Chamois Butt’r Original – 32 oz bottle with pump dispenser

Chamois Butt’r Original is a high viscosity chamois cream that can be a difficult product to dispense

through a pump. Listed below are some techniques that should help if you are having trouble getting

the product to dispense through the pump.

1. One consideration with this method of dispensing Chamois Butt’r Original is that the pump

tends to create a “hole” in the product as it pumps. This can be a contributing factor for initial

priming as well.

 The product tends to stand on its own, even when the bottle is full.

 A helpful technique to do in that situation is to tap the bottom of the bottle on a solid

flat surface (like a counter top) to help collapse the hole around the pump tube/intake

so that it will not pull air as the pump is actuated.

 After priming the pump (as instructed above) this is a good step to ensure that the

product is at the base of the pump tube in order that it can be successfully dispensed.

 Periodically tapping the bottle on a solid surface is advised to prevent further dispensing

issues.

2. It may be necessary to “prime” the pump initially.

 To prime the pump, remove it (simply unscrew) from the bottle.

 Twist the pump head counterclockwise approximately one half turn to unlock it for use.

 Insert the pick-up tube of the pump (the tube that goes into the bottle) into a container

of water (room temperature.)

 Hold the pump with one hand while pushing on the pump head with another hand. The

pump should begin pumping water within 2-3 strokes. At that time the pump is primed.

 Return the pump to the bottle and securely screw it back onto the bottle.

 Pump should then dispense the product.

3. It is recommended to store the bottle at room temperature or even a little warmer, as

colder/cooler temperatures may make it more difficult to dispense.
