1. First recommendations:

Media type functionality & features and choose the most appropriate media.
3. It is essential you have the media type correctly calibrated with the printer, consult the
Calibrate
my printer document.
4. In order to get a correct display, it’s also essential you have the monitor calibrated, consult the
Profile my monitor document.
5. Open the EFI Designer Edition RIP.
6. EFI Designer Edition RIP settings, Preferences:
Select Color tab:
o Color output preset: Select Photo.
o Image profiles > Input RGB: Select the profile of the scanner or camera you
have used to get the photo (source profile), press Add profile button to add it. If
you don’t have it, select one of the list and Perceptual.
o Image profiles > Input CMYK: Euroscale Coated v2 (for Europe), U.S. Web
Coated (SWOP) v2 (for US) and Japan Standard v2 (for Japan). Select the Add
profile button to add it. If you don’t have it, select one of the list and Perceptual.
o Media profiles (output):
Paper name: Select the paper type that is loaded in the printer (always
calibrated).
Print quality: 1200 x 1200.

Select the Layout tab:
o Orientation: Select the orientation of your image on the paper.
o Set the Alignment and the Scaling settings you need.
Select the Printer tab:
o Paper size: Select the paper size of the media loaded in the printer.
Select OK.
7. Select the Add button, browse to your file and select Open or drag and drop the file to the
spool panel.
8. Check the print layout before printing, select the file and press the Preview button, if it is ready
select Print. If you need to retouch any settings, you can do it in the Individual Job Settings
(View menu > Job Info).
