3. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
MPPT 3KW Solar Charger by XMART is a device capable of receiving power from solar panels and using it to
manage system battery charging. This is achieved by MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) technology,
allowing a highly efficient performance (>96%) of peak power generated by photovoltaic panels.
Another advantage of our MPP chargers is having a wide DC Input range compared to PWM chargers. This
feature allows them to adapt to different types of solar panels. Also, this charger can charge battery banks of
12V, 24V, and 48V automatically detecting the Battery Bank voltage and adjusting the charge tension.
ACC-XSI-CHGR-3KW60:
This 3KW model is designed to recharge 12V, 24V, and 48V Battery Banks. For proper operation, Solar Input
must remain in 60V-115V range, with Maximum Open Voltage of 145V.

4. INSTALLATION
Install this unit in controlled environments (IP31) with air free of dust, corrosive vapors, and conductive
contaminants.
Do not install this unit in locations where temperature and humidity limits described by this manual are
exceeded.
Avoid direct sunlight exposition, as well as installing close to either humidity or heat sources.
Ideal installation is on non-Inflammable walls. Drill holes on the wall and fasten with appropriate screws
according to the unit’s weight. Respect indicated distances.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
Before making any connection, make sure there are no dangerous voltages between wires. Cover Solar
Panels from the sunlight before handling cables connected to panels.
Connect Ground cable and then Input Cables and Output Cables according to indications.
Use required wire gauge according to Max. Expected Current for each case (see next page).
Make sure of using either a DC breaker or a DC Fusible DC in Positive Wires of Solar Input and DC Output
of this unit.
Make sure the charger is connected to a voltage source compatible with its voltage specifications
according to product Rating Label and this manual.
Voltage in Batteries and equipment connected to Charger’s output must be compatible selected charger’s
DC Voltage.
Wrong wiring (reverse polarity) may cause permanently damage to this unit.

MPPT 3KW CHARGER / CONNECTION TERMINALS: SOLAR PANELS & BATTERIES
Recharge voltage: 12VDC, 24VDC, or 48VDC (Autodetection)
OPTIONAL SENSORS
RTS: This charger can (optionally) use a Remote Temperature Sensor (RTS) located near batteries. This is
used to compensate recharge voltage by temperature.
BVS: Battery Voltage can be measured more precisely by Battery Voltage Sensor (BVS) Input. This input can
be connected to batteries keeping polarity (+) y (-). On this input, current is quite low (unlike Charging
Terminals). Therefore, battery tension can be measured more accurately.

PARALLEL OPERATION
This charger can operate in parallel with other chargers of the same type if chargers are controlled by
“MPPTracker” software.
Requirements:
1- Each charger must include its own SNMP Card.
2- All chargers must be synchronized from a PC using “MPPTracker” software.
3- Each charger must have its own Solar Panels array (Solar Panels cant be shared)
4- All chargers must recharge the same battery bank, according to next figure:
MPPT CHARGER 3KW
www.xmart-ups.com VER. 2212.20_ESP 13
7. RECHARGE TECHNOLOGY
To improve batteries lifespan, this charger counts on a smart 3 steps algorithm:
1- Constant Current (Bulk)
During first charging stage, charger injects a constant current while batteries increase their voltage. During
this stage batteries recover up to 90% of their total capacity. This stage takes 60% of total recharging time.
Once setting voltage is reached, charger goes to following stage.
2- Constant Voltage (Absorption)
In this stage charger provides stable voltage while current slowly decreases. In this stage batteries recover
100% of capacity. When recharging current drops down to 10% of Max. Recharge Current, charger goes to
third stage.
3- Floating
In this stage, charger reduces voltage & current to keep batteries charged for long time. This is a
maintenance stage.

8. SOPORTE Y GARANTIA
Support: If a failure or problem is detected please check troubleshooting section in user manual. If problem cannot be solved,
please contact authorized service center or authorized dealer.
Batteries: Rechargeable batteries can be charged and discharged hundreds of times. However, they will eventually wear out.
This is not a defect or failure so that batteries wear out is not covered by this warranty.
Battery lifetime will depend on operative conditions like working temperature, type and frequency of discharging cycles. Higher
the temperature shorter will be the lifetime. Frequent and deep discharging cycles also will short lifetime. For critical applications
batteries should be revised and replaced periodically. Long storage (longer than 6 months) without required recharging will wear
out batteries. This situation is not covered by this limited warranty since this is not considered as a defect. Check recharging
instructions on user manual.
