We congratulate you on the purchase of your new
product. You have chosen a high quality product. The
instructions for use are part of the product. They con-
tain important information concerning safety, use and disposal.
Before using the product, please familiarise yourself with all of the
safety information and instructions for use. Only use the unit as
described and for the specified applications. If you pass the prod-
uct on to anyone else, please ensure that you also pass on all the
documentation with it.
Intended use
This Bluetooth
®
speaker is a consumer electronic device and is
intended for playing audio signals. This device is splash-proof
(IP X4) and can therefore also be used in moist rooms, e.g. bath-
rooms or showers. The built-in microphone further allows the device
to be used as a hands-free device for taking or placing calls. It is
designed for private use and not suitable for commercial purposes.
This product is not intended for medical, life-saving or life-sustaining
use. Any other or additional use is considered improper. Claims

of any kind due to damages from non-intended use or forbidden
changes at the device are excluded. This user bears all risk.

Safety
This chapter provides important safety information for handing the
device. Improper use can result in personal injury and property
damage.
Basic safety notices
Please follow these safety notices for safe handling of the device:
Check the device for visible external damage before use. Do
not use the device if damaged or dropped.
Do not expose the device to direct sunlight or high temperatures.
It may otherwise overheat and be damaged beyond repair.
Do not operate the product near heat sources such as radiators
or other devices producing heat.
Do not place burning candles or other open fire on or next to
the device.
The device may heat during charging, place the device in a
well ventilated location during charging and do not cover.
The device‘s rechargeable battery must only be charged in
dry environments, as it is not protected from splash water
when the charging socket connector socket it open.
Please also note the instructions for use from the manufacturer
of the charger.

DANGER Do not attempt to open the device, it has no inter-
nal parts requiring maintenance.
DANGER
The device has a built-in rechargeable lithium
polymer battery. Improper handling of lithium
polymer batteries can result in fire, explosions,
hazardous substances leaking, or other danger-
ous situations!
Do not independently convert or modify the device.
Repairs to the device must be performed by authorised spe-
cialised companies or customer service. Improper repairs
may result in considerable danger to the user. They will also
void the warranty.
Regularly check the suction cup is safe for use and not damaged.
Do not use the suction cup on porous or uneven surfaces.
Otherwise the device may fall. The suction cup sticks to
smooth surfaces best, e.g. mirrors or smooth tiles.
DANGER
Suffocation hazard! Never play with the packaging materi-
als (e.g. film or polystyrene). Always keep children away from
the packaging material. The packaging material is not a toy.
Keep electrical devices away from children. Persons with re-
duced physical, sensory and mental capabilities should not
use electrical devices, unless they are instructed and super-
vised by a competent person. This loudspeaker is not a toy.
Keep the packaging away from children and persons with
disabilities. There’s the risk of suffocation.

If you detect smoke, abnormal noises or smells, immediately
switch the device off and disconnect the USB-cable.
Do not throw the device into fire and do not expose to high
temperatures.
Chemicals leaking from a lithium polymer battery can irritate
the skin. Rinse with plenty of water in the event of contact
with the skin. If the chemicals come into contact with the eyes,
always rinse with plenty of water, do not rub, and seek imme-
diate medical attention. Take particular care when handling
damaged or leaking batteries. Risk of injury! Wear gloves.
DANGER
Radio interface
Switch the device off on airplanes, in hospitals, service rooms, or
near medical electronic systems. The wireless signals transmitted
could impact the functionality of sensitive electronic devices. Keep
the device at least 20 cm from pacemakers or implantable cardio-
verter defibrillators, as the electromagnetic radiation may impair
the functionality of pacemakers. The radio waves transmitted could
cause interference in hearing aids. Do not place the device near
flammable gasses or potentially explosives areas (e.g. paint shops)
with the wireless components on, as the radio waves emitted can
cause explosions and fire. The range of the radio waves depends
on environmental conditions. In the event of wireless data transmis-
sion, unauthorised third parties receiving the data cannot be ex-
cluded. OWIM GmbH & Co KG is not responsible for interference
with radios or televisions due to unauthorised modification of the

device. OWIM GmbH & Co KG further assumes no liability for
using or replacing cables and devices not distributed by OWIM.
The user of the device is fully responsible for correcting interference
caused by such unauthorised modification of the device, as well
as replacement of such devices.

any packaging materials.
Operation and use
This chapter contains important information and operating and
using the device.

