Welcome
Welcome to the world of Motorola digital wireless communication! We
are pleased that you have chosen the Motorola S805 Bluetooth
®
DJ
headphones.
You can use your S805 DJ Headphones simultaneously with your Bluetooth
audio device and your Bluetooth phone.
See figure 1 on page 1.
Listen to music, hear a ring, and transfer to take the call on the headphones.
Hang up the call with a push of a button and your music automatically
continues playing.
Your S805 supports both Hands-free (HFP) and Headset Bluetooth profiles
for calls, and Advanced Audio Distribution (A2DP) and Audio Video Remote
Control (AVRCP) profiles for wireless, streaming music.
Before your begin
Take a moment to familiarize yourself with your S805 DJ headphones.
See figure 2 on page 1.
Music Controls – Right Pod
1 Track Control Wheel. Allows you to skip forward to the next music track,
or skip to the previous music track.
2 Play/Pause/Stop Button and Indicator Light ❙❙■ . Allows you to play,
pause, or stop music when listening to music over a Bluetooth
connection using A2DP and AVRCP profiles. For audio played back
through a wired (non-Bluetooth) connection, this button allows mute/un-
mute of incoming audio. In a call via Bluetooth (Hands-free profile), this
button allows mute/un-mute of the microphone.
3 Microphone. Used when playing or receiving calls.

4 Call Button and Indicator Light

. Used to answer and end calls. Also
used to turn S805 on and off.
5 Volume Control Wheel. Allows you to increase or decrease for music or
calls.
6 Grommet. Flexible rubber flap used to cover headphones jack and
charging port.
7 Charging Port. When charging, one end of the charger should be
inserted into this port.
8 Headphones Jack. Allows you to connect to a non-Bluetooth music
source. When using such a device as a music source, plug in one end
of the included cable into the music source, and the other end into this
receptacle.
Initial Set up
Before you can use your headphones, you must:
1 Charge your headphones’ internal battery
2 Pair your headphones with your phone and/or audio source
Charging your headphones
See figure 3 on page 2.
Plug the Motorola charger into the end of the headphones. Both

and ❙❙■
indicator lights turn on when the battery is charging. It may take up to 1
minute for the indicator lights to turn on.
When the headphones' battery is fully charged (about 3 hours), the
indicator lights turn off.
Note: Headphones are not functional while charging.

Pairing your headphones and phone
Your phone’s Bluetooth feature is off by default. Make sure the Bluetooth
feature is permanently turned on in your phone. Please check your phone’s
user’s guide.
Before you can use your headphones, you must pair (link) them with your
phone first.
1 With the headphones power off, press and hold the Call button for
6-10 seconds until the indicator light turns on and remain steadily lit.
If the indicator light is flashing or does not remain steadily lit, turn off the
headphones and repeat this step.
2 Perform a device discovery (or scan) from the phone. For details about
device discovery, consult your phone’s user’s guide. The phone lists
Bluetooth devices it finds.
3 Select Motorola S805 in the list of discovered devices and confirm by
following the on-screen prompts.
4 When prompted by the phone, enter the passkey 0000 and confirm.
When your headphones successfully pair with your phone, the

light changes from steadily lit to rapidly flashing.
Pairing your headphones and audio device
To use your headphones for streaming audio, you must pair them with
your audio device.
1 Place your headset in pairing mode.
2 Place your Bluetooth audio device in pairing mode. See your Bluetooth
audio device’s user guide for details.
3 Place headphones and audio device close together while in pairing
mode.
When your headphones pair successfully with your audio device, the

indicator light changes from steadily lit to rapidly flashing.

Test and use
Verify your headphones and audio device work together:
1 Place the headphones on your head.
2 Start playing music on the audio device.
If your headphones and audio device are successfully paired, you will
hear music on your headphones.
Verify your headphones and phone work together:
1 Place the headphones on your head.
2 Make a call from your phone.
If your headphones and phone are successfully paired, you will hear
ringing on your headphones.
Paired link to additional devices
Your headphones can store pairing information for up to 8 different devices
in chronological order. When an attempt to pair to more than 8 devices is
made, the oldest paired device is removed from the list.
The headphone will automatically initiate a connection with the last device
it was connected to either by powering up the headset or by pressing
the Call button. If you want to connect the headset to another device in
the paired device list, you must initiate the connection from that device.
Whichever of the 8 devices initiates a connection to the headset afterwards,
that device then becomes the “last connected” device.

Using your headphones
Turning your headphones on & off
To turn your S805 headphones on, press and hold

indicator light flashes twice. Then, release the button.
To turn your S805 headphones off, press and hold

indicator light flashes three times and then turns off.
When the Bluetooth connection is between the S805 and a phone using
Hands-free Profile (HFP) for call management, only the

is lit.
When the Bluetooth connection involves Advanced Audio Distribution
(A2DP) for streaming audio, both

To disable the indicator lights, long press

Note: When placing or receiving calls, music playing from a Bluetooth-
enabled device is automatically paused. When the call is finished, the

Troubleshooting
My phone does not find my headphones: make sure the indicator light on
your headphones is steadily lit when you phone is searching for devices.
My headphones worked before but now it is not working: Make sure the
Bluetooth feature is turned on in your phone. If the Bluetooth feature has
been turned off or was turned on temporarily, you may need to restart the
Bluetooth feature and pair your phone and headphones again.
