PRECAUTIONS

To maintain good performance

Do not use the unit in places which are extremely hot, cold, dusty or humid. In

particular, do not keep the unit:

●in a high humidily area such asa bathroom

●in an area exposed to direct sunlight (e.g., inside a parked car, please be

careful because it may become extremely hot)

Note on listening with the headphones

●Listen at a moderate volume to avoid hearing damage.

● Do not wear the headphones while driving or cycling.

It may create a traffic hszard.

● You should use extreme caution or temporarily discontinue use in potentially

hazardous situations, such as walking, jogging, etc.

● Wear them properly; L is left, R is right.

Cassette tapes +

● Take up any slack in the tape with a pencil or similar to-o\before use. Slack

tape may break or lam in the mechanism.

● 100-minute or longer tapes are extremely thin and easily deformed or damaged.

They are not recommended.

MAINTENANCE

To clean the head and the tape path

Afferevery 10hours of use, clean the head and the tape path with a commercially

available head cleaning cassette. For details, refer to the operating instructions

of the head cleaning cassette. Afler cleaning the head and the tape path with a

liquid head cleaning cassette, wait until the cleaned parts dry before inserting

tapes.

To clean the cabinet

Use a soft cloth lightly moistened with a mild detergent solution.

Do not use strong solvents such as alcohol, benzine or thinner.

USING ON DRY CELL BATTERIES+ ❑

Open ths battery compartment snd insert a size AA (R6) baftary with the

O and O marks correctly aligned.

Battery replacement

Replace the battery when the OPE/BATT indicator becomes dim or the baep

sound is heard during playback.

Note on dry cell battery

*To prevent the risk of electrolyte leakage or explosions, never recharge the

battery, apply heat to it, or take it apart.

● When not using the battery, remove it to prevent needless battery wear,

● If liquid leaks from the battery, wipe thoroughly to remove.

USING ON AC HOUSE CURRENT

Contact yourAiwa dealer and purchase an AC adaptor. Connect the plug of the

AC adaptor to the DC 1.5 V jack and to a wall outlet.

● Las cintas de 100 0 mtis minutes son extremadamente finas y tienden a

deformar o dafiarse f~cilmente. Nose recomienda su utilizaci6n.

MANTENIMIENTO

Para Iimpiar la cabeza y la trayectoria de la cinta

Despw$s de cada 10 horas de USO,Iimpie la cabeza y la trayectoria de la cinta

con un casete Iimpiador de cabezas adquirido en tiendas del ramo. Para m~s

detalles, lea Iasinstrucciones de uso del casete Iimpiador de cabezas. Despu6s

de Iimpiar la cabeza y la trayectoria de la cinta, espere hasta que Ias partes

Iimpiadas se sequen antes de utilizar la cinta,

Para Iimpiar la caja

Utilice un paifo suave Iigeramente humedecido en una soluci6n poco

concentrada de detergence,

No utilice disolventes fuertes tales como alcohol, bencina o dikridor de pintura.

ALIMENTACION CON PILAS + ❑

Abra el portapilae y coloque una pila tamafio AA (R6) con Ias marcas O y

O correctamente alineadas.

Reemplazo de Ias pilas

Cambie la pila cuando el indicador OPE/BATT se oscurece o se escucha una

alarma durante la reproducci6n.

Nota sobre la pita

● Para evitar que se produzcan fugas de electr61ito o explosions, no cargue la

pita, caliente o desarme.

Cassettes +

● Retendez la bande avec un crayon ou un objet similaire avant d’dcouter une

cassette. Une bande d+tendue risque de se couper ou da s’emm?iler clans Ie

mf$canisme.

● Les caesettes da 100 minutes ont des bandes extr~mement fines qui se

d$forment ou s’ab?ment facilement. II n’est pas conseil16 de Ies utiliser.

ENTRETIEN

Nettoyage de la t&e et du paesage de la bande

Toutes Ies 10 heures d’utilisation, netfoyez la t&e et Ie passage de la bande

avec une cassette de nettoyage disponible clans Iecommerce, Pour Ies d6tails,

consultez Ie mode d’emploi de la cassette de nettoyage. Aprbs Ie nettoyage de

la t&e et du passage de la bande avec une cassette de netfoyage de t&e A

Iiquide, attendez que Ies parties nettoy6es soient sbches avant d’ins6rer une

cassette.

Nettoyage du coffret

Utilisez un chiffon doux k$gbrement imprdgm-$d’une solution d6tergente neutre.

N’utilisez aucun solvant puissant comme de I’alcool, de la benzine ou du diluant.

