1 Introduction
TheCyberDataSIPenabledVoIPIntercomisadoorentrydevicethateasilyconnectsintoexistinglocalareanetworks(LANs)
withasinglecableconnection.Itstamperproofdesignallowstheunittobemountedsecurelyandsafely.Theintercomalso
hasadrycontactrelayswitchwhichallowsyoutounlockdoorsremotely.
1.1 NetworkTopology
ThisisthenetworktopologyforasingleVoIPintercomconfiguration.Inthisconfiguration,theVoIPintercomactsasa
standalonetwowaySIPtelephonydevice.

3 Preparation
Thissectionprovidesinstructionsforhowtoapplyfirmwareupdates(ifnecessary)andhowtosetupthedeviceformanual
configuration.
3.1 PCNetworkSettings
ThefactorydefaultonCyberDataproductsisastaticIPaddress.Toaccessthedevice,youmustchangeyourPCtothesame
subnet.
NOTE:Makeanoteofyouroriginalnetworksettingsbeforemakinganychangesbecauseyoumustchangethesesettings
backafterchangingthenetworkconfigurationonthepagingdevice.
TochangetheIPAddressofyourcomputerforWindowsServer2008/WindowsVista
1. ClickWindowsStart.
2. ClickControlPanel.
3. Ifyouhavetheclassicview,clickNetworkandSharingCenterandthenclickManageNetworkConnections.
Ifyouhavethecategoryview,clickNetworkandInternet>ViewnetworkstatusandtasksandthenManageNetwork
Connections.
4. DoubleclicktheactiveLANorInternetconnection.
5. ClickProperties.
6. IntheNetworkingtab,highlighttheInternetProtocol(TCP/IP)item,andclickProperties.
7. IntheGeneraltab,clickUsethefollowingIPaddress,andenter:
IPAddress:192.168.3.1
SubnetMask:255.255.255.0
DefaultGateway:192.168.3.10

1. OpenyourbrowserandtypetheIPAddressoftheintercom.Thefactorydefaultis192.168.3.10.

3.3 DeterminingtheIPAddressoftheIntercom
ThepagingdevicehasanRTFM(ResetTestFunctionManagement)switchthatallowsyoutotestorresetthedevice.This
functionalsohasthecapabilitytoannouncetheIPaddress.Thisisuseful,forexample,whenyouareusingthepagingdevicein
aDHCPnetworkconfigurationandneedtoknowtheIPaddress.
TodeterminetheIPaddressofthepagingdevice
1. Unplugtheintercom.
2. InstalltheRTFMjumper.
3. Plugthenetworkcableintotheintercomtosupplypowertotheintercom.TheLEDwillilluminateduringinitialization,
blinkonce,andthenturnoff.
TheIntercomwillannouncetheIPAddress.
3.4 FirmwareUpgrades
RefertotheTechnicalNote“TN051SIPDeviceFeaturesandComparisons”(aversioneddocumentlocatedonthe

)todeterminethemostrecentlysupportedversionof
firmwareforthedevice.
3.4.1 PerformingFirmwareUpgrades
Ifyouarerunningversion1.02orbelow,youmustdownloadthemostrecentfirmwareversion,whichcanbedownloadedfrom
theCyberDatawebsite.
Toperformtheupgrade
1. RetrievethelatestfirmwarefromtheCyberDatawebsite.(http://www.cyberdata.net/support/voip/intercom.html
)
2. UnzipthefiletotheObjectworldTFTPfolder(locatedin:X:\ProgramFiles\Objectworld\UCServer\Data\TFTPwhereX
isthedrivewheretheUCServerprogramfilesareinstalled)
3. Openyourbrowserandtypethe IPAddressofthepagingdevice.
4. Whenprompted,usethefollowingdefaultWebAccessusernameandpassword:
WebAccessUsername: admin
WebAccessPassword: admin
5. ClicktheUpgradeFirmwarebutton.
6. EntertheIPaddressofyourUCServerintheTFTPServerIPfield.
7. UnderNewFilename,enterthefilenameofthefirmwareimagethatyouunzippedfromthefirmwarezipfile.

8. ClickUploadFile.

4.1 GatheringInformation
Toconfigurethedevice,youneedthefollowinginformation.
SIPUserID: Thisisequivalenttotheidentityaddressthatyouwanttoassociatewiththedevice.
AuthenticateID: ThisistheSIPauthenticationidentifierassociatedwiththeaboveidentity.Thisisrequired
byanySIPendpointtoregisterwiththeSIPPBX.
AuthenticatePassword: ThisistheSIPauthenticationpasswordassociatedwiththeaboveidentity.
4.1.1 DeterminingtheAuthenticationIDandPasswordastheuser(thatownstheidentity)inUCClient
TodeterminetheAuthenticationIDandPassword
1. StartUCClient.
2. Loginastheuseryouwanttoassociatetothedevice.
3. Inthebottomleftpane,takenoteoftheidentityname.
4. ClicktheiconontherightandselectSIPAuthentication.
5. RecordtheUser/loginnameandpasswordfromthefollowingdialogbecauseyouwillneeditlatertoconfigurethedevice.
4.1.2 DeterminingtheAuthenticationIDandPasswordastheadministratorinUCClient
TodeterminetheAuthenticationIDandPassword
1. StartUCClient.
2. Loginastheadminuser.
3. SelecttheIdentitiestabintheleftpane.
