Positioning and connection

Positioning

1. Placetheapplianceinawell-ventilatedhumidity-freeroom.

2. Donotobstructtherearfangrills.Thecompressorand

condensergiveoffheatandrequiregoodventilationto

operatecorrectlyandsaveenergy.

3. Leaveaspaceofatleast10cmbetweenthetoppartof

theapplianceandanyfurnitureaboveit,andatleast5cm

betweenthesidesandanyfurniture/sidewalls.

4. Ensuretheapplianceisawayfromanysourcesofheat

(directsunlight,electricstove,etc.).

5. Inordertomaintainthecorrectdistancebetweenthe

applianceandthewallbehindit,fitthespacerssuppliedin

theinstallationkit,followingtheinstructionsprovided.

Levelling

1. Installtheapplianceonalevelandrigidfloor.

2. Ifthefloorisnotperfectlyhorizontal,adjusttherefrigerator

bytighteningorlooseningthefrontfeet.

Electrical connections

Aftertheappliancehasbeentransported,carefullyplaceit

verticallyandwaitatleast3hoursbeforeconnectingittothe

electricitymains.Beforeinsertingtheplugintotheelectrical

socketensurethefollowing:

• Theapplianceisearthedandtheplugiscompliantwiththe

law.

• Thesocketcanwithstandthemaximumpowerofthe

appliance,whichisindicatedonthedataplatelocatedon

thebottomleftsideofthefridge(e.g.150W).

• Thevoltagemustbeintherangebetweenthevalues

indicatedonthedataplatelocatedonthebottomleftside

(e.g.220-240V).

• Thesocketiscompatiblewiththeplugoftheappliance.If

thesocketisincompatiblewiththeplug,askanauthorised

techniciantoreplaceit(see Assistance).Donotuse

extensioncordsormultiplesockets.

!Oncetheappliancehasbeeninstalled,thepowersupply

cableandtheelectricalsocketmustbeeasilyaccessible.

!Thecablemustnotbebentorcompressed.

Start-up and use

Starting the appliance

!Aftertransportationoftheappliance,carefullyplaceitinan

uprightpositionandwaitatleast3hoursbeforeconnectingitto

theelectricitymains,tomakesureitoperatesasitshould.

• Cleantheinsideoftherefrigeratorwellusingwarmwater

andbicarbonateofsodabeforeplacingfoodinsideit.

• Theappliancecomeswithamotorprotectioncontrolsystem

whichmakesthecompressorstartapproximately8minutes

afterbeingswitchedon.Thecompressoralsostartseach

timethepowersupplyiscutoffwhethervoluntarilyor

involuntarily(blackout).

Freezer Compartment

Whentheproductisswitchedonthefreezercompartmentissetto

itsdefaultvalueof-18°C.WerecommendthattheQUICKFREEZE

functionissetinordertoacceleratethecoolingprocessofthe

compartment;whentheinsideofthecompartmenthasreachedits

optimaltemperaturethefunctionwillbedeactivatedandthefood

maybeplacedinside.

Refrigerator Compartment

Whentheapplianceisswitchedontherefrigeratorcompartment

issettoitsdefaultvalueof+5°C.WerecommendthattheSpeed

Coolfunctionissetinordertoacceleratethecoolingprocessofthe

compartment.Afterafewhoursitwillbecoolenoughforfoodtobe

placedinside.

Navigating the display

Setting the temperatures:

Iftheproductisswitchedon,therefrigeratorandfreezer

compartmentdisplayswillindicatethetemperaturevaluessetat

thatmoment.Tochangethem,simplypressthe-and+buttons

correspondingtothecompartmentforwhichyouwishtochange

thesettemperature.Morespecifically,eachtimethebuttonsare

pressed,thetemperatureincreasesordecreasesandthelevelof

coldgeneratedinsidethecompartmentisadjustedaccordingly.

Thetemperaturevaluesthatmaybeselectedfortherefrigerator

compartmentare+8°C,+7°C,+6°C,+5°C,+4°C,+3°Cand+2°C,

whilethevaluesthatmaybesetforthefreezerare-18°C,-19°C,

-20°C,-21°C,-22°C,-23°C,-24°C,-25°C,and-26°C.IfSpeedCool

functionisactivated,Fridgetemperaturecannotbemodified.If

QUICKFREEZEfunctionsisactivated,Freezertemperaturecannot

bemodified.