FONCTIONNEMENT SUR PILES SECHES -+n

Ouvrez Ie Iogement de la pile et inserez une pile format AA (R6) en

respectant Ies polarites 0 et O.

Replacement de la pile

Remplacez la pile quand I’indicateur OPE/BAIT devient moins Iumineux ou

quand des tonalit& bip retentissent pendant la lecture.

Remarques sur la pile seche

● Pour 6viter tout risque de fuite d%lectrolyte ou d’explosion, ne rechargez jamais

la pile, ne la chauffez pas et ne la d6montez pas.

. Quand la pile n’eet pas utilis6e, retirez-la pour 6viter toute usure inutile.

● Si du Iiquide fuit de la pile, essuyez-le enti&’ement,

After setting the VOLUME control of the main unit to around 6 to 8, adjust the

VOL control of the remote control.

After you press the buttons above, operation starts with a signal beep sound.

Note

After you press button, if “hip, beep” is heard and then operation does not start,

check to see that battery does not wear out or that the unit is in the hold mode.

For tapes recorded with Dolby B NR

Set the DOLBY NR switch to ON to reduce tape hiss.

Music sensor function

You can search for the beginning of a track during playback if there is a 4-

second or longer blank between tracks.

To focate the beginning of the current or previous tracks, press the REW

buttonupto 5 times duringplayback.

To locate the succeeding tracks, press the FF button up to 5 times during

playback.

While the unit is searching for a beginning of a track, beep sound is heard

corresponding to the number of tracks to search.

To repeat a track (One track repeat)

Ifthere is a 4-second or longer blank between the tracks, you can play back the

current track repeatedly.

Keep the <› REPEAT button pressed during playback for 2 seconds.

“Bip, beep” is heard and one track repeat playback starts.

To cancel, press the<> REPEAT button.

When operating with the remote control, press the REPEAT button.

To select a reverse mode -+ E

Set the BLANK SKIP switchas follows.

OFF/Z3: Both sides are played back once. Playback stops at the end of the

reverse side.

ON/CZJ: Both sides are played back repeatedly.

If a blank section lasting longer than 12 seconds is detected on the

tape, that section is automatically fast forwarded and pfayback

resumes from the beginning of the next recorded section.

Note

The music sensor, one track repeat and blank skip functions may not work

properly in the following cases:

● when the recording level of the tape is low

● when operations are performad around the blank section

Tape type

Set the TAPE switchto select the tape type,

NORM: For Type I (normal) tapes

H1/MTL:ForType 11(high/Cr02) and Type IV (metal) tapes

Multi sound processor +

You can enjoy music with four different equalization modes (CLASSIC, POP,

ROCK, JAZZ). Turn the M%*P control to select an equalization mode according

to your preference.

CLASSIC: Round, balanced mix from high range to low range. Good for classical

music.

POP:

Emphasizes low and mid ranges.

ROCK: Emphasizes the low range.

JAZZ: Emphasizes the low range with greater bass effect.

Tape direction memory

The playback side does not change when the tape stops, The next time the

<› REPEAT button is pressed, playback starts on the same side, However,

playback starts from the front side of the tape after:

● The cassette holder is opened.

● The dry cell battery is removed.

Caution

Do not attempt to open the cassette holder forcibly if it cannot be opened. This

may result in the unit being broken. To open the holder replace the dry cell

battery with new one,

Para cambiarla cara de reproducci6n

Despw% de presionar Ios botones anteriores, empieza el funcionamiento con

un sonido biip.

Nota

Despu& de presionar un boton, si se escucha “hip, biip” y no empieza a

funcionar, compruebe que la pila no est~ gastada o qua no esta en el modo de

retenci6n.

Para cintas grabadas con la reduccion de ruidos Dofby B

Mueva el interruptorDOLBY NR a ON para reducirel ruidode la cinta.

Funcion del sensor de musics

Puede buscar el principiode una canci6n durante la reproducci6n, si hay un

espacio en blanco de 4 segundos o mas entre canciones.

Para ubicar el principio de fa cancir5n actual o anterior, presione el bot6n

REW hasta 5 veces durante la reproducci6n.

Para ubicar una canci6n m& adefante, presione el bot6n FF hasta 5 veces

durante la reproduction.

Cuando el aparato esta buscando ef principiode una cancion, se escucha un

sonido bfip correspondiente al nbmero de canciones buscadas.

Para repetir una cancion (repetition de la misma cancion)

Si hay un espacio en blanco de 4 segundos o m~s entre canciones puede

repetir la reproducci6nde la canci6n actual.

Mantenga presionado 2 aegundos el bot6n <

➤ REPEAT duranta la

reproducci6n.

