GENERAL INFORMATION AND SAFETY
INSTRUCTIONS
SAFETY
Never place the unit in hot, humid or excessively dusty places.
Do not install the unit where it may be exposed to mechanical vibrations.
This product should be operated only from the type of power source indicated on the
rear of the unit.
Do not touch the power cord with a wet hand or continue to use a damaged power
cord. It may cause an electric shock.
Never open the cover. High voltage in the unit may result in electrocution.
Disconnect the power cord to the unit before connecting any cables.
CAUTION
To prevent fire or electrical shock do not expose the appliance to water.
Ensure that objects filled with liquids, such as vases, are not placed on the
apparatus.
If an object or liquid gets into the unit, disconnect the plug and ask an approved
technician to check the unit.
Never place the unit in a confined space such as a bookcase or built-in cabinet
unless proper ventilation is provided. Leave a 10cm gap around the unit.
The recommended operating temperature is from 0 ~ 40 and humidity should be
under 95%.
For your own safety, do not touch any part of the unit, power lead or antennal
lead during a lightning storm.
Use a damp cloth to clean the unit.
Do not use liquid cleaners, solvent or abrasive products, etc.
This symbol indicates that high voltage is present inside. It is dangerous to
make contact with any part inside the case.
This symbol alerts you of important information concerning operation and
maintenance of this product.
Never allow children to play with electrical equipment.

Quick Start Guide
1.2 Front Panel
1. Standby Button
Press to switch between operation and standby modes.
2. /
Moves the cursor up/down when in the menu or changes the current program to the
previous/next channel in operational mode.
3. /
Moves the cursor left/right when menu is selected, or adjusts the volume level in
operational mode.
4. OK
Press to select an item in the menu or to activate the Channel List in operational
mode.
5. Front Panel Display
Front panel window displays information concerning current operation such as CH
number and so on. A hidden sensor senses infrared signal from the remote control.

1.3 Rear Panel
1. ANT OUT
Used to loop to an extra analogue or digital device.
2. ANT IN
Used to connect an antenna.
3. VIDEO (Yellow Connector)
Connect to a TV with video input.
4. AUDIO L/R (White/Red RCA)
Connects to a TV audio input, HD Monitors audio input or an External Audio
Amplifier.
5. YPbPr
Connects component video to HD Monitors (YPbPr Type).
6. DIGITAL AUDIO (S/PDIF / Optical)
Connects to an External Audio Amplifier with S/PDIF / Optical Digital Audio
(optional).
7. WIFI antenna
This Media Player has WIFI function. In the Network sub menu of the Setup Menu
you can configure the device to connect WLAN.
8. HDMI Connector
Connects
High-Definition Multimedia output to HD Monitors (HDMI Type).
9. LAN & USB
LAN: Connect to internet.
USB: USB port is used for viewing external files (MP3 files, Photos and Movies),
recording contents to an external USB memory device, playback of contents
recorded by this device and for software upgrades. (Software upgrades only when
advised by service technician.)
10. DC IN jack
This is used to connect the AC adaptor.

1.4 Remote Control Unit
All Media Player features can be operated with the remote control.
1. POWER: Press to switch between operation
and standby mode.
2. Info: Displays the information of the current
program.
3. Fav: Press to display Favorite Channel List.
4. SPECIAL FUNCTION KEYS: Special keys
designated for playing media files, or for
recording/playing programs to a USB drive.
5. Back: Press to return to the previous menu or
to exit from the current mode.
6. Up/ Down or Left/ Right: Changes
the channel or adjusts volume, moves the
cursor in the menu.
7. Recall: Press to return the previous channel.
8. MENU: Press to display the Main Menu.
9. V+/-: Adjust volume.
10. EPG:
Displays the Electronic Program
Guide. You can book a recording in the EPG.
11. COLOURED KEYS: Special keys
designated for special function.
12. Timer: Enter the Timer List menu. You can
book a timer event.
13. Audio: Selects the audio mode.
14. NUMERIC KEYS: Press to input Channel
Numbers, Passwords or Letters.
15. Timeshift: Enter time shift function.
16. MUTE: Press to mute the sound.
17. Aspect: Press to select aspect ratio mode.
18. Option: Press to enter the DTV option menu.
19. OK: Press to select the item in the menu or to list the TV/Radio channels (in DTV
mode).
20. ZOOM: 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x, 8x zoom the picture.
21. P+/-: Press to navigate to top and bottom of pages in channel list and EPG.
22. GOTO: Go to the designated point in a media file.
23. CC: Displays the subtitle information.
(Availability depends on broadcasters' services)
24. TV/RADIO:
Switch between TV or RADIO mode.

