Note
No sound is output from the rear speakers when
the connection setting is set to “R. C. WIRED”
(page 20).
Notes
• Do not install the IR receiver in a place exposed to
direct sunlight or strong light such as an incandescent
lamp.
• Do not use the IR transmitter or IR receiver that is not
supplied with the system.
• Make sure you set “R. C. WIRELESS” when using
wireless setting or “R. C. WIRED” when using wired
setting. If you do not set the proper setting, no sound
is output from the rear speakers. For details, see
“Specifying distance, position, height and
connection method of the speakers” (page 20).
Setting the wireless speaker
system
After connecting the speakers, rear amplifier, IR
transmitter, IR receiver and the AC power cords,
adjust the wireless system for good
transmission.
1 Press ?/1 on the system and POWER
on the rear amplifier.
The system and rear amplifier turn on and
the ON/STANDBY indicator on the rear
amplifier lights up in red.
2 Place the IR transmitter and IR receiver
to face each other.
Adjust the position of the IR transmitter and
IR receiver until the ON/STANDBY and
ON LINE indicators on the rear amplifier
turn green.
Notes
• Make sure that there is no obstruction such as a
person or object between the IR transmitter and IR
receiver. Otherwise, the sound from the rear speakers
may be interrupted.
• If the ON LINE indicator on the rear amplifier lights
up in red, the transmission is incompleted. Adjust the
position of the IR transmitter and IR receiver until
the ON/STANDBY and ON LINE indicators on the
rear amplifier light up in green.
• If the ON/STANDBY indicator on the rear amplifier
flashes in red, it means that the IR receiver is
receiving signals from a different Sony infrared
system. In this case, turn off the other system or
move the IR receiver so that the ON/STANDBY
indicator on the rear amplifier lights up in green.
• The LED of the IR transmitter does not turn off while
the system is on. This is not a malfunction. To turn
off the LED of the IR transmitter, set the system to
Power Saving Mode (page 59).
Tip
The IR transmitter stand can be rotated for the
adjustment.
