manufactured to and complies with all of the recognised technical CE safety norms.
To ensure your safety and complete satisfaction with the appliance, please read the operating
instructions carefully before using it. Please keep the operating instructions in a safe place and do
not pass on the appliance to other persons for use unless it is accompanied by the operating
instructions.
The following safety instructions should be observed
The convector is to be used exclusively for heating rooms. The appliance is designed for normal
domestic use and similar applications.
If the convector is to be mounted on the wall, please make sure that the mains power socket is
freely accessible at all times and that the convector is not mounted directly underneath it.
Do not use the appliance in rooms with bath, shower or swimming pool or in the vicinity of wash
basins or water connections (see fig. 8).
Keep a distance of 30 cm free, all around the appliance. The appliance must not be covered up,
otherwise this could lead to over-heating which could result in a fire (see fig. 7).
The appliance can get hot at the air outlet grid during operation.
The appliance may not be operated by children.
Never use inflammable cleaning agents, like petrol, for cleaning the appliance. Do not use the
applianceinroomswherecombustible gases can be present.
Make sure that nowaterorotherfluidscan enter into the appliance.
Make sure that no objects can enter into the appliance.
Unplug the appliance before cleaning.
Occasionally check the power cable for damage. A damaged cable can cause dangerous electric
shocks. In case of damage, the cable must be replaced. This should only be done by an expert, as a
special tool is necessary.
Check whether the voltage on the type label agrees with the voltage supply in your home.

Your AKO convector
The AKO convector contains a powerful heating element. The heating power can be set to 750 W,
1250 W or 2000 W. The thermostat enables automatic temperature adjustment from frost protection to
around +35°C. The K 820 convector provides an additional fan.
After unpacking
- Check the appliance for visible damage.
If you should notice any damage, do not use the appliance. Please contact your dealer
immediately.
- Do not forget to unpack the support feet . You will find them on the side of the packaging.
- Please dispose of the packaging in an environmentally manner.
Positioning the convector
Mount both support feet ontotheundersideoftheappliance(seefig.5onside2).
- Place the support feet on the bolts on the underside of the appliance.
- Fasten the feet onto the convector with the screws provided.

The convector is now ready for operation.

Function of the thermostat
The thermostat switches the convector off and on automatically. If the temperature of the room falls
short of the required temperature, the convector switches on until the required temperature is reached.

- Set the thermostat to MAX.
Theappliancebeginstoheattheroom.
- As soon as the required temperature is reached, turn back the thermostat anti-clockwise until the
thermostat switches off with an audible click.
The required temperature will now be more or less maintained by the convector.
The fan (only for K 820)
For better dispersion of the air, you can turn on the fan with the fan switch . Additional warmed air is
blown out of the air outlet grid on the front side of the appliance.
After use
- Turn the rotary knob to the 0" position.
- If you do not intend to use the appliance for a while, unplug it.
Wall mounting (see figures 4, 6, 7 and 8 on side 2)
For wall-mounting, the support feet are used as wall mounting brackets.
- Mount the support feet onthewallwith4pinsØ 6x30mmand4screwsØ 5 x 30 mm. Please
observe the correct distances (figures 7 and 8). The dimensions of the required holes are shown
in figure 6.
- Push out the hooks on the support feet.
- Hang the convector on the support feet as shown in fig. 4.
- Connect the plug to the mains socket.
The convector is now ready for operation.
Permanent connection of the power supply
The connecting cable can be permanently connected to the mains power supply. When doing this,
observe the wiring diagram and the illustrations starting from figure 9 on page 2.
Follow the safety notes described below

Permanent connection may only be carried out by a qualified electrician.
Permanent connection may only be implemented to the mains if it is isolated (on all poles) at least
3 mm isolation for the contact opening is required.

Appliance faults and possible causes
The appliance does not warm up.
The plug is not connected to the mains power supply.
-Plugitin.
The rotary knob is set to the position 0.
- Turn the knob to the required setting.
The thermostat is set too low.
- Turn the thermostat up higher.
The over-temperature protection has been activated, because the air intake or outlet is blocked.
-Lettheappliancecooloffforabout5minutes.
- Make sure that the air intake and outlets are free and not blocked.
- The appliance re-starts automatically.
The fan does not work (only for K 820).
The fan switch is set to position 0.
- Turn the fan switch to position .
In the event that you have checked all of the above and the appliance still does not work, please contact your
local dealer or the AKO service centre.
Cleaning the appliance
If required, the appliance can be cleaned by wiping it over with a slightly damp cloth.
Maintenance
Depending on the amount of dust and dirt, we recommend that you have the appliance cleaned by qualified
personnel.
Disposal
For the safe and environmentally friendly disposal of the appliance, please refer to your dealer, or directly to
the manufacturer.