1.5 Installing the batteries in the remote control
1. Press down on the retaining catch on the lid of the battery recess on the remote
control and slide downward to remove the lid.
2. Insert two AAA batteries into the recess.
3. Replace the lid over the recess and gently push down on the lid and slide upward
until it snaps firmly into place.
Caution
1. Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
2. Do not attempt to recharge, short-circuit, disassemble, heat or throw the batteries
into a fire.
3. Always replace both batteries at the same time. Never mix new and old batteries
or batteries of a different type.
4. If you don’t intend to use the remote control for an extended period, remove the
batteries to prevent possible leakage and corrosion.
5. Do not drop, apply shock or step on the remote control.
6. Do not spill water on the remote control.
Note: If the Media Player does not respond when operating the remote control
from a close range, you will need to replace the batteries.
Using the Remote Control
1. To use the remote control, point it towards the front of the Media Player.
2. The remote control has a range of up to 7 metres from the Media Player at an
angle of up to 60 degrees.
3. The remote control will not operate if its path to the sensor on the front panel of the
Media Player is blocked.
1.6 Connecting to Equipment
CONNECTING THE SIGINAL
i. Connect your TV antenna cable to the ANT INjack on the back of the Media
Player using coaxial RF cable.

CONNECTING TO A HIGH DEFINITION TELEVISION (HDTV)
OPTION 1- High Definition connection using YPbPr cables (not supplied )
ii. Connect the YPbPr connectors and AUDIO L/R connectors on the back of the
Media Player to the COMPONENT IN on your television using RED, GREEN &
BLUE RCA-type YPbPr cables. (Note: RED, GREEN & BLUE Component
cables carry video signal only, you will need to connect other cables for audio
connection as well.)
OPTION 2- HDMI connection
iii. Connect the HDMI Out on the Media Player to HDMI In on the HDTV using a
HDMI cable (not provided).

CONNECTING TO A STANDARD DEFINITION TELEVISION
iv. Using the provided Composite cables connect the yellow plug to the
corresponding yellow socket on the Media Player and TV. Connect the AUDIO
L/R (WHITE and RED) lead to the corresponding white and red sockets on the
Media Player and the AV in sockets at the rear of the TV. Optional: Connect
Optical S/PDIF out connector on the Media Player to the Audio-Amplifier using
optical cable. (Instead of using L/R (WHITE and RED) RCA leads.)
Note: Please ensure that your TV is set to the correct input channel depending
on your connection type e.g. AV1, AV2, Component, HDMI etc.
Use the TV remote control to select the TV input channel connected to the
Media Player. Refer to your TV user guide or technical helpline if unable to
select the input channel.
CONNECTING THE POWER SUPPLY
vi. Follow the picture and connecting the AC adaptor to the players DC IN jack.
vii. Follow the picture and plug in the AC adaptor to the power outlet.

GETTING STARTED
First Time Installation
If you are using the Media Player for the first time or the unit is restored to factory
default, an Initial Setup menu will be displayed.
In the SETUP menu you can activate Auto Channel Search, set the time and set the
network parameters such as IP address in the sub menu Wired LAN Setup.
When scanning is complete, all active channels found will be stored automatically.
(If you want to stop scanning, press the BACK key to stop. The channels already
found will be stored).
Now you are ready to watch digital TV channels and radio broadcasts, or view
media files.
If you skip the SETUP screen, you can press the MENU key to display the main
menu then use the /► keys to navigate to TV&REC in the Setup menu, use the
▲/▼ keys to navigate to and highlight Auto Search in Channel Scan menu. Select
Yes and press OK to commence Auto Search.
This media player has WIFI function, when you turn on the player an icon will
appear on the top left hand corner of the TV which will time out after a short period
of time.
If the WIFI function is in normal state it will displayWifi Plug-in”.

