guide and the safety manual thoroughly and
completely. Follow the safety information to avoid
damage or injury.
CAUTION
Risk of impairing the residual hearing of the client!
> In order to achieve correct tting results, clients
mu be able to answer queions concerning

tting procedure shall only be used for persons
who are mentally capable to answer queions
concerning their hearing correctly.

Step 2: Determine and set
the sound prole
Overview
Every hearing
inrument has a
choice of sound
proles. These
are pre-congured
setups of the
hearing inrument, for typical hearing losses.
You need the client’s audiogram to determine the
suitable sound prole. With the rocker switch, you
set the correct sound prole.
Note that the rocker switch has a double function:
A short press makes the hearing inrument louder or
softer. A long press changes the sound prole.

to the hearing inrument type you have chosen in
"Step 1: Select the hearing inrument type".
Mark the row for the dB-value at 0.5 kHz.
Mark the column for the dB-value at 2 kHz.

To set the determined sound prole in the hearing
inruments:
> Use a ethoclip to hear the
syem sounds better.
> Insert a battery and wait for the artup-melody to
ensure that the inrument is turned on.
15
> To switch to the next sound prole, hold down the top
of the rocker switch and release it after a minimum of
10 seconds.
On release, the sound prole is changed and a
conrmation tone is played.
Note that the factory setting is sound prole 1.

> To switch to the previous sound prole, proceed as
described above, but hold down the bottom of the
rocker switch.
If you turn off the hearing inrument immediately
after changing the sound prole, the sound prole
change may not be saved. Wait 5 seconds before
turning the hearing inrument off.
16
Step 3: Select ear piece and
tube length
Overview
Select the ear piece,
cut the tube and
assemble the
hearing inrument.
Inruction
> Select the ear piece that suits the client’s ear canal
size and assemble it with adapter and tube.
Start with the bigger ear piece.
17
CAUTION
Risk of injury!
> Make sure your client always wears the tube
with an ear piece.
> Make sure that the ear piece is completely
attached.
> If you provide cuom-made
ear pieces, we recommend using
them with sound prole 4 for
STF P T3 and with sound proles
2, 3 or 4 for STF XP T3.
> Turn off the hearing inrument and place the hearing
inrument on the client’s ear.
18
> Insert the ear piece in the client's ear and measure the
correct tube length. Mark it with a pen before cutting.
At a safe diance to the client, cut the tube. Attach the
tube to the hearing inrument.
> Insert the hearing inrument in the client’s ear and
turn it on.
19
Step 4: Te
Overview
Try different volume levels or, if necessary,
change the sound prole.
Note that the rocker switch has a
double function: A short press makes
the hearing inrument louder or softer.
A long press changes the sound prole.
Inruction
The target is to ensure that volume and sound of the
hearing inrument is to the requirements of the client.
-  Explain client how to adju the volume with the
rocker switch.
-  Speak to the client (normal loudness) and let the
client increase the inruments' volume to a
comfortable level.
20
If the client needs more gain:
> Briefly press the top of the rocker
switch to increase the volume.
Repeat as necessary.
> If the client ill requires more
gain, switch to the next sound
prole: Hold down the top of the
rocker switch and release it after a
minimum of 10 seconds. Refer to
section "Set the sound prole".
If the highe sound prole is ill too soft:
> Select STF XP T3.
> Or, if you have already selected STF XP T3, the
STF T3 series of hearing inruments may not be
suitable  .
