Introduction

The Model T32250 24" Bed Extension increases

the bed length of the Model G0844 benchtop

lathe to accommodate longer workpieces.

Tools Needed

Installation

1. Thread rubber feet into bottom of bed extension.

2. Remove (2) button head screws and flat wash-

ers securing accessories tray to tailstock end

of lathe bed.

3. Secure bed extension to lathe bed with (2)

M8-1.25 x 25 cap screws, 8mm lock washers,

and 8mm flat washers. Finger-tighten only.

4. Center tailstock over bed extension and lathe

(see Figure 2), and tighten tailstock lock

lever. This will align bed extension and lathe

bed to bottom of tailstock.

5. Fully tighten bed extension cap screws.

6. Loosen tailstock lock lever, and slide tailstock

over length of bed extension and lathe bed.

— If tailstock catches where lathe and bed

extension meet, loosen fasteners and

repeat Steps 4–6 until it slides smoothly.

7. Place straightedge over bed extension and

lathe bed to verify they are parallel and aligned.

8. Install acessories tray to bed extension with

(2) button head screws and flat washer

removed in Step 2.

Refer to Model G0844 manual for instructions on

operating lathe.

— If bed extension tilts down, use a strip of

masking tape along bottom edge of lathe

bed to shim the bed extension up (see

Figure 3), then adjust bed extension rub-

ber feet to level bed surface.

— If bed extension tilts up, use a strip of mask-

ing tape along top edge of lathe bed to shim

bed extension down (see Figure 4), then

adjust rubber feet to level bed surface.

— If bed extension is skewed left or right,

use a vertical strip of masking tape along

corresponding edge of lathe bed to make

bed extension parallel with lathe bed (see

Figure 5).
