Der Mindestabstand zwischen dem Kochfeld und der unteren Kante der Dunstabzugshaube muss bei

Elektroplatten 50 cm und bei Gasherden oder kombinierten Herden 70 cm betragen.

Schreiben die Installationsanweisungen des Gaskochfelds einen größeren Abstand vor, ist dieser

natürlich zu beachten. Sie sollten einen qualifizierten Techniker mit der Installation beauftragen.

Folgen Sie bei der Installation der Nummerierung (1Ö2Ö3Ö.....). Schließen Sie das Gerät erst nach

seiner kompletten Installation an das Stromnetz an.

Achtung! Prüfen Sie, ob das Abluftrohr und die Befestigungsmanschetten im Lieferumfang inbegriffen

sind. Andernfalls sind sie separat zu beziehen.

Hinweis: Die mit dem Symbol “(*)” bezeichneten Teile sind Zubehör, das nur mit bestimmten

Modellen geliefert oder nicht geliefert wird und gesondert erworben werden muss.

Aufgrund des schweren Gewichtes sind mindestens zwei oder noch mehr Personen zur Beförderung

und Installation der Abzugshaube erforderlich.

INSTALLATION DATA SHEET

The minimum distance between the pan supports on the cooking appliance and the lowest part of the

cooker hood must not be less than 50 cm for electric cookers or 70 cm for gas or combination cookers.

If the installation instructions for a gas cooker specify a greater distance, then this distance must be

observed. It is advisable to contact a qualified technician for installation. To install, follow steps

(1Ö2Ö3Ö.....). Do not connect the hood to the electrical power supply until installation is completed.

Warning! Check whether the exhaust pipe and clamps are provided. If not, they must be purchased

separately.

Note: Parts marked with the symbol “(*)” are optional accessories supplied only with some models

or parts not supplied, to be purchased separately.

Very heavy product; hood handling and installation must be carried out by at least two persons.

rekening gehouden worden. U wordt geadviseerd een deskundig installateur te raadplegen.

Volg voor de montage de nummering (1Ö2Ö3Ö.....). Geef het apparaat geen stroom totdat de

installatie geheel voltooid is.

Let op! Controleer of de afvoerpijp en de klembanden bijgeleverd zijn. Zo niet, dan moeten ze apart

worden aangeschaft.

Opmerking: De onderdelen gemarkeerd met het symbool “(*)” zijn optionele accessoires die

uitsluitend bij enkele modellen geleverd worden of onderdelen die niet geleverd zijn en aangeschaft

1. Packaging

Packaging materials are 100% recyclable and are marked with the

recycling symbol . Dispose of the appliance in conformity with

local environmental regulations. Packaging materials (plastic bags,

polystyrene, etc.) can be dangerous for children and should be kept

well out of their reach.

2. Product

This appliance is marked in compliance with European Directive

2002/96/EC on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE).

By ensuring that this appliance is scrapped suitably, you can help

prevent potentially damaging consequences for the environment and

health.

The symbol on the product or the accompanying documentation

indicates that this product should not be treated as domestic waste

but must be taken to a suitable collection centre for the recycling of

electrical and electronic equipment.

Disposal must be carried out in accordance with local environmental

regulations for waste disposal.

For further information on the treatment, recovery and recycling of

this appliance, contact your competent local authority, the collection

service for household waste or the shop where you purchased the

appliance.

PRECAUTIONS AND GENERAL

RECOMMENDATIONS

WARNING!

• The appliance is not intended for use by young children or

persons with restricted physical, sensory or mental

abilities or without experience and knowledge of the

appliance, unless they are under the supervision or

instruction of a person responsible for their safety.

• Children must be supervised so that they do not play with

the appliance.

1. Do not connect the appliance to the electrical power supply

until installation is completed. Always disconnect the hood

before cleaning or carrying out maintenance by unplugging it or

switching off the power supply.

2. Do not “flambé” food under the hood. Naked flames could

cause a fire.

3. Do not leave pans unattended when frying. Cooking oil can

catch fire.

4. Regular cleaning and maintenance is essential to correct

functioning and good performance. Regularly remove dirt

deposits. Regularly clean or replace filters. Never use flammable

materials as hoses for extracted air.

5. If the hood is used together with other appliances powered by

gas or other fuels, ambient negative pressure must not exceed

4Pa (4 x 10

bar). For this reason, make sure the room is

adequately ventilated.

6. Exhaust air must not be conveyed through the same flue used by

the heating system or other appliances powered by gas or other

fuels.

7. The room must be adequately ventilated when the hood is used

together with appliances powered by gas or other fuels.

