Planting Drift® Roses

Step 1: Pick a Sunny Place to Plant
Your ro se bu sh wi ll need at le ast 6 hours of su n ea ch da y, so choo se a su nn y
spot to pl an t.
Step 2: Dig a Large Hole
Di g a h ole sli ghtly lar ger than t he cont ain er. Wor k th e soi l at t he bo tt om of
the hole wi th your sh ovel so t hat i t is l oose and aera ted.
Step 3: Remove Rose from its Container
Remove the D ri ft® R ose fr om i ts container. Use your h ands to gent ly lo osen
the roo ts at the bo ttom of t he pl an t.
Step 4: Plant your Rose in Ground
Place the plan t in the h ole, en s u ri ng that the base of t he pl an t is le vel wi th
the soi l.
Step 5: Fill in Soil around Plant
Ad d s oi l b ac k to the hole aroun d the pla nt. Cru mble the soi l so th at i t i s n ice
and a erat ed. If desire d, m ulch aro un d the plant.
Step 6: Water Rose until Established

Step 1: Know the proper time
Pr une your r ose b ush in earl y spring, n ever in the f al l an d ne ver in the
win te r. C he ck your rose bu sh from ti me to tim e as sprin g moves alon g and
wh en you start to see ne w s h oots growing from th e cane s on yo ur ro se bush,
that s a good si gn that i t is time to prun e.

if you choose to gi ve them an a ddi ti onal boos t, it' s very important no t to
fer ti liz e un ti l after the ro se s are es tablished an d go th ro ugh one bloom cycle .
Here are some additional tips:
1. Use a b alan ced f er til ize r or fertilizer for mu la ted f or ro ses from yo ur
