Installation

!Beforeplacingyournewapplianceintooperationpleaseread

these operating instructions carefully. They contain important

informationfor safe use, for installationand for care of the

appliance.

Positioning and connection

Positioning

1. Placetheapplianceinawell-ventilatedhumidity-freeroom.

2. Do not obstruct therear fangrills. The compressor and

condensergiveoffheatandrequiregoodventilationtooperate

correctlyandsaveenergy.

3. Leaveaspaceofatleast10cmbetweenthetoppartofthe

applianceandanyfurnitureaboveit,andatleast5cmbetween

thesidesandanyfurniture/sidewalls.

4. Ensuretheapplianceisawayfromanysourcesofheat(direct

sunlight,electricstove,etc.).

5. Inordertomaintainthecorrectdistancebetweentheappliance

andthewallbehindit,fitthespacerssuppliedintheinstallation

kit,followingtheinstructionsprovided.

Levelling

1. Installtheapplianceonalevelandrigidfloor.

2. Ifthefloorisnotperfectlyhorizontal,adjusttherefrigeratorby

tighteningorlooseningthefrontfeet.

Electrical connections

Afterthe appliancehas been transported,carefully placeit

verticallyandwaitatleast3 hours before connecting ittothe

electricitymains.Beforeinsertingtheplugintotheelectricalsocket

ensurethefollowing:

• Theapplianceisearthedandtheplugiscompliantwiththelaw.

• Thesocketcanwithstandthemaximumpoweroftheappliance,

whichisindicatedonthedataplatelocatedonthebottomleft

sideofthefridge(e.g.150W).

• Thevoltagemustbeintherangebetweenthevaluesindicated

onthedataplatelocatedonthebottomleftside(e.g.220-

240V).

• The socket is compatiblewith the plug of theappliance. If

thesocketisincompatiblewiththeplug,askanauthorised

techniciantoreplaceit(see Assistance).Donotuseextension

cordsormultiplesockets.

!Oncetheappliancehasbeeninstalled,thepowersupplycable

andtheelectricalsocketmustbeeasilyaccessible.

!Thecablemustnotbebentorcompressed.

!Thecablemustbecheckedregularlyandreplacedbyauthorised

techniciansonly(seeAssistance).

! The manufacturer declines any liability should these safety

measures not be observed.

Start-up and use

Starting the appliance

! After transportationof the appliance,carefully placeit in an

uprightpositionandwaitatleast3hoursbeforeconnectingitto

theelectricitymains,tomakesureitoperatesasitshould.

• Cleantheinsideoftherefrigeratorwellusingwarmwaterand

bicarbonateofsodabeforeplacingfoodinsideit.

• Theappliancecomeswithamotorprotectioncontrolsystem

whichmakesthecompressorstartapproximately8minutes

afterbeingswitchedon.Thecompressoralsostartseachtime

thepowersupplyiscutoffwhethervoluntarilyorinvoluntarily

(blackout).

Freezer Compartment

Whentheproductisswitchedonthefreezercompartmentissetto

itsdefaultvalueof-18°C.WerecommendthattheSUPERFREEZE

functionissetinordertoacceleratethecoolingprocessofthe

compartment;whentheinsideofthecompartmenthasreached

itsoptimaltemperaturethefunctionwillbedeactivatedandthe

foodmaybeplacedinside.

Refrigerator Compartment

Whentheapplianceisswitchedontherefrigeratorcompartment

issettoitsdefaultvalueof+5°C.WerecommendthattheSPEED

COOLfunctionissetinordertoacceleratethecoolingprocess

ofthecompartment.Afterafewhoursitwillbecoolenoughfor

foodtobeplacedinside.

Navigating the display

Setting the temperatures:

Ifthe productis switchedon, the refrigerator and freezer

compartmentdisplayswillindicatethetemperaturevaluessetat

thatmoment.Tochangethem,simplypressthe-and+buttons

correspondingtothecompartmentforwhichyouwishtochange

thesettemperature.Morespecifically,eachtimethebuttonsare

pressed,thetemperatureincreasesordecreasesandthelevelof

coldgeneratedinsidethecompartmentisadjustedaccordingly.

Thetemperaturevaluesthatmaybeselectedfortherefrigerator

compartmentare+8°C,+7°C,+6°C,+5°C,+4°C,+3°Cand+2°C,

whilethevaluesthatmaybesetforthefreezerare-18°C,-19°C,

-20°C,-21°C,-22°C,-23°,-24°C,-25°,and-26°C.IfSPEEDCOOL

function is activated,Fridge temperature cannot be modified.