Se escucha “b@,biip” y empieza la repetici6n de la reproduction de una cancion.

Para cancelar, presione el bot6n <

➤REPEAT.

Para hacerlo con el control remoto, presione el bot6n REPEAT.

Para seleccionar un modo de inversion + E

Seleccione el interruptor BLANK SKIP de la siguiente forma.

OFF/=: Se reproduce ambas caras una vez. La reproduction se detiene al

final de la cara trasera.

ON/C2: Se repite la reproduction de ambas caras.

Si hay una secci6n de m& de 12 segundos en la cinta, esa seccion

avanza automaficamente y sigue reproduciendo al principio de la

siguiente secci6n grabada.

Nota

El sensor musical, la repetici6n de la misma pista y Ias funciones de salto de

espacios en blanco pueden no funcionar correctamente en Iossiguientes cases:

● cuando el nivef de grabaci6n de la cinta es bajo

● cuando se hacen operaciones en una secci6n en blanco

Memoria de sentido de movimiento de la cinta

La cara de reproducci6nno cambiar~cuando se pare la cinta. La pr6xima vez

que presione el bot6n <› REPEAT la reproducci6nse iniciar~ en la misma

cara. Sin embargo, la reproducci6n se iniciar~ desde la cara frontal despu6s

de:

● Haber abierto et porfacasete.

● Se ha sacado la pila.

Precauci6n

No trate de abrir el casetero a la fuerza, si no puede abrirse. Puede romper el

aparato. Para abrir el comparfimiento,cambfe la pita por otra nueva.

A la pression des touches ci-dessus, l’op&ation commence avec une tonalile

hip.

Remarque

Apr& la pression d’une touche, si “Bip, Beep” retentit et que l’op6ration ne

demarre pas, verifiez si la pile n’est pas 6puis6e ou si I’appareil n’est pas en

mode de maintien.

Pour Ies cassettes enregistrr5es avec la reduction du bruit Dolby B

Regfez Ie commutateur DOLBY NR sur ON pour r6duire Ie sifffement de la

bande.

Fonction dr$tecteur de muaique

Vous pouvez rechercher Iedebut d’une piste pendant la lecture s’il y a un espace

de 4 secondes ou plus entre Ies pistes.

Pour focaliser fe debut des pistes presente ou precedences, appuyez sur la

touche REW jusqu’a 5 fois pendant la fecture.

Pour focaliser fes pistes suivantes, appuyez sur la touche FF jusqu’a 5 fois

pandant la lecture.

Des tonalib% beep correspondent au nombre de pistes A rechercher se font

entendre pendant que I’appareil recherche Ie d6but d’une piste.

Pour r6p6ter une piste (repetition d’une piste)

Sil y a un espace de 4 secondes ou plus entre Ies pistes, vous pourrez Iire la

piate presente de manibre repetee,

Maintenez la touche <› REPEAT pressee 2 eecondes pendant la lecture.

La tonalite “hip, beep” retentit et la repetition d’une piste d6marre.

Appuyez sur la touche <

➤REPEAT pour annuler.

Appuyez sur la touche REPEAT Iors du contrdle avec la t@16commande,

Reglez fa commande BLANK SKIP comme suit.

OFF/=: Les deux faces sent Iues une seule fois, La lecture s’arr6te a la fin de

la face inverse,

ON/CZJ: Les deux faces sent Iues de manibre rep6tee.

Si un espace vide de PIUSde 12 secondes est detecte sur la bande,

cette section sera automatiquement Iue rapidement et la lecture

reprendra au debut de la section suivante enregistr6e.

Remarque

Le d&ecteur de musique, la r6p#rtition d’une piste et la fonction de saut des

parties vierges peuvent ne pas fonctionner clans Ies cas suivants:

● quand Ie niveau d’enregistremant de la bande est faible

● Iors d’operations aux environs de la section vierge

Type de cassette

R6glez Ie commutateur TAPE pour s61ectionner Ie type de bande.

NORM: Pour Ies cassettes de type I (normal)

H1/MTL: Pour Ies cassettes de type 11(high/CrOz) et IV (m&al)

La face de lecture ne change pas quand la bande s’arr~te. A la pression suivante

de la touche <

➤REPEAT, la lecture d~marre sur la m~me face. Toutefois, la

lecture d6marre sur la face avant de fa cassette quand:

● Le logement de la cassette a &r$ ouvert.

● La pile sbche est retiree,

Attention

N’essayez pas d’ouvrir de force Ie Iogement de la cassette s’il ne s’ouvre pas,

Cela pourrait provoquer une panne de I’appareil. Pour ouvrir Ie Iogement,

remplacez la pile sbche par une neuve,
