5 Format Selection and H / V Phase Adjustment
5.1 Format Selection
The Hi-Motion II supports 1080I59, 720P59, 1080P59, 1080I50, 720P50 and 1080P50 system
format. These are selectable as the image signal output.
A How to change System Format of different frequency (e.g. 1080/59.94i <-> 1080/50i)
Change both settings on the Camera Head and the CCU as follows. The Camera must be
changed first and the CCU second.
NOTE: GENLOCK must be disconnected before the setting.
1. Open the HEAD MENU on the VF output and change the FORMAT SELECT of CAMERA HEAD
FORMAT on ENGINEER(1//2).
2. Turn off the power of the Camera
3. Show the color bar on PM1 output of the CCU by pressing BARS button on the OCP.
4. Press SETUP button on the OCP and press CHARACTER button on the touch screen.
5. Keep pressing MENU button on the OCP to open the Main Menu of the CCU
6. Select one in the SYSTEM FORMAT by turning the Select Knob or the Next Knob, and press
ENTER button.
7. Change the Frame Rate that is the same as the Camera Format.
8. Turn off the power of the CCU and reboot the system to complete the settings.
B How to change System Format of the same frequency (e.g. 1080/59.94i <-> 720/59.94p)
Change settings on the CCU as follows, so that the Camera settings are changed
automatically.
NOTE: GENLOCK must be disconnected before the setting.
1. Show the color bar on PM1 output of the CCU by pressing BARS button on the OCP.
2. Press SETUP button on the OCP and press CHARACTER button on the touch screen.
3. Keep pressing MENU button on the OCP to open the Main Menu of the CCU
4. Select one in the SYSTEM FORMAT by turning the Select Knob or the Next Knob, and press
ENTER button.
5. Change the Frame Rate. At that time, the camera reboots automatically.
6. Turn off the power of CCU and reboot the system to complete the settings.

5.2. Output video when set to 1080P
When the system format is set to 1080P, unlike 1080I/720P setting, all output images of the
camera head and CCU become the common image.
- When select the LIVE image, all output images become the LIVE image.
- When select the PLAY image, all output images become the PLAY image.
This section explains the switching the output image when set to 1080P.
A Switching between LIVE and PLAY images
The Switching between LIVE and PLAY images is applied to all output images by
performing the following operation.
1. Set the value of the selection item [PM1] of the OCP to either LIVE or PLAY.
2. Press the STANDBY button on the slow controller, and set LIVE or PLAY image.
3. Select VIDEO OUTPUT MODE on the head menu MENU (1/2) page, select VF OUT
SEL, and then set LIVE or PLAY.
4. Select VIDEO OUTPUT MODE on the head menu MENU (1/2) page, select MON OUT
SEL, and then set LIVE or PLAY.
* When set the PLAY image, VF output becomes the same PLAY image.
Like 1080I/720P setting, you cannot always output LIVE image.
B Switching between recording and playing
When operating recording and playing, the output image is sometimes different from the
image set in 1080l/720P.
Operation when outputting LIVE image
1. Showing a selected block which is on recording
- Once the trigger is inputted, recording ends and the image switches from LIVE to PLAY
showing still image of the block.
2. Showing a selected block which has been already recorded
- Press STOP button and then switches from LIVE to PLAY showing still image of the
block.
- Press PLAY button and then switches from LIVE to PLAY showing replay image of
the block.
- Operate by JOG/SHTL/T-Bar and then switches from LIVE to PLAY showing replay
image of the variable speed of the block.
3. Moving to the other block
- When the other block is selected, LIVE/PLAY image switches according to the status of
the selected block.
- During recording or not recording a selected block, LIVE image output remains.
- If a selected block has been already recorded, the image switches from LIVE to PLAY
showing still image of the block.
Operation when outputting play image
1. Showing selected block which is on playing
- When the other block is selected, LIVE/PLAY image switches according to the status of
the selected block.
- During recording or not recording a selected block, the image switches from PLAY to
LIVE image output remains.
- If the selected block has been already recorded, a still image of the block is shown.
- If you switch to LIVE image output, PLAY image stops and switch from PLAY to LIVE.

* When setting on 1080P, if there is a block on playing, the image always moves to PLAY
image.
Also, the setting of output image right after recording in Section 6.7.7 is always in a
condition of the PLAY image [LIVE AFTER REC OFF : Play image (frame image set
on the play start image)].

5.3. How to adjust H / V Phase
1. Show the color bar on PM1 output of the CCU by pressing BARS button on the
OCP.
2. Press SETUP button on the OCP and press CHARACTER button on the touch
screen.
3. Keep pressing MENU button on the OCP to open the Main Menu of the CCU.
4. Select PHASE CONTROL by turning the Select Knob or the Next Knob, and press
ENTER button to show the following menu.
Adjust them according to the actual environment of the OB van.