IfSUPER FREEZEfunctions is activated,Freezer temperature

cannotbemodified.

Using the refrigerator to its full potential

• Adjustthetemperatureusingthedisplay.

• ActivatetheSPEEDCOOLfunctiontolowerthetemperature

quickly,forexample,whenyouplacealargenumberofnew

fooditemsinsideafridgeandtheinternaltemperaturerises

slightly.Thisfunctionquicklycoolsthegroceriesbytemporarily

reducingthetemperatureuntilitreachestheideallevel.

• Placeonlycoldorlukewarmfoodsinthecompartment,never

hotfoods(seePrecautionsandtips).

• Rememberthatcookedfoodsdonotlastlongerthanrawfoods.

• Donotstoreliquidsinopencontainers:theywillincreasethe

levelofhumidityintherefrigeratorandcausecondensation

toform.

SHELVES:withorwithoutgrill.

Duetothespecialguidestheshelvesareremovableandtheheight

isadjustable,allowingeasystorageoflargecontainersandfood.

Heightcanbeadjustedwithoutcompleteremovaloftheshelf.

TEMPERATUREIndicatorlight*:toidentifythecoldestareainthe

refrigerator.

1. Check that OK appears clearly on the indicator light (see

diagram).



2. Iftheword“OK”doesnotappearitmeansthatthetemperature

istoohigh:setalowertemperatureandwaitapproximately10

hoursuntilthetemperaturehasbeenstabilised.

3. Checktheindicatorlightagain:ifnecessary,readjustitfollowing

theinitialprocess.Iflargequantitiesoffoodhavebeenaddedor

iftherefrigeratordoorhasbeenopenedfrequently,itisnormal

fortheindicatornottoshowOK.Waitatleast10hbeforeyou

settheFRIDGEWORKINGtemperatureonalowerposition.

opened.Theblownair(A)iscooledwhenitcomesintocontact

withthecoldwall,whereasthehotterair(B)issuckedup(see

diagram).

Food Care Zone *

Areadedicatedtothestorageoffreshfood,suchasmeatand

fish.Thankstothelowtemperatureinsidethecompartment,the

FoodCareZoneextendstheperiodoftimeforwhichthefood

canbestored,keepingitfreshforuptoaweek.

“Food Care Zone 0°C” / Safe Defrost* :

Inthe “FoodCare Zone0°C” compartment there are lower

temperaturesthaninthefridge.Temperaturescangobelow0°C.

Thiscompartmentistheidealspottostoremeatandfish.You

canalsostoremilk,dairyproducts,freshpasta,cookedfoodor

leftovers.

Thiscompartmentisalsosuitabletodefrostfoodsinahealthy

way,becausethedefrostingprocessatlowtemperaturesinhibits

themicroorganismsproliferation.

Thiscompartmentisnotsuitableforvegetables,saladandsalads.

The0°C canbe obtained in normal conditionsand whenthe

fridgecompartmentissetto4°andthefreezerissetto-18°C.

Whenyoudecreasethefridgetemperatureyoualsodecreasethe

temperatureofthe“FoodCareZone0°C””compartment.

Using the freezer to its full potential

• Adjustthetemperatureusingthedisplay.

• Donotre-freezefoodthatisdefrostingorthathasalreadybeen

defrosted.Thesefoodsmustbecookedandeaten(within24

hours).

• Freshfoodthatneedstobefrozenmustnotcomeintocontact

withfoodthathasalreadybeendefrosted.Freshfoodmust

bestoredinthetopFREEZERandSTORAGEcompartment

wherethe temperature dropsbelow -18°C andguarantees

rapidfreezing.

• Tofreeze fresh food in thebest and safest way possible,

activatetheSUPERFREEZEfunction24hoursbeforeplacing

thefoodinthefreezer.Afterplacingthefoodinside,activate

theSUPER FREEZE functionagain; itwill be deactivated

automaticallyafter24hours;

• Donotplaceglassbottleswhichcontainliquids,andwhichare

corkedorhermeticallysealedinthefreezerbecausetheycould

break.

• The maximumquantity of food that maybe frozendaily is

indicated on theplate containingthe technicalproperties

locatedonthebottomleftsideoftherefrigeratorcompartment

(forexample:Kg/24h:4).

