Now with highly refined circuitry, the new Punch DSM amplifiers are
better sounding and more powerful than ever before. Discrete Surface Mount
(DSM) technology allows the packaging of complex circuitry in small areas
resulting in a higher quality amplifier with lower noise and distortion. The Punch
DSM amplifiers utilize all N-channel V-FET circuitry for higher power output and
less distortion. To protect your Punch DSM amplifier, computerized Real Time
Protection circuits sense when output reaches an unsafe level and will reduce it.
Rockford
didn’t stop there with performance improvements to the new
Punch amplifiers. The new Punch have upgruded MOSFET, Pulse Width
Modulated power supplies that are more responsive to the music and allow the
headroom power that the Punch is famous for. We’ve also developed
CRV
Circuitry (Controlled Rail Voltage) for tighter bass, and designed custom high
current, gold-plated, heavy-duty terminal block type connectors. As always, the

The brand new look for the Punch amplifiers is like none other. A unique
shape was achieved by the use of a cast aluminum heat sink. Die casting allowed
Rockford to be more creative in the cosmetic design of the amplifiers, offering an
alternative to the common, extruded “all lines run one way look”. Not only does
the cast heat sink give the Punch a radical new appearance, it allows us to offer
stealth wiring and mounting, as well as a 30% increase in thermal time. The
endcaps conceal the amplifier’s wiring and mounting screws. It’s also a deterent
to thieves because the endcaps must come off before the amplifier can be
removed.