6 Capture Size
6.1 Either 1080 or 720 is selectable for the capture size. In either case, the capture size is
automatically converted depending on the HD OUT format setting.
Selecting “720” and unloading the magnification optics make images approx. 1-stop brighter than
“1080”.
Selecting “1080” and loading the magnification optics provide higher resolution images than
“720”.
6.2 How to change Capture Size
Change the capture size on the HEAD MENU and Load/Unload the Magnification Optics
A Change Capture Size on the HEAD MENU
1. Open the HEAD MENU on the VF output and change CAPTURE of RECORDING to 720
in MENU (2/2)
2. Reboot the camera.
B When changing to 720, unload the magnification optics as follows (See pictures on page 14)
1. Remove the lever on the mount ring of the magnification optics.
2. Loosen the screws of the air filter cover.
3. Remove the screws on the mount ring cover of the camera body and take off the cover.
4. Turn the lever on the mount ring of the camera body counter-clock wise.
5. Remove the magnification optics and tighten the screws of the air filter cover.
6. Done.
C NOTE
1. When changing to 1080, load the magnification optics in reverse order.
2. Unloaded magnification optics must be treated carefully with soft cloth to prevent it from
scratch and dirt.
3. The mount ring cover can be damaged by too much torque.
4. The screws are small tiny parts (2pcs of M2x5) and easily lost. Keep them carefully.

REC Shows the status of the Memory in Recording Mode. The left end is the
start position of the recording, and the right end is the end position of the
recording.
PLAY, LOOP Displays Playback position out of all the recorded image clips on the
Blocks.

11 Alert :
TEMP!!!
Appears when temperature of each part inside the camera exceeds the
TEMP LIMIT values on the HEAD MENU. When it appears, output
images and other functions of the camera can be instable. Please turn
off the power of the camera, cool it down away from direct sunlight, and
then reboot the camera.
12 Digital GAIN :
1 Displays Gain setting on the OCP when the OCP is connected to the CCU or the Camera Head.
2 When the OCP is not connected to the Camera Head (Standalone Style), display the setting of
Gain switch (0,M,H) on the right side of the camera body.
13 AWB Ch :

1 Displays Auto White Balance setting on the OCP when the OCP is connected to the CCU or the
Camera Head.
2 When the OCP is not connected to the Camera Head (Standalone Style), display the setting of
AWB switch (A, B, OFF) on the right side of the camera body.
14 Color Temperature : Displays the setting value of electric color temperature filter.
15 Background ImageDisplays the setting of the images output from PM1/PM2 output of the CCU and VF/
MON OUT of the Camera Head. Refer to Chapter 8.3.1 for how to switch images of Picture Monitor 1, and
Chapter 9.2.A for Picture Monitor 2.
Displays Live image

16 AUTO PLAY : Displays the setting of AUTO PLAY mode.
When _A_ is displayed, AUTO PLAY is set to ON. If not displayed, AUTO PLAY is set to OFF.

8 OCP Quick Guide
8.1. Camera Function Portion
CAM PWR Switch
ON/OFF control of power supply to the camera head available with this switch. Keep pushing
this switch 2 seconds for power supply OFF from power supply ON.
This switch is disabled in the Standalone mode.
VF PWR Switch
This switch is invalid with the Hi-Motion II.
Memory Card Slot
This slot is used to save/load the data of Camera Head or CCU setting parameter to/from
memory card (SD Card).
Slot should be used for dust proof when memory card is not used. Access indictor lamp on the
side of slot lights in saving/loading. Do not remove memory card when access indicator is
lighting. There is a possibility to damage data of not only memory card but Camera Head and
CCU.
PM IND/PAGE Switch
Various information of characters is overlaid on CCU PM output. Each of information is
indicated sequentially as following by pressing this switch.

information >>> Hi-Motion II operation screen >>> Camera ID screen
PANEL ENABLE Switch
Enables to OCP operation. OCP control is available when Switch light is ON.
TALLY Indicator
Red, Green and Yellow Tally indicator.
MODE Switch
STANDARD Switch
To clear all Camera and CCU data to standard setting. Press this switch to come up LCD
menu and operation is possible with touch panel.
By pressing this switch while pressing KNOB FREE switch, changed parameter by
control knob rotation can be cleared.
CAP Switch
Sets optical filter to CAP position or Iris close.
BARS Switch
Outputs Color Bar Signal to Video Output.
CAL Switch
100% or 200% CAL signal is generated for the Calibration of the Video Processing
Circuit.

CAL OFF(Light OFF) -> CAL100% (Light ON) -> CAL200% (Blink) -> CAL OFF (Light
OFF)
AWB / ABB Switch
Executes AWB (Auto White Balance) or ABB (Auto Black Balance). After completing
execution, lamp turns off when the result is good, but lamp blinks when the result is no good.
In case of NG, press this switch to clear lamp blinking.
8.2. LCD Menu Portion
FUNCTION Switch
INFO Switch
Indicates status information such as ON/OFF setting condition of Camera Head or
BS/CCU on LCD display.
OPE Switch
Simplified Operation of the Slow Controller and MENU button to show the HEAD
MENU.
SETUP Switch
Enables LCD menu to setup mode.
MAINTE Switch
Enables LCD menu to maintenance mode.
USER Switch
Can be recalled one function to the LCD screen. User can assign one function to this
switch and it can be recalled by pressing this switch.
WFM / PM Switch
Calls WFM (Waveform Monitor) / PM (Picture Monitor) selection switch on LCD display.
LCD Touch Screen
Combines LCD panel and touch sensor. It has both display function and switch function to use for
various camera control setting.
Rotary Encoder Knob
Used to control parameters when function switches are displayed on LCD display.

Provides shortcut features to some of the HEAD MENU with SELECT switch ( ) and
NEXT switch. You can switch displaying the following 4 pages with NEXT switch and change
parameters with SELECT switch.

When pressing buttons at that time, it jumps to the closest preset values.