2.1 INSTRUCTIONS
< Starting up for the First Time >
1. Turn on your TV and Media Player.
2. Channels should already be scanned if you have followed the initial setup wizard.
< Navigation in the main menu >
Main Menu
1. Press MENU
key to bring up the
main menu.
2. Press /► key to move left/right to
navigate through the sub menu options.
3. Press OK key to enter the highlighted
sub menu.
4. Press BACK key to return to the main
menu.
< Main Menu Information >
Main-menu consists of 6 major main sections, please refer below:
DTV This device supports high definition digital TV signal (DVB-T TV
system) reception and display. Select this option to watch digital TV.
File Manager In this menu environment you can view and manage multimedia files
stored on an external HDD or flash drive connected to the media
player and view multimedia files from other PCs on the network
from this portal.
Movies Select this option to view a list of movie files or recorded TV
programmes stored on the HDD or flash drive connected to the USB
input of the media player.
Music Select this option to view a list of music files stored on the HDD or
flash drive connected to the USB input of the media player.
Photo Select this option to view a list of photo files stored on the HDD or
flash drive connected to the USB input of the media player.
App Select this environment to view a number of internet applications
when connected by LAN or WLAN such as YouTube, real time stock
information, World Weather, Podcasts and other applications.
Setup Enter this environment to Setup and manage the functions of this
media player, there are six setup parameter sub menus “System”,
“Audio”, “Video”, “TV & Rec”, “Network” and “ Miscelaneous”.

2.2 DTV
This device supports digital TV signal (DVB-T TV system) reception and displays all
high definition and standard definition channels in your region.
The DTV functions are included in theSetup’ menu. We will describe this in more
detail in the Setup Menu section later in this manual. If you have followed the first
time setup guide digital channels will be stored and you will be able to view and
record digital TV.
While watching Digital TV you can select the OPTION key on the remote control to
display the menu on the right of the
screen.
1. Press OPTION key in DTV mode to
enter the DTV option menu.
2. Press / keys to highlight the sub
menu item.
3. Press OK key to enter into the
highlighted sub menu.
4. Press the BACK key to exit at any
time.
2.2.1 General TV Operation
Use the remote control in DTV mode to manage all the DTV operations.
Changing Channels in DTV mode
1. Press the NUMERIC keys (0 to 9) on
the remote control to select the
channel number.
2. Alternatively press the CH+/- keys on
the remote control or the front panel
to change channels.
3. Press the RECALL key to view the
previous channel selected.
4. Press OK to activate the channel list.
In the Channel List environment use the /keys to highlight a channel then
press OK to view the highlighted channel.
Volume control
Press the VOL+/- keys on the remote control or front panel to adjust the volume.

Mute
1. Press the MUTE key to temporarily mute the sound.
2. To cancel mute, press the MUTE key again.
Change screen aspect ratio
Press ASPECT key to switch between screen aspect mode options (16:9 /16:10
/Pan Scan 4:3 / Letter box 4:3).
Change TV/RADIO mode
Press TV/RADIO key to switch between TV and Radio mode.
View program info
1. Press INFO key to view the basic
information for the NOW programme.
2. Press GREEN key to display
extended description for the
Programme.
3. In the Extended Information
environment press the
keys to
toggle between extended information
for NOW and NEXT programmes.
3. Press INFO to exit Extended
Information view.
Subtitle Closed Captions (CC)
Press CC key to switch CC on/off.
NOTE: Captions may not be available for all programs.

2.2.2 EPG
Electronic Program Guides provide Extended programme information for all
channels for the next 7 days including extended information for each programme. In
this environment you can tag a programme to be recorded.
Press the EPG button on the remote control to enter the EPG environment.
1. To view the EPG information for a
Channel press PREV
or NEXT
buttons to select the channel.
2. Use the /► keys on the remote
control to select the date you wish to
view.
3. Press the / keys on the remote
control to highlight a programme,
detailed information for that
programme will be displayed in the
pane at the bottom of the screen.
4. Use the FF or REW buttons to scroll up and down the programme
description pane when all the programme information exceeds the size of the
display pane.
5. To book a recording simply highlight the programme you want recorded and
press the RECORD key on the remote control. A red dot will be displayed
alongside the highlighted programme and that timer event will be added to the
timer list. To delete the booking press the RECORD button again on the
highlighted programme and the red dot will disappear.
2.2.3 Edit
OPTION button -> Edit
In this menu, you can edit the channels
stored in the Media Player. (The default
password is 0000.)
Press ▲/▼ to select an item, OK to
active or cancel the setting.
Lock: Lock/unlock a channel. Locked
channels require the password to be
entered to view that channel.

