Welcome to the December 2001 edition of Tenor
®
Notes
New Tenor Functionality:
T.38 FAX Support: This new, much-demanded feature will be included in the next Tenor release! This new
protocol offers greater compatibility when transmitting FAX between Tenors and gateways from other vendors.
DASS 2: DASS 2 is a proprietary E1 signaling protocol widely deployed by British Telecom in the UK telephone
network. Quintum has now implemented this protocol, making the Tenor fully compatible with PBX switches in
DASS 2 networks. Any clients with switches supporting DASS 2 can benefit from this new feature.
GateKeeper-to-GateKeeper Functionality: The newest release of the Tenor GateKeeper has enhanced
capabilities to communicate with gatekeepers in other networks. Using the H.323 standard LRQ and LCF
commands, this feature makes it possible to interoperate with gatekeepers from other vendors that support
LRQ/LCF, and build highly scalable networks with many zones.
New Partners:
AVAYA: Quintum has been accepted into Avaya’s Developer Connection Program as a Premier Member.
Avaya recognizes the added value that the Tenors can offer to AVAYA’s ECLIPS product line. Look for more
details about our joint solution in future Tenor Notes.
Funk Software: Funk is the premier software supplier of RADIUS (Remote Authentication Dial-In User Service)
software solutions. Funk Software's Steel-Belted Radius expands upon the basic RADIUS/AAA functionality,
adding support for the widest variety of network access equipment and back-end data systems.
VODA ONE: Quintum announced late last month that it has signed a distribution agreement with convergence
channel provider, Voda One Corp. This new partnership allows Quintum’s VARs and resellers to offer their
customers better availability for Quintum products and additional complementary products for complete solutions.
