MILIEU

• De verpakking van deze set kunt u als oud papier inleveren (behalve

piepschuim en plastic). Wij adviseren echter om deze te bewaren

zodat bij transport, de set adequaat verpakt kan worden.

APPLICATION

The PAS-500 is a sound system with 1 subwoofer and 2 x 4 line array speakers.

The PAS-500 is powered through a mixing panel or master output from another

amplier, audio source or build in media player. The subwoofer contains three separate

speakers. 1 for the subwoofer and 2 (left and right) for the line array speakers. The line

array speakers may be placed onto the supplied tripods. The line array speakers are

connected to the subwoofer using the speaker cable. The subwoofer is provided with a

volume control for each speaker. These must be set before use. The ultimate volume is

controlled on the external audio source.

FUNCTIONS

SUBWOOFER

1. Multimedia player with USB, SD and Bluetooth

®

(optional).

2. Volume controls. 2 x for line array speakers and 1 x for subwoofer.

3. LED indication. L-peak (peak-left), R-peak (peak-right), SUB-peak (peak-

subwoofer), power LED.

4. Amplier output for line array top speakers (left & right) (no 6.3mm jack) (cables

included).

5. Phase-turn function. Phase of the subwoofer signal can be turned 180 °. Choose

the best bass view.

6. Audio input, left and right (symmetrical), XLR.

7. Audio output, left and right (asymmetrical), XLR (the same signal as the entrance).

8. Mains voltage setting switch for 230V or 115V (standard 230V set).

9. Fuse holder T3.15A (230V setting).

10. Power cord connection.

11. Power supply switch (set on or off).

WARNING/MAINTENANCE

GENERAL:

• Carefully read the user’s manual and follow all directions.

• Before cleaning the speaker, always remove the mains cable from the wall socket

and switch off the speaker.

• Clean the cabinet with a slightly moist cloth.

• Never place or use the set in wet or humid space or environment.

• Ensure adequate heat dissipation; never cover the set nor place it directly next to a

heat source.

• Overload and overheating! The system can withstand long-term overload

damage and is not covered by warranty. Control panel can become very hot

and emit an odor. Advice to reduce the input signal or to decrease the overall

output volume.

• Prevent damaging the mains cable and ensure it doesn’t cause a risk of tripping or

falling.

• Never disassemble the set; this may only be performed by qualied personnel.

• Only turn on the speaker after setting all volume controls to MINIMUM (0), to avoid

possible scares when switching on.

• Prolonged listening to high volume levels can cause hearing damage

BEFORE USE

The PAS-500 functions on the mains.

The PAS-500 line array satellites function on the built-in speakers in the subwoofer and

must be connected using the supplied speaker cables.

MAINS VOLTAGE:

Only connect the PAS-500 subwoofer to a mains voltage of 230 Volt. The mains in most

European countries works on 115 Volt.

Use the supplied power cord to connect the PAS-500 with the mains.

AMPLIFIER SETTINGS

POWER SWITCH:

Use the power switch to switch on the amplier.

INPUT:

Connect an external audio source to the input of the PAS-500.

The connection can be made with XLR.

LEFT/RIGHT VOLUME CONTROL (LINE ARRAY SPEAKERS):

Use the LEFT and RIGHT volume controls to adjust the volume of the line array

speakers. When the volume reaches the maximum level, the related peak LED will

illuminate.

SUB LEVEL VOLUME CONTROL:

Use the SUB LEVEL volume control to adjust the volume of the subwoofer (low pitch).

When the volume reaches the maximum level, the related peak LED will illuminate.

ADJUSTING:

Use the volume buttons to set the correct volume balance between left, right and

subwoofer. This may differ per setup.

THROUGH: (output linked with input signal):

These audio outputs receive the same signal as provided through the input. The signal

may then be linked to a second set or another amplier.

MEDIA PLAYER OPERATION

The media player supports playback of MP3 and WMA

les from a SD/MMC card or USB

stick or audio via a Bluetooth

®

connection.

SWITCHING THE PLAYER ON/OFF:

• As soon as you turn on the PAS-500, the player is automatically switched on.

• Press and hold the MODE button on the player for approx. 2 seconds to manually

turn the player off or on again.

• Press and the MODE button on the player shortly for selection of the Bluetooth

®

function, MP3 stick or SD card.

OPERATION VIA CONSOLE:

press briey to switch between SD/MMC card, USB stick or Bluetooth

®

press to start playback; press again to pause

press to stop playback

repeat button, press repeatedly for the following options:

SINGLE: the current track is played continuously

FOLDER: complete folder is repeatedly panned

RANDOM: tracks are played repeatedly in a random order

- press for previous song

- press and hold to decrease the volume of the media player (USB stick

and SD card)

forward:

- press for next song

- press and hold to increase the volume of the media player (USB stick

and SD card)

PAIRING WITH A

BLUETOOTH

®

AUDIO SOURCE:

To use the Bluetooth

®

function of the PAS-500, the Media player must be paired with the

Bluetooth

®

device containing the music to be played (mobile phone, tablet or other). The

pairing process is as follows:

1. Turn on the search function on the Bluetooth

®

music source (refer to the user’s

manual of that device).

2. Turn on the media player of the PAS-500, and then briey press the “MODE” button

several times until “Bluetooth” appears in the display.

3. Now select “Bluetooth” in the list that appears in the display of the Bluetooth

®

device containing the music to be played.

4. If asked, enter the password or PIN code “0000”.

5. Depending on the device containing the music, you should set this device to not play

music through the headphones output or its own speaker, but to send the signal to

the media player (refer to the user’s manual of that device).

Attention: the media player only plays music and does not support phone calls.

ENVIRONMENT

• The packaging of this baby video monitor can be discarded as waste paper.

However, we advise you to save this packaging so you can adequately

protect the devices for transportation.

• In case the baby video monitor is being replaced, please return it to your

supplier; they will guarantee environment-friendly processing.

Warning: Using the speaker for long periods of time on high volumes can

lead to permanent ear damage. To protect your hearing, please keep in mind

the following:

• Increase the volume starting at the minimum up to a comfortable level.

• Do not listen for long periods of time on high volumes.

• Never increase the volume to outdo or ignore environmental noise.

• Decrease the volume when you cannot hear the people around you.
