.0 V), the 30/87 relay contact of the power relay is closed. The starter
battery and the additional battery are therefore connected in parallel with low ohms and
are charged together by the light system.
Note
EC-1500 and EC-2000:
The on/off switch of the roof air conditioner is connected to the inverter via the
contacts of the ECL-75/ECL-100.
EC-2500 and EC-3000:
The roof air conditioners are only connected to the charging current distributor
via contacts I2 and I3.
Contact I2 is connected to I3 with U
D+
> Ue. If the light system voltage falls below
a variable threshold value Ua (10.5 V - 12.5 V), due to an increased load due to the roof
air conditioner, relay contact 30/87 is opened. Relay contact I2, I3, which interrupts the
connection between the on/off cable and the inverter, is also opened.
The roof air conditioner is switched off in this way. The light system now charges the
starter battery. If the caravan has a connecting cable between the two batteries, the
additional battery is also charged.
If the charging voltage of the light system U
D+
reaches the voltage value Ue, the power
relay and the control relay switch on again. The roof air conditioner starts again. If the
vehicle engine is not switched on, U
D+
= 0 V, relay contact 30/87 is open and relay contact
I2-I3 is closed. The roof air conditioner can be operated and only takes power from the
additional battery. If the battery voltage falls below U
batt
= 10 V, the inverter switches off.
5.2 Functional description for CoolAir roof air conditioners
– Please also refer to the circuit diagrams on page 6 –
The light system voltage U
D+
is measured. If the voltage exceeds a variable voltage value
Ue (12.5 V - 14.0 V), the 30/87 relay contact of the power relay is closed. The starter
battery and the additional battery are therefore connected in parallel with low ohms and
are charged together by the light system.
Note
A 2-wire sensing cable (included with the CA-DC, item no.: 4441300084) is
used to connect the CA-1000 roof air conditioner (see fig. 4, page 6) to the
ECL-75 charging current distributor (contacts I2 and I3).
Contact I2 is connected to I3 with U
D+
> Ue. If the light system voltage falls below a
variable threshold value Ua (10.5 V - 12.5 V), due to an increased load due to the roof air
conditioner, relay contact 30/87 is opened. Relay contact I2, I3, is also opened and
switches the compressor off (fan keeps running). If the light system voltage exceeds the
set Ue value with U
D+
> Ue, the compressor switches on again automatically.
