Prerequisite
Lexmark service training courses are developed
assuming the student has these entry level skills:
• Capable of using common hand tools, such as
screwdrivers, nutdrivers, wrenches, in the
mechanical assembly and disassembly of non-
complex electronic equipment.
• Basic understanding of electricity including current,
voltage, and resistance.
• Use of an analog or digital multimeter in the
measure of voltage, current, and resistance.
• Understand the safe procedures relating to the
service of devices powered by AC line voltages.
• Ability to follow non-complex procedures (written
and graphic) to isolate product problems.
• Use of special tools and instructions (written and
graphic) in the adjustment of electro-mechanical
devices such as diskette drives and printers.
• Proper application of lubricants and cleaning
materials for electro-mechanical devices.
• Ability to type data on a keyboard.
• Ability to interpret data (audible and visual).
• Understand the safe use of hand tools and a
multimeter.
• General industry information, for example, A+
certification.