• Inorder to obtain a greateramountofspaceinthefreezer

compartment,youmayremovethebins (except the lowest

bin,theuppermostbinandthespecialCOOLCAREZONE

bin,whichhasanadjustabletemperature)andplacethefood

directlyontotheevaporatorplates.

!Iftheroomtemperaturedropsbelow14°Cforanextendedperiod

oftime,theidealtemperaturewillnotbereachedinthefreezer

compartmentandfoodpreservationwillbereduced.

!Donotopenthedoorduringfreezing.

!Ifthereisapowercutormalfunction,donotopenthefreezer

door.Thiswillhelpmaintainthetemperatureinsidethefreezer,

ensuringthatfoodsareconservedforatleast9-14hours.

Easy Ice

Thedoubletubwasdesignedtooptimisespaceinthefreezer

compartmentandtoensurethaticeisalwaysreadilyavailable.

Thetrayscanbestackedorfilledandusedseparately.

Furthermore,the special fasteningsystemmakes Easy Icean

extremelyflexiblesolution,asitcanbepositionedintherightor

leftpartofthetopdrawers.

Maintenance and care

Switching the appliance off

Duringcleaningandmaintenanceitisnecessarytodisconnect

theappliancefromtheelectricitysupply:

1. PresstheON/OFFbuttontoswitchofftheappliance.

2. Pulltheplugoutofthesocket.

!Ifthisprocedureisnotfollowed,thealarmmaysound.Thisalarm

doesnot indicatea malfunction. Torestore normaloperation,

holdtheON/OFFbutton down for morethantwoseconds. To

disconnecttheappliance,followpoints1and2above.

I Care function

The I Care  function canbe activated tooptimise energy

consumptionwhilemaintainingthecoolingperformanceofthe

product.Thisfunction maximises theamount ofenergy saved.

Undertheseconditions,thedisplayremainsoffevenwhenthe

doorisopened.Thefunctionisactivatedbypressingandholding

thesuperfreezerandFRZ(+)buttonssimultaneouslyforatleast

6seconds.Oncethefunctionhasbeenactivated,allLEDswill

lightupfor2secondstoconfirmactivation,andthetemperature

settingof+5,-18willappearonthedisplay.Thedisplayswitches

offafter5seconds.Tochangethetemperature,simplypressthe

+and–buttonsuntilyouhavereachedthedesiredtemperature.

However,theICarefunctioncanalsobedisabledbyswitching

theproductoffusingtheON/OFFbutton.Whenitisswitchedback

on,theICarewillbedisabled.Inhumidenvironments,whenthe

ICarefunctionisenabled,slightcondensationmayformonthe

appliancedoor;normaloperatingconditionsarerestoredwhen

thefunctionisdisabled.

Cleaning the appliance

• Theexternalandinternalparts,aswellastherubbersealsmay

becleanedusingaspongethathasbeensoakedinlukewarm

waterandbicarbonateofsodaorneutralsoap.Donotuse

solvents,abrasiveproducts,vinegar,bleachorammonia.

• Theremovableaccessoriesmaybesoakedinwarmwaterand

soapordishwashingliquid.Rinseanddrythemcarefully.

• The backof the appliance may collectdust whichcan be

removedbydelicatelyusingthehoseofavacuumcleanerset

Defrosting the appliance

!Followtheinstructionsbelow.

Donotspeedupthedefrostingprocessbyusinganydevices

ortoolsotherthanthescraperprovided,youmaydamagethe

refrigerationcircuit.

Defrosting the refrigerator compartment

Therefrigerator has anautomaticdefrosting function: wateris

ductedtothebackoftheappliancebyaspecialdischargeoutlet

(seediagram)wheretheheatproducedbythecompressorcauses

ittoevaporate.Itisnecessarytocleanthedischargeholeregularly

sothatthewatercanflowouteasily.

Defrosting the freezer compartment

Ifthefrostlayerisgreaterthan5mm,itisnecessarytodefrost

manually:

1. PresstheON/OFFbuttontoswitchofftheappliance.

2. Wrapfrozenfoodsinnewspaperandplacetheminanother

freezerorinacoolplace.

3. Leavethedooropenuntilthefrosthasmeltedcompletely.This

canbemadeeasierbyplacingcontainerswithlukewarmwater

inthefreezercompartment.

4. Clean anddry the freezercompartment carefully before

switchingtheapplianceonagain.