Charging
The built-in battery rechargeable battery must be fully charged
before using the device.
ATTENTION
Always charge the battery in dry environments.
Switch off the device.
Connect the USB plug on the charging cable

to a PC or a
USB adapter (not included).
Connect the micro-USB plug on the charging cable

to the
charging socket

on the device. The power LED

will
light up red and the battery will be charged.
NOTE
The power LED
1
will light up red whilst charging and extin-
guish once the battery is fully charged.
The charging time is approx. 2 hours at a charging current of
500 mA and provides up to 3 hours of music playback. The
playback time may vary by use (volume).
When the battery is drained, a signal will sound every 5 sec-
onds and the battery must be recharged. You can also use the
device whilst charging.

Connecting the device to a
Bluetooth

playback device
The device must be paired with a compatible Bluetooth
®
playback
device before use.
Be sure the device is off and the Bluetooth
®
playback device
is on.
Set the Bluetooth
®
playback device to scan for Bluetooth
®
devices. Please refer to the operating instructions from the
manufacturer of your Bluetooth
®
playback device for a de-
tailed description.
Press and hold the button

for approx. 2 seconds to
switch the device on and activate the Bluetooth
®
function.
Two signal tones will sound and the power LED will flash blue
at a every half second.
Select the entry HG00085 from the list of devices found by
your Bluetooth
®
playback device and enter the code “0000“,

if necessary, to pair the devices. The power LED will now flash
blue every second.
When the device is successfully paired you can use it for wireless
playback of your favourite music.
NOTE
After switching on, the device will automatically reconnect to
the last Bluetooth
®
playback device. If your Bluetooth
®
play-
back device does not reconnect to the device, you will need
to manually restore the connection to your Bluetooth
®
play-
back device. Please refer to the operating instructions from
the manufacturer of your Bluetooth
®
playback device for a
detailed description.
Using the buttons
Button Function
Press and hold to switch the device on / off and
enable/disable the Bluetooth
®
function.
Press once to play/stop music playback.

Press once to increase the volume by one level.
Two signal tones will sound when the maximum
volume has been reached.
Press and hold approx. 2 seconds to skip to the
next track.
Press once to reduce the volume by one level.
During playback, press and hold approx. 2 sec-
onds to skip back to the beginning of current title.
Repeatedly press and hold approx. 2 seconds to
jump to the previous track.
Press once to accept or end a call on a paired
mobile.
Press twice to redial the last number on the
mobile.
NOTE
Any availability of the function depends on the used player
and / or mobile phone.
Cleaning
ATTENTION
Potential damage to the device
Moisture entering the device may result in damage.

Ensure no moisture enters the device during cleaning to
prevent damaging the device beyond repair. Be sure the
charging socket

is closed tightly.
Do not use corrosive or scouring cleaners or cleaners con-
taining solvents. These can damage the surface of the device.
Only clean the device with a slightly damp cloth and mild
washing-up liquid.
Storage when not using
Store the device in a dry location from dust, protected from
direct sunlight.
The rechargeable battery has to be charged periodically.
Troubleshooting
If you‘re unable to pair the device with a compatible Bluetooth
®
playback device, please proceed as follows:
Verify the function is enabled on the music device.
Verify the device is switched on.
When using multiple music devices, be sure to disconnect a
previous connection. A previously paired device could still be
within range.
Ensure the device is no more than 10 metres from the music
device and there are no obstacles or electronics in the way.

Disposal
Disposing of the device
The adjacent symbol of a crossed out dustbin on
wheels indicates this device is subject to Directive
2012 / 19 / EU. This directive states at the end of the
life this device must not be disposed of through regular household
refuse but must be returned to special collection sites, recycling
depots or waste management companies.
This disposal is free of charge to you. Protect the
environment and dispose properly.
Please contact your local waste management company or the city /
municipal administration for more information.
Disposing of the packaging
The packaging protects the device from transport damage.
The packaging materials were selected based on eco-friendly
and waste management aspects and are therefore recyclable.
Returning the packaging to the material flow reduces
the use of raw materials and waste.
Dispose of packaging materials which are no longer needed
according to applicable local ordinances.
