Thoroughly inspect the roof rack of a vehicle, to ensure, that it can withstand the
dynamic load of antenna with 32 kg. Before assembly inspect, that the roof rack is in
good condition. For adjusting and fixing the mounting brackets seek the assistance of
technicians to keep safety and safe operation of the vehicle.
When the antenna ANT1500 is properly mounted, it increases vehicle height by at least
26.5cm above the roof of the vehicle. This includes a minimum 2.5cm gap between
atenna and roof of the vehicle necessary for air circulation, plus the height of the
antenna itself 24cm. Be aware of the new vehicle height with the antenna mounted
above the roof rack. Be careful when driving through underpasses, when underground
parking and other areas of the reduced underpass.
1.2. Set Top Box Compatibility (STB)
Some STB are more sensitive than the others and may cause a degradation in performance
during marginal conditions, such as heavy rain, heavy snow and also when it is partially
blocked the view to the satellite („Line of sight“ (LOS)). STB model should be selected to
ensure the compatibility of the selected SAT receiver with antenna. To achieve the best
quality picture it is appropriate to consult with the technical support from MOLPIR the type,
model STB, as well as initial setting of STB and IDU unit of the antenna itself.
1.3.Reception of mobile satellite TV
Antenna ANT1500 is designed to receive satellite television via the Direct Broadcast
Satellite (DBS) satellites, located 35,000 km in space. This system requires a clear view to
the skies above the equator to maximize the signal reception. Other factors, such as
satellite coverage area, elevation angle, and weather also contribute to the signal quality.
Satellite coverage
You must be located within the satellite’s coverage area for proper reception. As you begin
to travel outside of this coverage area, the signal becomes weaker.
Line Of Sight (LOS) interruption
The SR1500 antenna needs a clear line of sight (LOS) or view to the satellite for
uninterrupted reception. Objects such as buildings, mountains, bridges, tunnels and trees
that block this view will cause a loss of signal. The signal will, however, be quickly restored
once the antenna has a clear LOS again.
Line of Sight – The system ANT1500 needs to have a clear line of sight (LOS) - line of
sight (LOS) to the southern sky , in order to receive the satellite signal. Placing the antenna
too close to other equipment on the roof, such as A/C units, may interfere with the signal
reception. Use the chart below to determine the minimum distance needed between the
antenna and the the potential LOS blockage.
