by a service technician to restore the product
to its normal operation.
If the product has been dropped or damaged
in any way.
When the product exhibits a distinct change in
performance this indicates a need for service.

order to prevent damage to the panel surface.
In case of greasy dirt, wipe gently with a lint-free
cloth slightly moistened with water.
• Do not use a chemical cloth or spray cleaner. It

Important Safety Instructions
Common Phenomena of the TV Panel
Defective Spots on TV Panel
The TV panel is manufactured with high-
precision technology. It consists of large
number of pixels. However, some of them may
appear constantly on the screen as black spots,
brilliant spots of light (red, green or blue) and/or
illuminated spots (pixel of white colour).
Residual Image
When a still image or On Screen Display menu
is displayed on the screen for a short time
(about a minute) and then switched to another
image, it may leave an “after-image” on the
screen. The residual image will disappear on
its own.
Surface on TV Panel
The TV panel is made with fine processing
glass. Therefore do not impact strongly on the
panel surface as this may cause damage to it.
The Usage Under Low Temperature
Environment
Due to the structural characteristics of the TV
panel, the response speed of the TV panel
becomes slower when the ambient temperature
around the panel becomes too low. In some
cases, it may cause the residual image. The
residual image will disappear on its own as the
temperature goes up and back to normal.
The following are common phenomena when operating the TV panel. This is a structural property of the
TV panel that is adapted to the industry standards and will have no impact on the performance of the
product.

Important Safety Instructions
3D Viewing
With 3D viewing technology, images taken from
slightly different positions are pulsed in very fast
sequence into each eye, creating an illusion
of depth if viewed with the special glasses that
are supplied with this TV set. It is important to
wear these glasses when viewing in 3D mode
as otherwise the 3D images will appear blurry
and colours out of alignment. If you normally
wear glasses, just fit the 3D glasses over your
prescription glasses.
CAUTION:
Wearing of 3D glasses for an extended time
may cause a headache, fatigue or dizziness in
certain people.
If you are concerned about these potential
effects of 3D viewing, avoid prolonged viewing
and use your own judgment to avoid eye strain
and/or headache or dizziness.
If your eyes show signs of fatigue or dryness,
stop 3D viewing and rest. Do not resume
3D viewing for at least 30 minutes after the
symptoms have subsided.
If you experience a headache, nausea,
dizziness or feel slightly disoriented while
viewing 3D, take frequent breaks or stop
watching and rest to lessen the potential of
these effects. Alternatively, take off the glasses
and continue normal viewing in 2D mode.
Consult your doctor, paediatrician or eye
specialist before allowing children under age 6
to watch 3D images.
Only allow older children to view 3D images
under adult supervision, and limit their viewing
time.
To ensure comfortable 3D viewing:
Make sure to wear the specially supplied 3D
glasses.
Make sure all 3D settings are appropriately set
on the TV (see pages 25-26 for details).
Sit at a comfortable distance away from the
screen. We recommend keeping a distance of
at least three times the height of the TV screen,
and installing the screen so your eyes are level
with the screen.
Limit your viewing time to 1 hour. For longer
movies, take a break of 10-15 minutes every
hour.
Block direct sunlight from your viewing area
and switch off any fluorescent lighting nearby.
Position the TV Set
Place the TV on a firm and flat surface, leaving
a space of at least 10cm around the TV set and
30cm from the top of the TV set to the wall or
cabinet.
• Place the TV set where it cannot be pulled, pushed
or knocked over.

Remote Control
Using the remote control
When using the remote control, aim it at the
remote control sensor at the front of the unit.
Make sure there are no large obstacles between
the remote control and the main unit.
Do not drop the remote control unit; do not
subject it to physical shocks.
Bright sunlight or lightning may cause erratic
operation.
Use of the unit near fluorescent lighting may
cause interference when using the remote
control. If the unit is displaying erratic behaviour,
move it away from any fluorescent lighting.
Keep the remote control dry. Wetting it may
cause malfunction.
Replace the batteries when remote control
operation deteriorates.
Battery precautions
Always follow the precautions below when using
batteries:
CAUTION: Danger of explosion! Ensure to insert
batteries according to the polarity markings.
Clean the battery contacts and those of the
device prior to installation.
Replace all batteries at the same time with fresh
batteries of the same size and type.
Do not mix old and new batteries, different types
of battery (alkaline, carbon-zinc or recharge-
able), or rechargeable batteries of different ca-
pacities. Mixing different types of battery could
cause leakage or rupture.
Remove the batteries when the unit is not in
use for a long time to avoid leakage. Batteries
can leak chemicals that can damage electronic
parts.
Dispose of batteries promptly and properly, ob-
serving any local hazardous waste regulations.
Do not burn or bury them.
Note that there are chargeable and noncharge-
able batteries. Do not attempt to charge non-
chargeable batteries.
Keep batteries away from children. If you sus-
pect a battery may have been swallowed, seek
immediate medical assistance.
Inserting Batteries
Place two AA size batteries in the remote control’s battery compartment, making sure to match the polar-
ity markings inside the compartment.