Chiller system

No Frost

TheNoFrostsystemcirculatescoldaircontinuouslytocollect

humidityandpreventiceandfrostformation.Thesystemmaintains

anoptimalhumiditylevelinthecompartment,preservingthe

originalqualityofthefood,preventingthefoodfromsticking

togetherandmakingdefrostingathingofthepast.Donotblock

theaerationcellsbyplacingfoodorcontainersindirectcontact

withtherefrigeratingbackpanel.Closebottlesandwrapfood

tightly.

Using the refrigerator to its full potential

• Adjustthetemperatureusingthedisplay.

• ActivatetheSpeedCoolfunctiontolowerthetemperature

quickly,forexample,whenyouplacealargenumberofnew

fooditemsinsideafridgeandtheinternaltemperaturerises

slightly.Thisfunctionquicklycoolsthegroceriesbytemporarily

reducingthetemperatureuntilitreachestheideallevel.

• Placeonlycoldorlukewarmfoodsinthecompartment,never

hotfoods(seePrecautionsandtips).

• Rememberthatcookedfoodsdonotlastlongerthanraw

foods.

• Donotstoreliquidsinopencontainers:theywillincreasethe

levelofhumidityintherefrigeratorandcausecondensationto

form.

3. Checktheindicatorlightagain:ifnecessary,readjustit

beenaddedoriftherefrigeratordoorhasbeenopened

frequently,itisnormalfortheindicatornottoshowOK.

Areadedicatedtothestorageoffreshfood,suchasmeatand

fish.Thankstothelowtemperatureinsidethecompartment,the

FoodCareZoneextendstheperiodoftimeforwhichthefood

canbestored,keepingitfreshforuptoaweek.

“FOOD CARE ZONE 0°C”/ Safe Defrost*:

Inthe“FOODCAREZONE0°C”compartmenttherearelower

temperaturesthaninthefridge.Temperaturescangobelow

0°C.Thiscompartmentistheidealspottostoremeatandfish.

Youcanalsostoremilk,dairyproducts,freshpasta,cooked

foodorleftovers.

Thiscompartmentisalsosuitabletodefrostfoodsinahealthy

way,becausethedefrostingprocessatlowtemperatures

inhibitsthemicroorganismsproliferation.

Thiscompartmentisnotsuitableforvegetables,saladand

salads.The0°Ccanbeobtainedinnormalconditionsand

whenthefridgecompartmentissetto4°andthefreezerisset

to-18°C.Whenyoudecreasethefridgetemperatureyoualso

decreasethetemperatureofthe“FOODCAREZONE0°C”

compartment.

Using the freezer to its full potential

• Adjustthetemperatureusingthedisplay.

• Donotre-freezefoodthatisdefrostingorthathasalready

beendefrosted.Thesefoodsmustbecookedandeaten

(within24hours).

• Freshfoodthatneedstobefrozenmustnotcomeinto

contactwithfoodthathasalreadybeendefrosted.Fresh

foodmustbestoredinthetopFREEZERandSTORAGE

compartmentwherethetemperaturedropsbelow-18°Cand

guaranteesrapidfreezing.

• Tofreezefreshfoodinthebestandsafestwaypossible,

activatetheQUICKFREEZEfunction24hoursbefore

placingthefoodinthefreezer.Afterplacingthefood

inside,activatetheQUICKFREEZEfunctionagain;itwillbe

deactivatedautomaticallyafter24hours;

• Donotplaceglassbottleswhichcontainliquids,andwhich

arecorkedorhermeticallysealedinthefreezerbecausethey

couldbreak.

• Themaximumquantityoffoodthatmaybefrozendailyis

indicatedontheplatecontainingthetechnicalproperties

locatedonthebottomleftsideoftherefrigeratorcompartment

(forexample:Kg/24h:4).

• Inordertoobtainagreateramountofspaceinthefreezer

compartment,youmayremovethebins(exceptthelowest

binandthespecialCOOLCAREZONEbin,whichhasan

adjustabletemperature)andplacethefooddirectlyontothe

evaporatorplates.

Switching the appliance off

Duringcleaningandmaintenanceitisnecessarytodisconnect

theappliancefromtheelectricitysupply:

1. PresstheON/OFFbuttontoswitchofftheappliance.

2. Pulltheplugoutofthesocket.

!Ifthisprocedureisnotfollowed,thealarmmaysound.This

alarmdoesnotindicateamalfunction.Torestorenormal

operation,holdtheON/OFFbuttondownformorethantwo

seconds.Todisconnecttheappliance,followpoints1and2

above.

I Care function

The ICarefunctioncanbeactivatedtooptimiseenergy

consumptionwhilemaintainingthecoolingperformanceof

theproduct.Thisfunctionmaximisestheamountofenergy

saved.Undertheseconditions,thedisplayremainsoff

evenwhenthedoorisopened.Thefunctionisactivatedby

pressingandholdingtheQUICKFREEZErandFRZ(+)buttons

simultaneouslyforatleast6seconds.Oncethefunctionhas

beenactivated,allLEDswilllightupfor2secondstoconfirm

activation,andthetemperaturesettingof+5,-18willappear

onthedisplay.Thedisplayswitchesoffafter5seconds.To

changethetemperature,simplypressthe+and–buttonsuntil

youhavereachedthedesiredtemperature.However,theI

Carefunctioncanalsobedisabledbyswitchingtheproduct

offusingtheON/OFFbutton.Whenitisswitchedbackon,the

ICarewillbedisabled.Inhumidenvironments,whentheI

Carefunctionisenabled,slightcondensationmayformonthe

appliancedoor;normaloperatingconditionsarerestoredwhen

thefunctionisdisabled.

Cleaning the appliance

• Theexternalandinternalparts,aswellastherubberseals

maybecleanedusingaspongethathasbeensoakedin

lukewarmwaterandbicarbonateofsodaorneutralsoap.Do

notusesolvents,abrasiveproducts,bleachorammonia.

• Theremovableaccessoriesmaybesoakedinwarmwater

andsoapordishwashingliquid.Rinseanddrythemcarefully.

• Thebackoftheappliancemaycollectdustwhichcanbe

removedbydelicatelyusingthehoseofavacuumcleanerset

onmediumpower.Theappliancemustbeswitchedoffand

theplugmustbepulledoutbeforecleaningtheappliance.

Avoiding mould and unpleasant odours

• Theapplianceismanufacturedwithhygienicmaterialswhich

areodourfree.Inordertomaintainanodourfreerefrigerator

andtopreventtheformationofstains,foodmustalwaysbe

coveredorsealedproperly.

• Ifyouwanttoswitchtheapplianceoffforanextendedperiod

oftime,cleantheinsideandleavethedoorsopen.

Replacing the light led *

Thankstothepowerfullightitemits,thenewdualLEDlighting

systemoffersaclearviewofallfoods,withnoshadowyareas.

IftheLEDsneedtobereplaced,pleasecontacttheTechnical

AssistanceService.

!Theappliancewasdesignedandmanufacturedincompliance

withinternationalsafetystandards.Thefollowingwarningsare

providedforsafetyreasonsandmustbereadcarefully.

General safety

• Theappliancewasdesignedfordomesticuseinsidethe

homeandisnotintendedforcommercialorindustrialuse.

• Theappliancemustbeusedtostoreandfreezefoodproducts

byadultsonlyandaccordingtotheinstructionsinthismanual.

• Theappliancemustnotbeinstalledoutdoors,evenin

coveredareas.Itisextremelydangeroustoleavethe

applianceexposedtorainandstorms.

• Donottouchtheappliancewithbarefeetorwithwetormoist

handsandfeet.

• Donottouchtheinternalcoolingelements:thiscouldcause

skinabrasionsorfrost/freezerburns.

• Whenunpluggingtheappliancealwayspulltheplugfromthe

mainssocket,donotpullonthecable.

• Beforecleaningandmaintenance,alwaysswitchoffthe

applianceanddisconnectitfromtheelectricalsupply.Itisnot

sufficienttosetthetemperatureadjustmentknobsonON/OFF

(applianceoff)toeliminateallelectricalcontact.

• Inthecaseofamalfunction,undernocircumstancesshould

youattempttorepairtheapplianceyourself.Repairscarried

outbyinexperiencedpersonsmaycauseinjuryorfurther

malfunctioningoftheappliance.

• Donotuseanysharporpointedutensilsorelectrical

mouth.

Disposal

Respecting and conserving the

environment

• Installtheapplianceinafreshandwell-ventilatedroom.

Ensurethatitisprotectedfromdirectsunlightanddonot

placeitnearheatsources.

• Trytoavoidkeepingthedooropenforlongperiodsor

openingthedoortoofrequentlyinordertoconserveenergy.

• Donotfilltheappliancewithtoomuchfood:coldair

mustcirculatefreelyforfoodtobepreservedproperly.

Ifcirculationisimpeded,thecompressorwillwork

continuously.

• Donotplacehotfooddirectlyintotherefrigerator.The

internaltemperaturewillincreaseandforcethecompressor

toworkharderandwillconsumemoreenergy.

• Defrosttheapplianceificeforms(see Maintenance).Athick

layeroficemakescoldtransferencetofoodproductsmore

difficultandresultsinincreasedenergyconsumption.

Troubleshooting

Iftheappliancedoesnotwork,beforecallingforAssistance

(seeAssistance),checkforasolutionfromthefollowinglist.

The display is completely switched off.

• Theplughasnotbeeninsertedintotheelectricalsocket,or

notfarenoughtomakecontact,orthereisnopowerinthe

house.

• TheI-Carefunctionisactive.

The motor does not start.

• Theappliancecomeswithamotorprotectioncontrol(see

Start-up and use).

The display is on but it is dim.

• Pulloutandreversetheplugbeforeputtingitbackinthe

socket.

The alarm sounds and DOOR OPEN ALARM flashes on the

display (“dr” is displayed instead of the REFRIGERATOR

temperature).

• Therefrigeratordoorhasbeenopenformorethantwo

minutes.

 Thesoundalertstopswhenthedoorisclosedorwhenthe

applianceisswitchedoffandonagain.

The alarm sounds and TEMPERATURE ALARM flashes on

the display (“A1” is displayed instead of the FREEZER

temperature).

• Thetemperatureinsidethefreezeristoohigh.Thefreezer

willmaintainatemperatureofaround0°Csothatthefood

willnotrefreeze,allowingyoutoeatitwithin24hoursorto

refreezeitafterithasbeencooked.

 Toswitchoffthebuzzer,openandclosetheappliancedoor

orpressthe+and–freezertemperatureadjustmentbuttons

once.Pressthesebuttonsasecondtimetodisplaytheset

valueonthefreezerdisplay,switchofftheTEMPERATURE

ALARMLEDandrestorenormaloperation.

The alarm sounds and temperature alarm flashes on the

display (“A2” is displayed instead of the FREEZER

temperature).

• Thetemperatureofthefreezerisdangerouslyhigh:the

foodinsidemustnotbeeaten.Thefreezerwillmaintaina

temperatureofapproximately-18°C.

 Toswitchoffthebuzzer,openandclosetheappliancedoor

orpressthe+and–freezertemperatureadjustmentbuttons

once.Pressthesebuttonsasecondtimetodisplaytheset

valueonthefreezerdisplay,switchofftheTEMPERATURE

ALARMLEDandrestorenormaloperation.

The refrigerator and the freezer do not cool well.

• Thedoorsdonotcloseproperlyorthesealsaredamaged.

• Thedoorsareopenedtoofrequently.

• Thetemperaturethathasbeensetistoohigh(see Start-up

and use).

• Therefrigeratororthefreezerhavebeenover-filled.

The food inside the refrigerator is beginning to freeze.

• Thetemperaturethathasbeensetistoolow(see Start-up

and use).

The motor runs continuously.

• The function QUICK FREEZE has been enabled

• Thedoorisnotclosedproperlyoriscontinuouslyopened.

• Theoutsideambienttemperatureisveryhigh.

The appliance makes a lot of noise.

• Theappliancehasnotbeeninstalledonalevelsurface(see

Installation).

• Theappliancehasbeeninstalledbetweencabinetsthat

vibrateandmakenoise.

• Theinternalrefrigerantmakesaslightnoiseevenwhenthe

compressorisoff.Thisisnotadefect,itisnormal.

Early ending of functions

• Electricaldisturbanceonthenetworkorbriefinterruptionsof

thepowersupply.
