IRP-2U and IRP-3U, Instructions
1) Place the Receiver Eye on or near your TV or flat Screen.
2) Determine which is your best power source option; Either AC power supply
plugged directly into the electrical outlet or use the detachable USB to
connect to any active USB port
3) Connect the Emitter (Dual or Triple depending on which kit) to the 3.5mm
output from the splitter running the cable to the components you are going
to control with the IR
4) Place each of the IR Emitter directly over the IR sensor located in the front
panel colored window of each component you want to control. You can
locate it by looking up the front panel of the components user guide or
manually find it using a flashlight to locate the sensor. Note if the
component does not respond to the signal try holding the emitter four to five
inches from the components sensor and try again. If the emitter now works
then you will need to replace the adhesive strip with the one featuring the
smaller 1/16” opening. This prevents over saturation.

Device does not respond to remote control
TROUBLE SHOOTING
1. Check to see if the receiver flashes when remote keys are pressed.
2. Check to see if the IR emitters flash when IR signal is transmitted.
3. Check to see if the LED on the power supply is on when plugged in.
4. Make sure the emitter is placed directly on top of the IR sensor located on the
front panel of the Set top Box or other device. You can locate the sensor by using
a flashlight. It is located behind the front panel bezel and will look square. You
can also check the device’s user guide if you still have it or check on-line
5. Make sure the remote batteries are new. Do not mix old and new batteries
ATT-Uverse and Direct TV Set Top Boxes
Every once in a while the repeater does not seem to work with certain models of ATT-
Uverse and Direct TV boxes, although the issue might not be isolated just with these
brands. They are the only one’s that we have encountered.
We have found that the IR emitter signal floods (or saturates) the front IR sensor of the
box. We have included a strip of the mounting tape with a 1/16” hole. This eliminates
the issue. Simply place the mounting tape directly over the existing tape.
Placement of the IR Blaster (IRP-BU Kit)
The IR blaster works best in a enclosed cabinet or closet, etc. It can be placed on any
flat surface. Clean surface before mounting to insure strongest adhere possible. The
blaster can be placed on the top device over hanging pointing downward toward the
other devices. For -3- or more devices stacked or in the same area but not stacked we
suggest purchasing and extra blaster IR5521M and our dual mono splitter IR9324G.
Place one on top of the facing down and the other on the bottom of the stack facing
upwards. The blaster can also be placed on the inside of the cabinet door so when the
door closes the blaster is facing all the devices. Bottom line is you may want to
experiment to find the optimum location.
Placement of the IR Emitters (IRP-2U, 3U, 4U & 6U)
Locate the IR sensor on the front panel of the device as described above in point
number 4. Clean area before mounting to insure strongest adhere possible. If the
device does not respond when remote key is pressed refer to trouble shooting for ATT-
Uverse and Direct TV boxes.