5. CertainappliancesarefittedwiththeDRAINSYSTEMtolead

thewater outside: let the waterflow into a container (see

diagram).

6. Waitfor approximately 2 hours, i.e.until the ideal storage

conditionshave beenrestored, beforeplacing food in the

freezercompartment.

Replacing the light bulb *

Toreplacethelightbulbintherefrigeratorcompartment,pullout

theplugfromtheelectricalsocket.Followtheinstructionsbelow.

Accessthelightbulbbyremovingthecoverasindicatedinthe

diagram.Replaceitwithasimilarlightbulbwithinthepowerrange

indicatedonthecover.

Respecting and conserving the environment

thedoortoofrequentlyinordertoconserveenergy.

• Donot fillthe appliancewith toomuch food:cold airmust

isimpeded,thecompressorwillworkcontinuously.

• Donotplacehotfooddirectlyintotherefrigerator.Theinternal

temperaturewillincreaseandforcethecompressortowork

harderandwillconsumemoreenergy.

• Defrosttheapplianceificeforms(see Maintenance).Athick

layeroficemakescoldtransferencetofoodproductsmore

difficultandresultsinincreasedenergyconsumption.

Troubleshooting

Iftheappliancedoesnotwork,beforecallingforAssistance(see

Assistance),checkforasolutionfromthefollowinglist.

The display is completely switched off.

• Theplughasnotbeeninsertedintotheelectricalsocket,ornot

farenoughtomakecontact,orthereisnopowerinthehouse.

• TheI-Carefunctionisactive.

The motor does not start.

• The appliance comeswith amotor protection control (see

Start-up and use).

The display is on but it is dim.

• Pulloutandreversetheplugbeforeputtingitbackinthesocket.

The alarm sounds and DOOR OPEN ALARM flashes on the

display (“dr” is displayed instead of the REFRIGERATOR

temperature).

• Therefrigeratordoorhasbeenopenformorethantwominutes.

 Thesoundalertstopswhenthedoorisclosedorwhenthe

applianceisswitchedoffandonagain.

The alarm sounds and TEMPERATURE ALARM flashes on the

display (“A1” is displayed instead of the FREEZER temperature).

• Thetemperatureinsidethefreezeristoohigh.Thefreezerwill

maintainatemperatureofaround0°Csothatthefoodwillnot

refreeze,allowingyoutoeatitwithin24hoursortorefreezeit

afterithasbeencooked.

 Toswitchoffthebuzzer,openandclosetheappliancedoor

orpressthe+and–freezertemperatureadjustmentbuttons

once.Pressthesebuttonsasecondtimetodisplaytheset

valueonthefreezerdisplay,switch off the TEMPERATURE

ALARMLEDandrestorenormaloperation.

The alarm sounds and temperature alarm flashes on the display

(“A2”is displayed instead of the FREEZER temperature).

• Thetemperature of the freezer isdangerously high: the

foodinside mustnot be eaten. The freezer will maintaina

temperatureofapproximately-18°C.

 Toswitchoffthebuzzer,openandclosetheappliancedoor

orpressthe+and–freezertemperatureadjustmentbuttons

once.Pressthesebuttonsasecondtimetodisplaytheset

valueonthefreezerdisplay,switch off the TEMPERATURE

ALARMLEDandrestorenormaloperation.

The refrigerator and the freezer do not cool well.

• Thedoorsdonotcloseproperlyorthesealsaredamaged.

• Thedoorsareopenedtoofrequently.

• Thetemperaturethathasbeensetistoohigh(see Start-up

and use).

• Therefrigeratororthefreezerhavebeenover-filled.

The food inside the refrigerator is beginning to freeze.

• Thetemperaturethathasbeensetistoolow(see Start-up and

use).

The motor runs continuously.

• The function SUPER FREEZE has been enabled

• Thedoorisnotclosedproperlyoriscontinuouslyopened.

• Theoutsideambienttemperatureisveryhigh.

The appliance makes a lot of noise.

• Theappliancehasnotbeeninstalledonalevelsurface(see

Installation).

• Theappliancehasbeeninstalledbetweencabinetsthatvibrate

andmakenoise.

• Theinternalrefrigerantmakesaslightnoiseevenwhenthe

compressorisoff.Thisisnotadefect,itisnormal.

Early ending of functions

• Electricaldisturbanceonthenetworkorbriefinterruptionsof

thepowersupply.