8. When replacing the bulbs, first ensure that they are cold.

9. The discharge air must not be ducted to a flue used for removing

fumes produced by appliances using gas or other fuels, but must

have a separate outlet.

All national regulations on air discharge must be observed.

10. The hood is not a shelf, therefore do not overload or place

objects on it.

11. Do not use or leave the hood without its lamps correctly

installed - risk of electric shock.

Note: always wear work gloves for all installation and maintenance

operations.

Electrical connections

The mains power supply must correspond to the voltage indicated

on the appliance rating plate located inside the hood. If provided

with a plug, connect the hood to a power socket complying with

current regulations and located in an accessible area. If it does not

have a plug (direct connection to the power supply) or if the socket is

not in an accessible place, fit a suitable double-pole switch that

ensures complete disconnection from the power supply in category

III overvoltage conditions, complying with the installation rules.

WARNING: Before reconnecting the hood circuit to the

power supply and checking correct operation, always make

sure the power cable is correctly fitted and that it was NOT

crushed in its housing during installation.

Cleaning the hood

Important! Failure to remove oil/grease (at least once a month)

could result in fire.

Use a soft cloth with a neutral detergent. Never use abrasive

substances or alcohol.

Before using the hood

Please read these instructions carefully and keep them for future

reference, in order to ensure best use of your hood.

Packaging materials (plastic bags, polystyrene, etc.) can be

dangerous for children and should be kept well out of their reach.

Make sure the hood has not been damaged during transport.

Declaration of conformity

This product has been designed, manufactured and sold in

conformity to the following standards:

- safety objectives of the “Low Voltage”

Directive 2006/95/CE (which replaces 73/23/CEE and

subsequent amendments)

- protection requirements of “EMC” Directive 89/336/EEC

amended by Directive 93/68/EEC.

Troubleshooting guide

The hood does not work:

• Is the plug properly inserted in the power socket?

• Is there a power failure?

The hood is not extracting efficiently:

• Is the right speed selected?

• Do the filters need cleaning or replacing?

• Are the air outlets blocked?

The light does not work:

• Does the bulb need replacing?

• Is the bulb correctly fitted?

AFTER-SALES SERVICE

Before calling the After-sales Service

1. Check to see if you can fix the problem yourself (see

“Troubleshooting Guide”).

2. Switch the hood off and then on again to check if the problem

has been eliminated.

3. If the problem persists, contact the After-sales Service.

Specify:

• the nature of the problem,

• the product model given on the dataplate inside the hood, visible

on removing the grease filters,

• your full address,

• your telephone number and area code,

• the Service code (the number under the word SERVICE on the

dataplate inside the hood, behind the grease filter).

If any repairs are necessary, contact an authorised Service Centre (to

ensure the use of original spare parts and correct repair).

Failure to comply with these instructions may compromise the safety

and quality of the product.

The hood is designed for use in “Extractor version” or in

“Filter version”

Extractor version

Fumes are extracted and expelled to the outside through an

exhaust pipe (not supplied) fixed to the hood coupling ring.

Depending on the exhaust pipe purchased, provide for

suitable fixing to the coupling ring.

Important: If already installed, remove the carbon filter/s.

Filter version

Air is filtered through a carbon filter/s and recycled into the

surrounding environment.

Important: Ensure that air recirculation is facilitated

(carefully follow the instructions given in the installation

handbook)

Important! If the hood does not have a carbon filter/s, it/they

must be ordered and fitted before use.

The hood is provided with hardware (e.g. screws and/or

plugs) suitable for most walls/ceilings. However, it is necessary

to contact a qualified technician to ensure suitability according

to the type of wall/ceiling. The wall/ceiling must be strong

enough to take the weight of the hood.

INSTALLATION - ASSEMBLY

INSTRUCTIONS

Remove the perimeter extraction panel (if relevant) and the

grease filter/s.

Pre-assemble the steam deflector on the motor assembly (if

relevant): (a.) Fit the steam deflector to the rails of the motor

assembly. (Remove the two travel stop screws from the

steam deflector if necessary.) (b.) Connect up the control

panel and the lamps. (c.) Fix in place with the 14 screws

(max.).

1. Mark a line on the wall right up to the ceiling,

corresponding to the centre-line of the hood.

2. Apply the drilling template to the wall: Align the vertical

centre-line on the drilling template with the centre-line

drawn on the wall. The template's bottom edge

represents the bottom edge of the hood.

3. Place the mounting bracket over the drilling template so

that it matches the outlined rectangle. Mark and drill the

two outside holes. Remove the drilling template. Insert

two wall plugs in the holes and fix the hood mounting

bracket in place with two 5 x 45 mm screws.

