Thoroughly inspect the roof rack of a vehicle, to ensure, that it can withstand the
dynamic load of antenna with 32 kg. Before assembly inspect, that the roof rack is in
good condition. For adjusting and fixing the mounting brackets seek the assistance of
technicians to keep safety and safe operation of the vehicle.
When the antenna ANT1500 is properly mounted, it increases vehicle height by at least
26.5cm above the roof of the vehicle. This includes a minimum 2.5cm gap between
atenna and roof of the vehicle necessary for air circulation, plus the height of the
antenna itself 24cm. Be aware of the new vehicle height with the antenna mounted
above the roof rack. Be careful when driving through underpasses, when underground
parking and other areas of the reduced underpass.
1.2. Set Top Box Compatibility (STB)
Some STB are more sensitive than the others and may cause a degradation in performance
during marginal conditions, such as heavy rain, heavy snow and also when it is partially
blocked the view to the satellite („Line of sight“ (LOS)). STB model should be selected to
ensure the compatibility of the selected SAT receiver with antenna. To achieve the best
quality picture it is appropriate to consult with the technical support from MOLPIR the type,
model STB, as well as initial setting of STB and IDU unit of the antenna itself.
1.3.Reception of mobile satellite TV
Antenna ANT1500 is designed to receive satellite television via the Direct Broadcast
Satellite (DBS) satellites, located 35,000 km in space. This system requires a clear view to
the skies above the equator to maximize the signal reception. Other factors, such as
satellite coverage area, elevation angle, and weather also contribute to the signal quality.
Satellite coverage
You must be located within the satellite’s coverage area for proper reception. As you begin
to travel outside of this coverage area, the signal becomes weaker.
Line Of Sight (LOS) interruption
The SR1500 antenna needs a clear line of sight (LOS) or view to the satellite for
uninterrupted reception. Objects such as buildings, mountains, bridges, tunnels and trees
that block this view will cause a loss of signal. The signal will, however, be quickly restored
once the antenna has a clear LOS again.
Line of Sight The system ANT1500 needs to have a clear line of sight (LOS) - line of
sight (LOS) to the southern sky , in order to receive the satellite signal. Placing the antenna
too close to other equipment on the roof, such as A/C units, may interfere with the signal
reception. Use the chart below to determine the minimum distance needed between the
antenna and the the potential LOS blockage.

If the vehicle is parked, rain, morning dew, or snow in winter may accumulate on the
antenna. This may cause interference to satellite signal. When the vehicle is in motion
any standing water should be drain down the antenna and interference should cease.
Clean the antenna cover with a clean soft cloth if necessary. Some anti-water products
are intended, to prevent the accumulation of water, snow and dew on the cover of the
antenna. If you will use them, you will avoid these conditions.
1.4.System overview
Antenna ANT1500 provides live satellite TV in a vehicle while in motion as well as while
being stationary. Antenna is suitable for installation on any vehicle. It includes the actual
roof antenna (ODU), antenna control unit (IDU), necessary cables and installation material.
Antenna is designed, determined and robust enough for operation on the roof of the vehicle
for.
Antenna ANT1500 is available in two versions:
Uni Pol/Single polarization - (one cable connection) antenna has one output and
thus provides output signal only in one polarization (HORIZONTAL or VERTICAL) and
that either in Low or High band
Dual Pol antenna has three outputs and thus provides output signal in HORIZONTAL
and VERTICAL polarization and in Low as well as High band.
According to the selected version will result from antenna into the vehicle interior 1, 2
or 3 coaxial cables.
IMPORTANT: ANT1500 Outputs, which are not in use, must be blinded by TNC-BLEND
(optional equipment of Antenna).
1.5. Power supply requirement
Electrical consumption of the components of antenna ANT1500 is described in detail
below.
Standard energy consumption is important for the general dimensioning of the power
system of the vehicle.
Maximum power consumption is determined according extreme conditions, where the
antenna uses full power of the DC engine to rotate the platform of antenna and also
running of the stepper engine tilt of active panel of the antenna.
It is necessary, that the total power consumption before planning antenna took into
account another consuption for peripherals . Actual installation should be made by
those skilled in the art.

2 Installing the Antenna on a vehicle roof
For selecting the location on the rooftop consider these guidelines:
Select flat surface
Do not place antenna close to mechanical blockage (A/C unit etc…) to not block
satellite view
Do not place antenna close to 3G/4G antennas to avoid electromagnetic
interferences
Determine where the antenna cables will enter into vehicle´s interior. This is
usually in the cab area or close to place, where the power source is located. When
placing the antenna on the roof, side of antenna with TNC connectors should be
facing the point of entry of cables into vehicle.
