TheXFPisnotdirectlyprovisionable.Toprovisionthe
XFP,accessthemenusystemofthehostmodule.Referto
the“Provisioning”sectionoftheJobAidorInstallation
andMaintenancePracticeprovidedwiththehostmodule
forprovisioningdetails.
SAFETY AND REGULATORY COMPLIANCE
♦ ElectrostaticDischarge(ESD)candamageelectronic
modules.Whenhandling modules,wear anantistatic
dischargewriststraptopreventdamagetoelectronic
components.Place modulesin antistatic packing
materialwhentransportingorstoring.Whenwor ki ng
on modules, always place them on an approved
antistaticmatthatiselectricallygrounded.
♦ The XFP meets or exceeds all the applicable
requirementsofNEBS,TelcordiaGR‐63‐CORE,andGR‐
1089‐CORE.TheXFPisintendedfordeploymentin
CentralOfficetypefacili ti es ,EEEs,EECs,andlocations
where the NEC applies (for example, Customer
Premises).TheXFPis to beinstalled inADTRAN
productsin Restricted
Access Locations only, and
installedbytrainedservicepersonnel.

frameground. The XFP can beinstalled in a DC‐I
(isolated) or DC‐ C (common) configuration. For
installationswhereothercardsorthehostsystemhave
internalconnectionsbetweenbatteryreturnandframe
ground,
thesystemwouldbeintendedfordeployment
onlyinaDC‐Cconfiguration.
♦ TheADTRANsystemchassisframegroundterminal
mustbeconnectedtoareliableearthgroundtoensure
that the metal enclosure of the XFP is properly
groundedviathebackplaneconnector.

LaserSafetyrequirements ofFDA21CFR1040.10 and
1040.11,andIEC60825‐1and‐2.TheXFPisNRTLlisted
andCBCertifiedtoallapplicableAmericanandEuropean
safetystandards.

standards,only approvedClass
1 modules from our
approvedve n d o r list,locatedontheADTRANwebsi t e ,
shouldbeinstalledinADTRANproducts.
