Notes for February, 2004
Quintum Names New President: Quintum
®
Technologies, Inc., is proud to announce that Kurt Baumann
has joined Quintum as its president. Kurt brings us over 10 years of running companies in high growth markets, both
domestically and internationally. Baumann’s main focus will be to leverage Quintum’s position in the VoIP market, and
high growth expansion of the VoIP deployments, to accelerate Quintum’s growth.
Tenor Monitor Due for Release at Internet Telephony show: The new
Tenor DX now includes Quintum’s new extremely flexible, user-friendly VoIP network monitoring tool. The Tenor
Monitor allows network managers to monitor up to 1000 alarms, 10,000 call events and 10,000 Call Detail Records on
Tenor equipped VoIP networks, right from their PC. By providing graphical visibility into conditions on the network,
Tenor Monitor makes it easy for network managers to maintain optimum voice quality while reducing network
ownership costs. Tenor Monitor greatly simplifies VoIP network monitoring with intuitive navigation, integrated email
capability, online debug traces, easy to use reposting facilities and context sensitive online help.
Data can be placed into a choice of statistical line charts and tables, with multi-column sorting capability. Records are
color-coded, enabling network managers to easily determine the criticality of the
alarm, call state and disconnected cause code. Tenor monitor also provides telnet
Command Line Interface (CLI) to a Tenor simply by entering its IP address.
Tenor Monitor is included free of charge on Quintum’s new Tenor DX Switches. The complete spec sheet can be found
at: http://www.Quintum.com/

VoIP Wireless Solution Using Tenor: Quintum has developed an app note that discusses how service
providers can deploy a wireless local access solution that will allow them to offer VoIP in conjunction with wireless
broadband data. This cost effective solution allows wireless broadband links to carry both data and voice with high
quality and reliability, by-passing the existing wired local network or extending the network reach to areas where
broadband network infrastructure is not well developed. Read the app note at:
http://www.quintum.com/main/wireless_broadband.html
. Quintum has partnered with Wi-Lan, a global provider of
broadband wireless communications products, to offer this bundled solution for VoIP wireless, utilizing Tenor VoIP
Switches.
Services Management Platform For Tenor: Quintum has a new app note on our website that shows
how service providers can deploy an integrated and cost effective service management system that addresses many
of the operational challenges of integrating VoIP into an existing network or deploying a new VoIP network. Process
automation and the ability to deploy expanded service offerings without added expense or equipment, are but a few
of the capabilities. The result is reduced time to market and improved revenues. The app note on this exciting new
product can be found on our website at: http://www.quintum.com/main/appnote_iphone4less.html
. Quintum has
partnered with IPhone4Less, a provider of carrier software solutions and wholesale telecommunications services, to
offer a joint VoIP network solution utilizing the IPhone4less SMP and Quintum Tenor VoIP Switches.
Quintum Products Allow Service Provider to Offer Extended Local Dialing: Quintum’s
Tenor VoIP MultiPath Switches have been incorporated into an innovative Canadian Service Provider’s SIP-based
infrastructure. The Tenors are in more than nine POPs across the province of Manitoba to allow them to offer their
residential customers unlimited calls for one flat fee, using VoIP. You can read the complete case study at:
