TL, FO Intended use
17
5 Intended use
The TL200, TL300, TL450 and FO650 refrigerated containers are ideal for refriger-
ating and freezing food items at a constant temperature of +4 °C or –18 °C.
The FO200NC, FO450NC, FO800NC, FO850NC and FO1000NC refrigerated
containers are ideal for refrigerating food items at a constant temperature of +4 °C.
The refrigerated containers are designed for operating on a DC (12 Vg) and AC
power supply.
The refrigerated container has a lock on the lid (not FO800NC, FO1000NC) and a
holder for the fastening strap.
!
Additional modules (optional)
Additional modules must be fitted on the container at the factory:
•The DT-23 automatic heating and cooling function is designed to operate the
container at a constant, individual temperature (according to customer require-
ments). The possible range is from +4 °C to +20 °C. The storage room is auto-
matically cooled or heated to the set temperature.
I
The lead gel battery module DT-24 is a mobile power supply for refrigerated
containers if an external power source is not available. The lead gel battery pro-
vides DC power (12 V). Only the MCA1235 charger supplied may be used to
charge the lead gel battery.
The metal pallet DT-31 for FO850NC, FO1000NC is mounted under the con-
tainer to allow an easier transport with a forklift (fig. 3, page 5).
•The 24VDC module DT-32 is designed for operating on a DC (24 Vg) and
AC power supply.
CAUTION! Health hazard!
Please check if the cooling capacity of the device is suitable for storing
the food you wish to cool or freeze (chapter “Models” on page 16).
NOTE Heating with DT-23
If the outside temperature is below the temperature set on the device,
the heating function is automatically switched on. The heating function
is only available with DC power supply.

6 Technical description
The refrigerated container can cool and freeze goods at a constant temperature of
+4 °C and –18 °C (TL200, TL300, TL450, FO650) or cool at +4 °C (FO200NC,
FO450NC, FO800NC, FO850NC, FO1000NC). A maintenance-free refrigerant
circuit with compressor provides the cooling.
Depending on the model, the refrigerated container can operate on an AC or DC
power supply.
The refrigerated container has a battery monitor which protects the vehicle battery
from excessive discharging:

TL, FO Installing and connecting the refrigerated container
19
7 Installing and connecting the
refrigerated container
!
!
Observe the minimum clearances for the place of installation (fig. 6, page 6).
Place the refrigerated container on a stable and even floor.
7.1 Installing the wheel set (DT-25)
Not for FO650NC, FO850NC
You can install wheels in place of the stands (fig. 8, page 7). Use two fixed wheels
and two movable wheels in the longitudinal direction to make maneuvering easy.
!
I
Remove the lower support brackets and keep the screws.
Secure the rollers at the same position of the support blocks with the existing
screws.
Always mount the rollers in pairs at the rear, front or side.
WARNING! Health hazard!
Secure the refrigerated containers in the vehicle in such a way that
they cannot move under any circumstances (e. g. sudden brake,
accident).
Only for TL200, TL300, TL450: Use the fastening tabs on the
refrigerated containers for lashing the load in the vehicle.
Only for wheel set DT-25: Use the parking brakes on the
wheels to secure the refrigerated containers.
WARNING! Fire hazard!
When positioning the device, ensure the supply cord is not trapped
or damaged.
Do not locate multiple portable socket-outlets or portable power
supplies at the rear of the device.
WARNING! Health hazard!
Lift the refrigerated container with a suitable lifting device (e.g. fork
truck).
NOTE Damage hazard!
Do not place the container on its side.

Installing and connecting the refrigerated container TL, FO
20
7.2 Operation with AC power
Plug the AC connection cable into the AC power supply connection (fig. 4 2,
page 5).
Connect the refrigerated container to the AC power supply.
7.3 Operation with DC power
A
For safety reasons, the refrigerated container is equipped with an electronic system
to prevent the polarity being reversed. This protects it against reversed polarity when
connecting to a battery and against short circuiting.
A
Determine the required cross section of the cable in relation to the cable length
as follows:
12 V
24 V (with additional module DT-32)
A
Before starting up the device for the first time, check whether the operating volt-
age and the battery voltage match (see type plate).
NOTICE! Risk of damage to the device!
Disconnect the refrigerated container and other electric consumers
from the battery before you connect the battery to a quick charging
device.
Overvoltage can damage the electronics of the device.
NOTICE! Risk of damage to the device!
To avoid voltage drops and loss of performance, keep the cable as short
as possible and avoid joins.
Therefore avoid additional switches, plugs or power strips.
