The SuperServer 5018A-TN7B is a compact, low-power server comprised of two
main subsystems: the SC510-203B 1U server chassis and the A1SRM-LN7F-2758
single processor motherboard. Refer to the Supermicro web site for operating

1-2 Motherboard Features
At the heart of the SuperServer 5018A-TN7B lies the A1SRM-LN7F-2758, a single
processor motherboard based on the Intel Atom System on a Chip. (see Figure
1-1 for a block diagram).
Processors
The motherboard supports a single Intel Atom C2758, SoC FCBGA 1283, 20W
8-Core processor.
Memory
The motherboard has four DDR3 UDIMM sockets that can support up to 64 GB of

in x8 width only, in sizes 16, 8, 4, or 2 GB.
Serial ATA

I/O Ports
The motherboard includes seven gigabit Ethernet LAN ports, including a shared
IPMI port, seven USB 2.0 connectors (four rear ports, three headers), one SATA
DOM power connector, two serial connectors (one rear port, one header), and one
VGA port.
LAN Ports
The system features seven GbE LAN ports, including six LAN bypass (SW
programmable) ports with SoC I354, I350-AM2 and I210-AT.

1-3 Server Chassis Features
The SuperServer 5018A-TN7B is built on the SC510-203B, a small form factor 1U
rackmount server chassis. The following is a general outline of the main features.
System Power
The system has a single 200 watt low-noise AC-DC power supply with PFC (part
number PWS-203-1H).
Drives
The chassis is designed to support one 3.5" internal hard drive or up to four 2.5"
internal hard drives. The internal drives are not hot-swappable.
Control Panel
The control panel provides system monitoring and power control. LEDs indicate
power on, network activity, hard disk drive activity and system overheat. The control
panel also includes a main power button and a reset button.

Chapter 2
Installation in a Rack
This chapter provides instructions for mounting your chassis in a rack.
2-1 Preparing for Setup
The box in which your system was shipped should include the mounting screws
to mount the system into the rack. Please read this chapter in its entirety before
beginning the installation procedure.
Choosing a Setup Location
Decide on a suitable location for the rack unit that will hold your system. It should
be a clean, dust-free area that is well ventilated. Avoid areas where heat, electrical

Ambient Operating Temperature
If installed in a closed or multi-unit rack assembly, the ambient operating
temperature of the rack environment may be greater than the ambient temperature
of the room. Therefore, consideration should be given to installing the equipment
in an environment compatible with the manufacturer’s maximum rated ambient
temperature (Tmra).

arise due to uneven mechanical loading.
Circuit Overloading
Consideration should be given to the connection of the equipment to the power

Reliable Ground
A reliable ground must be maintained at all times. To ensure this, the rack
itself should be grounded. Particular attention should be given to power supply
connections other than the direct connections to the branch circuit (i.e. the use of
power strips, etc.).
To prevent bodily injury when mounting or servicing this unit in a rack, you
must take special precautions to ensure that the system remains stable.
The following guidelines are provided to ensure your safety:

in the rack.

Power: The main power switch is used to apply or remove power from the power

power but maintains standby power. To perform many maintenance tasks, you must
unplug system before servicing.
Reset: The reset button is used to reboot the system.
