4. Speaker Placement
Notice in the 5.1 Home Theater
example (see Figure 4) that the
center channel speaker is
placed above or below the TV,
as close as possible to seated
listening ear height. If a mesh
viewing screen is used, it can be
placed behind the screen.
Remember, most of the movie
dialog content comes from the
center channel, so it needs to
be near the actor images. This
example shows our angled in-
ceiling speakers used for the
other front and surround
speakers.
In the 7.1 Home Theater
example (see Figure 5) the
center channel speaker is
again placed above or below
the TV (or behind the screen),
as close as possible to seated
listening ear height. This
example shows our angled in-
ceiling speakers used for the
front speakers, while our in-
wall speakers are used for the
surround speakers.