4. Hang the hood on the mounting bracket. Adjust gap (5.)

and the horizontal alignment (6.) of the hood.

7. From inside the hood, mark 2 holes for the final fixing of

the hood.

8. Remove the hood from the bracket. Drill the holes (9. - Ø

8 mm - see step 7.). Insert two wall plugs (10.).

11. Apply the flue mounting bracket G to the wall against the

ceiling. (Align the small slot in the bracket with the centre-

line drawn on the wall. See step 1. Fix the bracket in place

with two wall plugs (Ø 8 mm) and two screws (12.).

13. Hang the hood on the bottom mounting bracket. (14.) Fix

the hood to the wall with two 5 x 45 mm screws

(ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY). Plug the two holes if they

are visible from the outside.

15. Connect a fume hose to the collar B. Direct the hose to

the outside (extractor hood) or to the deflector (filter

hood). Fix the deflector F to the flue mounting bracket G

with four screws (two screws on model DDB 5310). if it

has been removed, fix the collar (bayonet fitting) to the

deflector F with one screw.

16. Make all necessary electrical connections.

17. Fit the flue covers and fix them at the top with the two

screws (17a) to the flue bracket G (17b).

18. Slide the bottom section of the flue cover all the way over

the extraction unit until it engages the seat above the

hood.

19. (Model DDB 5310 only.) Fix the bottom section of the

flue cover to the hood with two screws.

Re-fit the grease filter/s and, if a perimeter extraction panel is

fitted, check for correct operation.

Description of the hood

Control panel with display

A. Light switch.

B. Motor ON/OFF switch (display LED steadily lit).

C. Timer/speed switch (display LED flashes). This switch

operates the hood for a predetermined time:

20 minutes (speed 1), 15 minutes (speed 2), 10 minutes

(speed 3), 5 minutes (maximum speed).

D. Display: extraction speeds 1-2-3-P.

Filter cleaning required:

F warns of blockage of grease filter/s;

C warns of blockage of carbon filter:

When the carbon filter is installed for the first time,

activate it by pressing keys E and F simultaneously for 3

seconds. The letter F appears on the display, then after

about 3 seconds the letter C appears.

To de-activate the filter, repeat the above steps until the

letter C disappears.

Resetting filter blockage indicators: Wash and

replace the grease filter, then press key B for about 3

seconds. The letter F disappears from the display.

Wash and replace the carbon filter, then press key B for

about 3 seconds.

The letter C disappears from the display.

Key for reducing extraction speed.

F. Key for increase extraction speed.

Important! Maximum speed P is engaged for

5 minutes

after which time the hood automatically switches

to extraction speed 2.

In case of malfunctioning, press key A and disconnect

the hood from the mains supply by pulling the plug out

for at least 5 seconds. Re-connect after 5 seconds. If the

fault persists, contact an authorised service centre.

Analog or digital control panel

Light :

Move the switch to the right or press the button to switch on.

Extraction speed :

Move the switch to the right or press the next button to

increase extraction speed (or open the electric shutter ).

Maintenance

ALWAYS disconnect the hood from the mains before

performing maintenance.

Grease filter maintenance

Once a month wash the grease filter by hand or in a

dishwasher at a low temperature and with a short cycle.

Carbon filter maintenance

Wash the carbon filter once a month in a dishwasher at the

highest possible temperature, using normal dishwasher

detergent. Wash the filters on their own.

After washing, reactivate the carbon filter by drying it in the

oven at 100° C for 10 minutes. Fit a new carbon filter every 3

years.

Remove the grease filters - Fig. 1. To remove, pull the

spring loaded release handle back (f1) then extract the filter

downwards (f2).

Clean the perimeter extraction panel (if provided) as

often as the grease filter, using a cloth and a mild liquid

detergent.

Never use abrasive substances.

Replacing bulbs

Before doing so, check that the lamps have cooled down.

1. Use a small screwdriver or any other suitable tool to prise

off (m-Fig. 2) the lamp cover (p-Fig. 2).

2. Remove the burnt-out bulb.

Use max 20 W halogen bulbs only, taking care not to

touch them with your hands.

3. Close the lighting unit (snap-on).

Fitting the carbon filter:

1. Remove the grease filter (f1/f2 - Fig. 1).

2. Remove the filter holder by turning the knobs

(g - Fig. 2) through 90°.

3. Fit the carbon filter (h - Fig. 2) in the filter holder (i - Fig. 2).

Reverse the above procedure to re-fit the filter holder and

grease filter.
