KT-Elektronik SOL3-5
The SOL3-5 is a controller for solar thermal systems, and includes at max. nine temperature sensor inputs, five switching
outputs, one pulse input and one 0-10V input or output.
The controller is ready to use with the temperatures and operating schedules preset by the manufacturer. On start-up, the
current time and date need to be set at the controller.
This Quick manual contains necessary information for installation and start up.

Systems
The SOL3-5 provides 72 different hydraulic systems. These differs in basic system components and extentions.
Basic system components Extentions
number of collector arrays,
number of storage tanks,
switching between collector arrays and storage tanks using
valves or pumps,
internal (or non) or external heat exchanger
heating circuit,
auxilary heater,
circulation pump
The system variants are characterised about a multi-digit system identifier for the choice by basic system components and
extentions. The order of the system identifier becomes clear with the help of the followed shown hydraulic systems.
The schemes below are only schemes, without any kind of basic valves and security equipement. A system scheme is
identified by a explicit system schema indicator (e.g. I o 2. I.0)
System I  I.0.0
1 collector array, 1 storage tank
System 2  I.0.0
2 collector arrays (valve),
1 storage tank
System 3  I.0.0

Check and modify times-of-use
There are three independent sets of times-of-use for:
heating circuit, hot water circulation, auxilary heating.
For systems that do not contain the functional groups mentioned, this chapter
has no meaning, the display and input of times-of-use is not offered by the
SOL3-5.
Three times-of-use can be set for each day of the week. If only one time-of-use is
required, start and stop of second time-of-use must be equal.

Check and set party mode
Using the Party mode function, the controller continues or activates the day
mode during the time when the party timer is active, regardless of the
programmed times-of-use. The activation of the party mode (count down) starts
with turning the rotary switch to any operating mode position (e.g.information
level). When the party timer has elapsed, the party mode timer is reset to 00:00.
The party mode counts down in steps of 15 minutes and ranges up to 48 hours.
