ANALOGUE SIGNAL PROCESSING
The versatility of the ASP510 makes it
possible to assemble simultaneous 5.1 and
LCRS masters while also producing and
monitoring an LtRt encoded output.
The 5.1 mix derived from the mixing
console is routed directly to Multitrack
Recorder B whose play output is connected
to the ASP510 SURROUND PLAY B port.
This recorder can be monitored by
depressing the SURROUND PLAY B
source selection switch (record/playback
switching is then performed by the
recorder).
The LCRS mix from the console is
connected to the ASP510 via its
SURROUND BUS port with the LCRS
recorder interfaced via the
SURROUND A RECORD and PLAY ports,
monitoring is via the SURROUND A
RECORD AND PLAY monitor source
selection switches.
Dolby Surround encoders and decoders
are connected to the ASP510 ENCODER
and DECODER connectors. With the
STEREO RECORD SOURCE set to
ENCODER both 2 track machines are fed
with the encoded LtRt mix. The two track
machines can be monitored using the
STEREO RECORD and PLAY A/B source
selection switches. By depressing the
ASP510 ENCODER/DECODER insert
switch the LtRt mix can be decoded back
to LCRS prior to monitoring.
If a Dolby Surround encoded output is not
required a simple downmix of the LCRS
source may be output to the 2 track
machines by selecting DOWNMIX as the
STEREO RECORD SOURCE.
Compatibility checks are possible at all
times using the MONITOR FORMAT
selection switches.
