dehumidicationofair.Anyotheruseoftheunit,or
usewhichiscontrarytotheinstructionsgiveninthis

Thedesiccantrotoristheadsorptiondehumidifyingcomponentintheunit.Therotorstructureis
comprisedofalargenumberofsmallairchannels.
Thedesiccantrotorismadeofacompositematerialthatishighlyeffectiveinattractingandretainingwater
vapour.Therotorisdividedintwozones.Theairowtobedehumidied,processair,passesthroughthe
largestzoneoftherotorandthenleavestherotorasdryair.Sincetherotorrotatesslowly,theincomingair
alwaysmeetsadryzoneontherotor,thuscreatingacontinuousdehumidicationprocess.
Theairowthatisusedtodrytherotor,reactivationair,isheated.Thereactivationairpassesthrough
therotorintheoppositedirectiontotheprocessairandleavestherotoraswetair(warm,moistair).This
principleenablesthedehumidiertoworkeffectively,evenatfreezingtemperatures.

3.1Transport
Transportthedehumidierbycarryingitbyitshandleorintheoriginalpackaging.Theunitmustalwaysbe
placedinanuprightpositionduringtransport.Failuretocomplywiththiscancausetheunittomalfunction.
Thepowercordshouldberolledupandplacedunderthehandlewhencarryingthedehumidier,see
Figure3.1.

1.Inspectthedeliveryandcomparewiththedeliverynote,orderconrmationorotherdelivery
documentation.Makesurethateverythingisincludedandnothingisdamaged.
2.ContactMuntersimmediatelyifthedeliveryisnotcompleteinordertoavoidinstallationdelays.
3.Iftheunitistobeputintostoragepriortoinstallation,seesectionStoringtheequipment.

spacetobedehumidiedaductingcanbeconnectedtothedryairoutletofthedehumidier.
Aclosedsystemispreferablewhenthereisaneedfordehumidicationtoaverydryclimate.Itismore
economicaltoruncomparedtoanopensystem.

Wheninstallingductworkbetweenthedehumidierandtheinletandoutletconnections,thefollowing
recommendationsshouldbeobserved:
Ductlengthmustbekeptasshortaspossibletominimisestaticpressureloss.
Allductandhoseconnectionsmustbeairtightandvapourtighttoensurefullperformance.
Theductingmustalwaysbeinsulatedwhenthereisariskoffreezing.
Thetotalresistanceintheductworkmustnotexceedtheperformanceratingofthefansttedinthe
dehumidier.
NOTE!Maximumlengthofdryairhoseis25metres.
4.5.1Ductworkforoutdoorairinlet
Whenbringingoutsideambientairintothedehumidier,theopeningtotheinletductshouldbelocated
sufcientlyhighabovegroundleveltopreventthepickupofdustanddebris.Theductingshouldbe
designedtopreventrainandsnowfrombeingdrawnintothedehumidier.Theairinletmustbelocated
awayfrompossiblecontaminantssuchasengineexhaustgases,steamandharmfulvapours.
Topreventthewet(outlet)airhumidifyingtheprocess/reactivation(inlet)air,theairinletfor
process/reactivationmustbelocatedatleast2metresfromthewetairoutlet.
Fastenwirenettingwithameshwidthofapproximately10mmintheouterendoftheduct.
4.5.2Ductworkforwetairoutlet
Wetairductingmustbeincorrosion-resistantmaterialandmustbecapableofwithstandingtemperaturesof
upto70°C.
Thewetairductingmustalwaysbeinsulatedifthereisariskoffreezing.Thewetairleavingthedehumidier
willeasilycausecondensationontheinsideoftheductwallsduetothehighmoisturecontent.
Horizontalductsmustbeinstalledwithaslightdecline(awayfromthedehumidier)todrainpossible
condensation.Thedeclinemustbeatleast2cm/metreofduct.Drainageholes(5mm)shouldbemadeat
lowpointsoftheducttopreventwateraccumulation.
Fastenwirenettingwithameshwidthofapproximately10mmintheouterendoftheduct.
Wetairhosesareusuallyguidedoutdoors.Inlargepremiseswherethedehumidierisoutsideofthespace
tobedehumidied,thewetairmustbeductedawayfromtheunitwithahoseofminimumlength2metres.
Makesurethatthewetairisnotsuckedbackintotheunitandthatthewetairdoesnotblowagainstmoisture
sensitiveobjects.

6.2.1Humiditycontrol
TheComDrydehumidierisequippedwithasophisticatedmicroprocessorbasedcontrolsystem.This,in
combinationwiththebuilt-inhumidity/temperaturesensorintheprocessairinlet,makesitpossibletoset
boththecontrolandpresentationofthehumiditytoeitherrelativehumidity(RH%),dewpoint(Dp°C)or
absolutehumidity(Xgr/kg).Thecontrolsystemadditionallychecksthetemperaturesbeforeandafterthe
heater,aswellasinthewetairaftertherotor.Ahighsafetylevelisobtainedbyvarioustemperaturesensors.
Toohightemperaturesgivesareductionoftheheaterpower,whileexcessivetemperatureswillmakethe
systemissueanalarmandshutthedehumidierdowninacontrolledway.Forfurtherexplanation,see

NOTE!Thedehumidieralwaysoperatesinautomaticmode(moisturebasedoperation).Asdefaultitwilluse
