Quick Start Guide
Detailed instructions can be found in the User Guide on the CD enclosed in this package.
Hardware Installation:
1) Before connecting the IntelliJack to the network verify that the existing network cabling meets the
ANSI/TIA/EIA-568 standard and that the port in the wiring closet is connected to an active Ethernet MDI-X
port.
2) Thread both IntelliJack LAN cables through the opening in the mounting plate.
3) Connect the wiring as illustrated Below. The IntelliJack has two Cat5 cables terminated with a male RJ-45
connector.
a. The white cable connects the LAN to the four PAN ports located on the bottom of the IntelliJack.
b. The black cable connects the LAN to the single pass-through port located on the front of the IntelliJack.
4) Choose one pair of the provided screws that best fits your outlet box.
5) Tighten the screws while holding the IntelliJack in place.
Software Installation:
1) Insert CD into CD drive. If computer is configured to Auto
begin. If not,
2) Complete each page. Use the Install Wizard to move through the complete setup.
LEDs:
There is a green link LED on each of the four switched ports. In addition, there is an amber LED on Port
#4 that will light when power is being forwarded from the NJ205 to a 802.3af compliant device plugged into
it. Finally, there are green LEDs indicating power and link for the NJ205 located on the front of the main unit.
