OFFLINEMAPS
Allows you to access a wide range of maps; roads,
topographic and much more. The explored maps
remain available without Wi-Fi access.
1. TURNING THE WI-FI ON
In order for the app to download map data, the GEOPAD must have Wi-Fi access.
Tap on the Wi-Fi icon on the main page to turn it on. The Wi-Fi is enabled when the
icon is underlined in blue.
2. STARTING THE APP
Tap on the application’s icon on your GEOPAD to open it.

4. DOWNLOADING MAPS
There are two different ways to download map data; 1) by zooming on an area, or
2) by using the "store area" tool. Those two methods require Wi-Fi access to download
the maps, and save them in the GEOPAD’s memory so it can be accessed later
without Wi-Fi access.
The recommended way to download maps is with the «Store area» tool; it is
easier to control the amount of data saved into the GEOPAD.
1) Zooming
When connected to the internet via Wi-Fi, zooming on an area will download this
area into the GEOPAD’s memory.
It is important to zoom only on the desired areas to avoid lling the entire
GEOPAD’s memory. More the zoom level is precise, the more memory it will
take up.
TIP:Theoption"Ofinemode"canbecheckedtopreventanymapdownload.
This way, the user can navigate in the previously downloaded maps without downloa-
ding any new map.
2) "Store area" tool
a. Tap on the "Maps & layers" tab.

c. Select an area and choose the zoom level at which the map will be
saved. Zoom level and area size have a great impact on memory.
5. TURNING THE GPS ON
Now that the needed maps areas are downloaded, the Wi-Fi can be turned
off. In order for the app to locate your position, the built-in GPS of the GEOPAD has
to be turned on. To do so, quit the app and tap on the GPS icon on the main page of
the GEOPAD. The GPS is enabled when the icon is underlined in blue.
6. CHOOSING A MAP TYPE
Open the app once again. To choose a map type, tap on "Explore maps".
"MapQuest open" is the default map and the most useful. It is a world and road map.
"Landscape map" is a topographic map that can also be really useful.
OfineMaps
If the line under the map name
becomes red, it means that the
map exceeds a reasonable size
and that it will take up too much space
on the GEOPAD. Consider reducing the
zoom level or the area size.

To identify your current position on the map:
1. Tap on the "GPS position" tab.
2. Then, enable the positioning details option by switching the button to green.
Current position
A dot will appear on the map. It is your current position. If the dot and line are red,
it means there is no GPS signal and your current position is not accurate. If they are
blue, the GPS signal is working.
Cursor
When navigating on the map, the cursor will track your movement. At any time,
it is possible to return to current position by tapping on the "GPS position" tab.
Whenever opening the app, the screen goes back to your current position.
8. CREATING LANDMARKS
