x755w 128 GB Flash Drive Firmware Issue
HP is seeing cases where customers aren’t getting the experience expected from the HP
x755w 128GB Flash Drive as a result of a firmware issue. If the drive matches one of the
identification numbers listed below, customers may use one of the options below:
Use a firmware upgrade tool to restore the device (instructions below).
Contact [email protected] for a new HP x755w 128GB flash drive. The replacement
will be shipped immediately, if requested before 4 p.m. ET during Monday-Friday.
To verify if your device is available for a firmware upgrade or replacement unit(s):
1. Remove cap from x755w 128 GB Flash Drive
2. Place drive with HP logo face up under good lighting
3. Verify if your device(s) correspond with one of the numbers listed in the affected Lot#s
chart below

Firmware Upgrade Tool Instructions
1. Backup all data from the USB flash drive to a new
location. All data will be deleted once the application
is run.
2. Once data is backed up, download the recovery tool
(select Warranty and Support and download the
Firmware Upgrade Tool)
3. Execute the application
4. Select the drive associated with the
x755w Flash Drive
5. Click Start
6. Once complete, the data can be copied back to your
HP Flash Drive
If the device is not recognized or the message below is displayed, the device is not eligible for a
firmware upgrade.
