System Hold Off and Abort
Button Installation Guide Item Number: 2980-0006
Introduction
The System Hold Off / Abort buttons connect to the 3 Zone
GasRelease Panel and is used to either delay, or cancel the
extinguishant release sequence.
Installation
Location and Fixing
Depending on the function of the button, attach either the yellow
Extinguishant Hold Off, or Extinguishant Abort label to the front
of the button enclosure (see images right). The Hold Off and
Abort buttons are single gang, surface-mounted units and must
be mounted indoors on a dry, flat surface. Fix the button’s back
box securely using the four mounting holes provided. During the
fixing process, care must be taken not to damage internal
wiring, or components.
Wiring
All wiring should be installed in accordance with the current
edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations (BS7671), or relevant
national standards. Cables should be fed into the buttons via
the knockouts provided on the back box.
The first button connects to the relevant connector block at the GasRelease panel (either HOLD or ABORT
terminals), via a 2-wire connection (see Figure 1 below). The remaining buttons are then connected in series.
A 470R resistor (supplied) must be fitted in every button and a 6k8 end-of-line resistor (supplied with the
GasRelease Panel accessories) must be fitted in the last button in the chain to allow the wiring to be line
monitored for open and short-circuit faults.
