This guide explains how to easily connect a computer to the projector using a
wireless LAN
*
. For a detailed explanation of the operating method, see "Operating
the Projector from a Computer via a Network" in the EasyMP Operation Guide.
* The connection method described in this guide uses an ad hoc wireless LAN connection.
For details on connecting using an access point, see “Connecting to an Access Point
with Wireless LAN” in the EasyMP Operation Guide.

Installing EasyMP Software
Procedure

Turn on the computer.

Insert the EasyMP Software CD-ROM into the
computer.
For Windows
The installer starts automatically.
For Macintosh
In the "EPSON" window, click the "Installer for Mac OS X"
icon. The installer starts.
Installation starts. Follow the instructions on the screen.
Click "Install" on the software selection screen.
Click "Yes" on the license agreement screen to continue
installation.
Select the virtual display to use on the "Add/Remove
EPSON Virtual Display" screen.
You need "Virtual Video Driver" to use "Multi-screen
Display". If you do not install it here, you can install it
later. (Select "Start" - "Programs" - "EPSON Projector"
- "Add and Delete EPSON Virtual Display")

Click "Finish" to complete the installation.
Next, SlideMaker2 and EMP Monitor are installed. Continue
by following the instructions on the screen
If this screen is displayed
Select "Yes"
(Windows 2000) or
"Continue Anyway"
(Windows XP).
If installation does not start
Select "Start" - "Run", and then in the "Run"
dialog box type the letter for your CD-ROM
drive followed by ":\\Epsetup.exe" and then
click the "OK" button.

Check the orientation of the included Wireless LAN unit, and install it
to the projector.
You can lock it in place with the screw included.

Preparing the Projector
First, connect the Wireless LAN unit to the projector.
Con rm the projector's network settings
How to operate by using the remote control (included).
Use the [
] button to move and the [Enter] button to con rm.
Procedure

Press the [Power] button on the remote control
to turn on the projector.

Press the [Menu] button on the remote control.
The confi guration menu is displayed.

Select "Network".
The network menu is displayed.

Select “To Network Con guration”.
The Network settings screen is displayed.

Select "Basic" and set "Projector name" and
"Projector keyword".

Select "Wireless LAN" and set "ESSID".

Press the [Menu] button on the remote control.
The confi guration menu closes.

Network setting "Basic" screen
Item Explanation
Projector name The name of the projector. The name set here is displayed in the projector list
when connected.
EMPxxxxxx (xxxxxx is a specifi c number) is displayed. Change it to an easy to
remember name.
Enter alphanumeric characters.
Enter example: EPSON001
PJLink Password Not necessary to set.
Web Control Password Not necessary to set.
Projector keyword When set to "ON", a keyword must be entered when connecting to the network.
This can prevent computers from making unscheduled connections and
interrupting presentations.
Usually this should be set to "ON".
Network setting "Wireless LAN" screen
Item Explanation
Connection mode Set "Quick Connection Mode".
Antenna level Displays the electromagnetic wave strength for the wireless LAN.
Wireless LAN system Set the wireless LAN system as either "802.11g/b" or "802.11a".
ESSID Displayed as "EPSON". You can change it or leave it as it is.
DHCP
Not necessary to set.

In "Quick Connection Mode" one computer can connect to one projector (1 to 1 connection).

Press the [Power] button on the remote control
to turn on the projector.

Press the [EasyMP] button on the remote
control.
The EasyMP screen is displayed.

For Windows
Select "Start" - "Programs" - (or "All
Programs") - "EPSON Projector" - "EMP NS
Connection".
EMP NS Connection starts.
For Macintosh
In the volume of the hard disk where EMP NS
connection is installed, double-click the
"Applications" folder and then double-click the
EMP NS Connection icon.
EMP NS Connection starts.
If the screen on the right is displayed during start up, click
the "Yes" button.
When "Yes" is clicked, a fi rewall exception is created for
EMP NS Connection and it is then available.

Select "Quick Connection Mode" and click
"OK".
The projector is searched for and the search results are
displayed.

Select the projector you want to connect to.

Click the "Connect" button.

If the keyword entry screen is displayed, enter
the projector keyword (four digits) that is
projected on the EasyMP screen, and click
"OK".
The computer and the projector are connected via the network.
The EMP NS Connection tool bar is displayed on the computer
screen. You can use this tool bar to operate the projector, make
settings, and disconnect from the network.

When the target projector is not found
Check that the projector's power supply is on
and that the EasyMP screen is displayed. It is
also possible that the electromagnetic waves of
the wireless LAN are too weak to reach. Check
that the projector is not too far away.
When there are too many projectors displayed
You can narrow the search by performing the
following operation.
1 Click "Manual search".
2 Enter the ESSID for the target projector and
click the "Enter" button.
When the following message is displayed when you click the "Enter" button
"The selected projector is busy. Do you want to continue the connection process?" Because
interrupt is prohibited you cannot connect while the selected projector is connected to another
computer.

Connecting a computer for the
rst time
When the projector and the computer are
connected via a USB cable, the application
automatically starts to install.
If you want to cancel installation, select
"Decline" on the "Licence Agreement
Screen".
If a "Digital Signature Warning" screen is
displayed, select "Continue".
When uninstalling the application
Select "Start Menu" - "EPSON USB Display"
- "Delete EPSON USB Display".
* Installation and Uninstallation must be carried
out by a user with administrator privileges.
Attention
Do not connect via a hub, connect the projector and the computer directly.
The picture quality and the transfer rate decrease when the computer’s USB standard is USB
1.1. We recommend using USB standard USB 2.0 with the computer.
Depending on the computer specifi cations, you may not be able to connect.
