The installation process requires the waste fitting to be installed at the same time as the base.
Atlantis recommends this is undertaken by a qualified plumber and carpenter.
Atlantis showers are supplied with Sturdibond to adhere the base to the floor substrate. It is
recommended that Gorilla Grip is used if the temperature drops below 5 degrees.
FLOOR PREPARATION – STEP ENTRY on any floor type
1. Sweep floor free of dust
2. Provide a hole for the waste fitting to a minimum size of 150mm x
200mm, FIGURE 1, in the correct position to suit the shower base.
3. Dry fit the shower base onto the flooring to ensure it is able to be
installed level. The top of the glazing channel(s) and top edges of the
upstands must be level. The floor of the shower base must slope
towards the drain.

FLOOR PREPARATION – Timber Recess – Level Entry
1. Measure and mark the floor recess 5mm larger than the overall shower base size.
2. Provide a hole for the waste fitting to a minimum size of 150mm x 200mm, FIGURE 1, in the correct position to
suit the shower base supplied.
3. Cut and remove floorboards. Refer to the recess depth guide chart at the end of these instructions, for a guide
of the recess depth required, and trim joists to the correct level, if required. Apply extra blocking around the
perimeter of the recess and between existing floor joists. Attach trimmers beside joists, fit full flooring in
between and flush with the top of the joists. (excess flooring in diagram)
Atlantis recommends that the shower base is on site to verify the recess depth details.
4. Dry fit the shower base
into the recess to ensure
it is able to be installed
level. The top of the
glazing channel(s) and
top edges of the
upstands must be level.
The floor of the shower
base must slope
towards the drain.
FLOOR PREPARATION – Concrete Recess – Level Entry
1. Create a recess in the concrete slab 5mm larger than the overall shower base size. The recess should be a
minimum of 50mm deep. Refer to recess depth guide chart at the end of these instructions.
2. Provide a hole for the waste fitting to a minimum size of 150mm x 200mm, FIGURE 1 in the correct position to
suit the shower base supplied.
3. Use levelling compound to create a suitably deep level platform, in the recess, for the shower base.
Please refer to the recess depth guide chart at the end of these instructions for a recess depth guide. Atlantis
recommends that the shower base is on site to verify the recess depth details.

4. Once the levelling
compound has set, dry fit
the shower base into to
recess to ensure it is able
to be installed level. The
top of the glazing
channel(s) and top edges
of the upstands must be

WASTE PREPARATION
5. Separate the components of the waste into:
- A. the inner ring and waste cup
- B. the waste body and body seal
6. Connect the waste body to the pipework, FIGURE 2, ensuring that the body seal is in the correct position and
25mm below the floor level, as in FIGURE 2 and 3

7. Clear the recess or floor of all debris and dust
8. Apply supplied construction adhesive liberally to the webbed support rings, the shower base perimeter and the
length of the underside of the channel drain.
9. Install base in final position, ensuring that is it level (as per instruction # 4)
10. The inside face of the upstand must be close to flush with the inside face of the wall board.
11. Screw the upstand of the shower base back to the extra nogging.
12. Allow suitable time for the base adhesive to cure. Keep the shower base surface free from dust and dirt prior to
the application of your base interlayer/waterproofing/tiles to the base.
WASTE CONNECTION
13. Insert the inner ring through the waste outlet in the shower base and screw the inner ring into the waste body.
Hand tighten using the installation key.
14. Place the waste cup and easy clean component (not pictured) into position within the inner ring.
BASE TO FLOOR CONNECTION ANGLE – TIMBER FLOOR ONLY
The Floor Connection angle is supplied as an optional way to create a secure connection between the shower base and
bathroom flooring. To attach the angle, apply silicone. Ensure corners and joints are well sealed. Take into
consideration: under-tile heating, tile underlay and tile thickness before installing the floor connection angle.
Refer to the “Floor Preparation – Timber Recess” instruction and look at the base profile diagram to see the “Floor
connection angle” in place.
IMPORTANT NOTES
- The wall glazing channels must be fitted to the wall after
waterproofing, prior to tiling.
- When tiling a shower base that is 1100mm or larger, the
shower floor tile surface should be a minimum of 6mm
below the top edge of the base glazing channel. Refer to
figure 4.
THIS IS ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT WHEN SLIDING DOOR
SCREENS ARE BEING FITTED – for door clearance.
- Recess depths noted are a guide only. The shower base
should be used to verify the recess required.
