INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE
GENERAL
The components of the air treatment system are coupled for left-to-right flow (as in
symbolic representation). The air flow is indicated by an arrow on the front.
A right-to-left flow set-up can be obtained by turning the components through 180°
and moving the pressure gauge and bowl protections to face forwards.
MOUNTING
(3) Modulair 107, 2 mounting holes of diameter 4.1 depth C4: 38 / Modulair 112, 2 mounting holes of dia. 5.5 depth C4: 47.5
NOTE - The regulator or filter/regulator can also be secured with a top bracket and ring (accessories)
- The regulator can be panel-mounted separately using a mounting ring (accessory)
Components of the "MODULAIR 107 or 112" can
easily be assembled with the connection fitting
(1) which is accessible from the front.
ASSEMBLY OF COMPONENTS
The standard systems consist of a self-contained filter/regulator and
a lubricator. This configuration offers a gain in the space required
of 30% compared combining three separate components. However,
if the user wishes to constitute a system with an independent filter
and regulator, the components can be procured separately together
with two assembly kits.
Standard system
consisting of 2 elements
with self-contained filter/regulator
and lubricator
System consisting of
3 components (procure
2 assembly kits in addition)

Air service equipment of the Modulair 107 and 112 range exists in versions
intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres caused by gases,
vapours, mists an/or dusts (ATEX directive 94/9/EC). Startup and maintenance
are to be performed as detailed below.
INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE
FRL AIR TREATMENT SYSTEM
Refer to the specifications of the system component.
INSTALLATION
Place after isolation valve and before lubricator
Position vertically (maximum inclination 5°)
Installation accessories (on request) :
- top bracket and ring (for separate component)
- side brackets
Pressure and temperature: see general specifications
other specifications: see filter and regulator
MAINTENANCE (see filter and regulator)
FILTER
INSTALLATION
Place near point of use, after isolation valve
Position vertically (maximum inclination 5°)
Pressure and temperature: see general specifications
Visual condensate level check:
- through transparent bowl (polycarbonate bowl version)
- through small window in front of bowl protection
Depending on the version selected: the filter is equipped with:
- A semi-automatic drain (G 1/8 connection)
Drain closes on bowl pressurization
Opens when depressurized
Can be operated manually by pressing plunger when bowl is
under pressure
- Automatic drain - operating pressure 2 to 10 bar (for Modulair 112)
(nipple connection for Ø 6 ID hose)
Drain opens by built-in float when maximum condensate level
is reached
Recloses after discharging condensates
Can be operated manually (knurled knob)
- Manual drain
MAINTENANCE
Bowls (with or without guard) of polycarbonate (PC):
never use a solvent, use an alkaline solution (soapy water)
for cleaning.
Filtering element: replace if clogged (available as spare part)
Filtering capacity indicated by colour coding: white for 5µm, red for 10µm, yellow (standard) for 25µm,
and green for 50µm
FILTER / REGULATOR
INSTALLATION
Place after filter and preferably before lubricator
Never connect a regulator to a control valve outlet
Position as desired, making sure that the adjustment knob is accessible
Mounting options:
- Direct surface-mounting using the 2 holes in the body
With mounting accessories (on request)
- Panel mounting: with retaining ring
- Surface mounting:with ring + top bracket
with 2 side brackets
Each regulator is supplied with two G 1/2 ports (on the front and
rear) for fitting a pressure gauge
or controlled pressure tapping. Ports concealed with trim.
Operations to be performed before utilising.
Installing a pressure gauge
- Remove the trim
- Manually install the pressure gauge at the front
- Seal the rear plug with a suitable product (e.g. Loctite 241)
- Reinstall the trim at the back
NOTE: interchange the two components for right-to-left flow installation
Installation without pressure gauge
- Remove the trim
- Obtain one G 1/8 plug for the front port
- Seal the two plugs with a suitable product
- Reinstall the trim
