Important cord information
This appliance has a polarized plug. To reduce the risk of electric shock,
this plug only fits into a polarized outlet in one way. If the plug does
not completely fit into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit,
contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any
way.
a) A short power supply cord (or detachable power supply cord) should
be used to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in, or
tripping over a longer cord.
b) Longer detachable power supply cords or extensions cords may
be used if they are used carefully.
c) If a longer detachable power supply cord or extension cord is

Additional safety instructions
Connect this appliance only to correctly installed power sockets
supplying a voltage of 120V ∼, 60 Hz.
Always remove the power cord from the socket by pulling on the
plug, not on the power cord itself.
NEVER hold the motor unit, the power cord, or the plug with wet hands.
Do not open the housing of the appliance motor unit. Should you do
so, the safety of the appliance can no longer be assured and the
warranty will become void.
This appliance shall not be used by children.
Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children.
Appliances can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory
or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge, if they
are under supervision or have been told how to use the appliance
safely and are aware of the potential risks.
Children shall not play with the appliance.
Check the appliance hopper for presence of foreign objects before
using.
Handle the extremely sharp blade with caution as it can cause inju-
ries. Reassemble the appliance after using and/or cleaning it so that
you do not injure yourself with the exposed blade. Keep the blade
out of the reach of children.
NEVER attempt to remove coffee beans from the bowl as long as the
blade is still rotating. Risk of injury!
Wait until the blade has come to a complete stop before removing
the lid. NEVER try to grasp the blade if it is still rotating! Risk of
injury!
Do not use the appliance to crush ice cubes! This will irreparably
damage the appliance!

Setup / initial start-up
1) Clean the appliance as described in the section "Cleaning and
maintenance".
2) Place the appliance on a stable and level surface.
3) Unwrap the power cord from the cord retainer and pass the
cord through the recess on the housing edge.
4) Insert the plug into a power socket.
The appliance is now ready for use.
Grinding coffee beans for filter coffee
1) Remove the lid from the motor unit .
2) Fill it with the required quantity of coffee beans.

3) Put the lid on. Ensure that the switch  lies over the square
recess on the edge of the housing of the motor unit .
4) Press and hold the switch  until the coffee beans have been
ground to your requirements (approx. 25 seconds).

The coffee grinding grade is influenced by the quantity of coffee
beans added and the length of grinding.
The longer you grind the coffee, the finer the coffee powder.
Shorter grinding time results in coarser coffee powder.

5) Release the switch  once the coffee beans have been ground
to your requirements and wait until the blade is at a standstill.
6) Take the lid off and disconnect the plug from the power supply.
You can now remove the coffee powder using a spoon or similar.
You can clean the remnants out with the cleaning brush .
Grinding espresso beans for espresso
Coffee powder for espresso always requires very fine grinding.
Ensure that you grind the special espresso beans for an appropriate
time (approx. 25 seconds) when preparing espresso coffee.
When grinding espresso beans, proceed exactly as described in the
section "Grinding coffee beans for filter coffee", but use the following
guidelines:
0.63 oz (18 g) of espresso beans for 2 cups of espresso.
1.27 oz (36 g) of espresso beans for 4 cups of espresso.

Cleaning and maintenance
Risk of electric shock!
Always remove the plug from the power socket before you clean the
appliance.
Ensure that you never submerse the appliance motor unit in
liquid, and never allow liquid to enter the motor unit housing .
Risk of injury!
Take great care when handling the blade . It is extremely sharp!
Clean the inside of the motor unit each time you use it with a
dry, soft cloth or the cleaning brush .
Clean the outside of the motor unit each time you use it with a
damp cloth. If there is heavy dirt, add a mild detergent to the cloth.
Rinse detergent residues off with clear water.
Ensure that there are no detergent residues on the appliance and
that the appliance is completely dry before using it again.
Rinse the lid in lukewarm water with a little detergent.
Ensure that all detergent residues have been removed and that the
lid is completely dry before you reuse the appliance.
Storage
Always wipe the appliance down thoroughly before storing.
Wrap the power cord around the cord retainer . Pass the end
of the power cord with the power plug through the recess on the
housing edge.
Store the appliance in a clean and dry location.
Disposal
Electrical devices may not be thrown away as part of normal house-
hold trash. If you can no longer use your electrical device, dispose of
it in accordance with the legal provisions applicable in your state. This
will ensure that old electrical devices are recycled and environmental
pollution is kept to a minimum. Further information about disposal is
available on the Internet at www.epa.gov.

3 year limited warranty
What does this warranty cover?
The warranty covers:
Damage, breakage or inoperability due to defect.
Damage not caused by normal wear and tear or failure to follow the
safety and maintenance instructions provided in the user manual.
What is not covered by the warranty?
The warranty does not cover damage caused by:
Normal wear and tear of the product, including fragile parts (such
as switches, glass, etc.);
Improper use or transport;
Disregarding safety and maintenance instructions;
Accidents or acts of nature (e.g. lightning, fire, water, etc.);
Tampering with the product (such as removing cover, unscrewing
screws etc.)
Consequential and incidental damages are also not covered under
this warranty. However, some states do not allow the exclusion or
limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so this limitation or
exclusion may not apply to you.
What is the period of coverage and warranty resolution?
The warranty is for 3 years from the date of purchase.
At our discretion, product will either be refunded or replaced.
What will we not do?

Start a new warranty period upon product exchange;
