About This Variety: The burning bush is an object described by the Book of Exodus as being located on Mount
Horeb. According to the narrative, the bush was on fire, but was not consumed by the flames, hence the name.
Growing Instructions: Dig a hole about a foot deep and a foot wide. Set the plant in the hole, and fill it half full
with soil. Water. After water is drained, fill the rest of the hole with the remaining soil. Then water thoroughly again
and continue doing so regularly. Fertilization may be necessary. Minimal care required.
Care Tip: For that burst of flame in fall, be sure to plant the shrubs where they get full sun for most of the day. Even
though they love living in the shade, the leaves will not be able to turn red without a massive dose of sunshine on a
daily basis. Plant 3’ apart if your goal is a hedge.
Exposure: Full sun to part shade
Height: Grows 4-8’ tall
Spacing: Plant- 4-8’ apart, crown at soil level
Hardy in: USDA zones 4-9