Skip: If you tag a channel with the Skip function when navigating through the
channel list using the CH+/CH- keys the tagged channels will not be shown.
Favorite: You can add Favorite channels to a list that can be activated using the
FAV key on the remote control. Select the favorite tick box and press OK key on the
remote control to add the channel to the favorites list.
You can enter into the favorite list by pressing the FAV key while you are watching
TV.
Delete: You can delete the current channel. Be aware that this function can
completely delete the saved channel. When you delete a channel in the menu, the
channel is also deleted from the Favorite List. Press OK to continue with the
deletion.
Rename: Rename the channels. Use the▲/keys to move cursor to the Rename
item, then press OK key to enter the sub-menu. Use the ▲/▼/◄/► keys to navigate
around the keyboard and press OK to confirm letter or number selections on the
virtual keyboard. When you have completed the new channel name highlight OK on
the virtual keyboard and press OK on the remote control the channel name will be
changed when you view it in the channel list.
Swap: In this environment you can move a channel’s position in the channel list.
First press the ▲/ keys to select the channel want to move, then press the OK key
to exchange positions for the current and the selected channel.
2.2.4 REC
When a storage device like an external HDD or flash drive is connected to the USB
input of this media player you can record a TV programme by pressing the REC
button on the remote control. There are three record modes.
< Instant Recording >
You can, at any time, record a program
that you are watching by simply pressing
the REC key on the remote control.
An icon will then appear on the top left
hand corner of the TV screen which will
time out after a short period of time.

If you want to stop recording, press the STOP button.
Press the REC button again within three seconds to set the duration for the one
touch recording press repeatedly to select from 30, 60, 90, 120, 180, 240 minute
recording duration options.
< Schedule Recordings Using The
Electronic Program Guide (EPG) >
In DTV channel mode, press the EPG
button to enter the EPG window and
select a programme that you want to
record, press the REC button to set
scheduled recording, a red dot will be
displayed alongside the highlighted
programme.
< Timer Scheduled Recording >
There is a Timer Scheduled Recording function supported by your media player,
please refer to section 2.2.11 Timer.
2.2.5 Timeshift
OPTION button -> Timeshift
To pause the live DTV programme using Timeshift function press the TIMESHIFT
button on the remote control.
When the TIMESHIFT button is pressed, the system will pause and record the TV
programme in the background, if you want to play the programme again, press the
PLAY button to resume the programme. Press STOP button to stop Timeshift
function at any time.
In Timeshift mode, you can use the following functions: Pause, Fast Forward,
Fast Rewind.
2.2.6 Video Setting
OPTION button -> Video Setting
This setting is to adjust the values of the
video display to suit your personal
preferences.
Select Video Settings then press the OK
button to display the Video Setting
window.

Press ▲/▼ buttons to select an item, press /► buttons to adjust the value.
Brightness: 0 ~ 25
Contrast: 0 ~ 25
Saturation: 0 ~ 25
Hue: 0 ~ 25
2.2.7 Subtitle
OPTION button -> Subtitle
Pressing the CC button on the remote
control has the same effect as using this
sub menu item.
Use the ▲/ keys to select items, press
OK to adjust the value. Press BACK to
return to Live TV. (note: not all
programmes carry Closed Captions)
2.2.8 Audio
OPTION button -> Audio
Use this sub menu item to change the audio input source such as MONO L, MONO
R/STEREO.
The hot key equivalent to this feature is the AUDIO key on the remote control.
2.2.9 TELETEXT
If you have selected a channel that contains teletext data, press TEXT key to open
the Teletext menu. (note: the provision of Teletext in the stream is soley dependent
on the broadcaster)
2.2.10 REC file
OPTION button -> REC file
To view and playback programmes you
have recorded using your media player.
Use the ▲/keys on the remote to
select REC file in the option menu then
press OK to enter.
