Scales Quick Start Guide
OPERATION
POWER On/Off: To turn scale on, Press ON/OFF. Scale conducts a display
test. When the weight display appears, scale is ready to weigh.
To turn scale off, press ON/OFF.
OFF
appears briefly and display goes off.
Zero Operation
Zeroing corrects the influence of slight changes on the weighing pan.
Manual: Unload scale and press ZERO. The zero display appears.
Automatic: As standard, the zero point of the scale is automatically corrected
when scale is unloaded. (Automatic zero point correction is a menu setting.)
Weigh
Place item to be weighed on the pan. The display indicates gross weight
in the selected measuring unit.
Tare: Place an empty container on the pan and press TARE.
The Net weight and NET indicator are displayed.
To clear Tare value, remove container and press TARE. (Or press Clear.)
Auto-Tare: If A-tArE is activated in the menu
(see next page)
, when the T symbol flashes,
place container on scale. Its weight is automatically tared. Zero and NET appear, and display
shows weight of contents when placed in container. Tare weight is cleared automatically when
scale is unloaded.
Chain Tare: (activate CHAIn.tr in menu)
Tare several times: Place first container on scale, press TARE. Zero and NET appear.
Weigh sample, record result. Place second container on scale, press TARE again.
Total weight on scale is saved as new tare weight; zero display appears.
Add new sample to weigh, and record result. Repeat as needed.
ADDITIONAL OPERATIONS
Changing Unit of Measure
Press Units to toggle between units available for active use.
To add units, press MENU and go to Display to activate other available units:
lb – pounds, oz – ounces, kg – kilograms, g – grams, or t – taels.
(See back page for help using the Menu. Use Unit-Roll menu for access to all units.)
Dynamic Weighing (Note mouse graphic next to battery symbol.)
Use this setting to weigh moving samples, like live animals.
Scale calculates mean value of 56 weighing operations in 4 seconds.
Use the Applications/Average menu to choose either Manual or Auto:
Manual: Place sample on scale; when ready,
press PRINT. Dynamic weighing begins.
Auto: Place sample on scale;
dynamic weighing starts automatically.
During dynamic weighing, horizontal segments appear in the display.
Weighing result (average of 56 readings) is displayed with the symbol *.
Note: To reset to normal weighing when finished with dynamic weighing:
Press Menu then go to the Applications/Average menu, and choose OFF, then Reset.
