for the rst time. As well as featuring tips and tricks, it also
includes the instructions for how to use this product. You should
therefore keep it in a safe place for future reference or for
when you pass on the product. The guide is an integral part of

permanent lter and the valve must be completely emptied
and cleaned after use.

Check all glass components regularly for any scratches or
cracks. If you nd any damage to the components, do not
use the product.

The product should only be used if it has been correctly
assembled! Check before each use whether the valve has
been attached to the water container correctly.
Protect the product from heat sources (e.g. a stove), naked
ames, sub-zero temperatures and impacts. In addition,
protect the stand from persistent moisture.
Use only original accessories from the manufacturer to
guarantee that the product works correctly.

Before Initial Use
1. Remove all packaging materials and any possible protective
lms used for protection during transportation.
2. Before you rst enjoy fresh cold drip coffee, we recom-
mend cleaning all components, apart from the stand, to
remove any possible production residues. To do this, follow
the instructions in the “Cleaning and Care” chapter.
Set-Up
1. Place the stand on a dry, stable, level and water-resistant
surface.
2. Place the longer side of the valve into the silicone plug.
3. Place the silicone plug containing the valve into the valve
opening of the water container. Twist the plug back and
forth a little if necessary. Make sure that it ts correctly.
4. Place the water container into the retaining ring of the
stand.
5. Place the coffee container into the coffee jug.
6. Place the lid on the coffee container.
7. Place the coffee jug down on the deposit surface of the
stand.
To ll the coffee container, we recommend removing
the coffee jug from the stand together with the coffee
container.

Preparation
Cold drip coffee is not just cold coffee on the contrary, this
special preparation method will provide you with a very special
taste sensation. The avours and oils are slowly extracted from
the coffee over many hours. As no heat at all is used here, far
fewer bitter compounds can be released from the coffee, which
means that the complex notes of the coffee can be displayed in
full and you can enjoy your favourite coffee in an entirely new
way: from woody to fruity, from earthy to chocolaty.
You will nd tips on dosage and preparation in our "Tips
for the Perfect Cold Drip Coffee" on the following pages.
1. Place the permanent lter in the coffee container. Make
sure that it ts correctly.
2. Fill the coffee container with the desired amount of freshly
ground coffee. Do not pour too much powder into the
coffee container as in due course it will bloom. And do not
press the powder down too much as otherwise the water
cannot pass through it.
We recommend 25 g of ground coffee per 250 ml of
water. You will nd more information on this in the next
chapter.
3. Moisten the surface of the coffee powder with a little water.
This encourages even extraction throughout the coffee
container.
If you use very coarsely ground coffee or a small amount
of powder, we recommend placing a paper lter on the
coffee so that the water can distribute more evenly.
4. Place the lid on the coffee container and then place it on
the coffee jug.

5. Place the coffee jug together with the coffee container
down on the deposit surface of the stand.
6. Fill the water container with cold water and ice cubes if
required. Make sure that the valve is closed before you pour
in any water.
7. Open the valve and adjust it to the drip speed you want:
Turn the dial for adjusting the valve clockwise to open the
valve further.
Turn the dial for adjusting the valve anticlockwise to close
the valve further.
We recommend roughly 1 drip per second. You will nd
more information on this in the next chapter.
8. Check from time to time whether the drip speed still re-
ects what you want and then adjust it if necessary.
9. Wait until all the water has run through the coffee contain-
er and permanent lter. Depending on the setting, this will
take approx. 2 to 4 hours.
10. Take the coffee jug out of the stand.
11. As many avourings will emerge from the coffee at the start
of the extraction and this will gradually reduce during the
extraction process, it is essential that you give the cold drip
coffee a stir before you enjoy drinking it.
12. You can now pour the cold drip coffee directly into your
favourite cup or store it in the fridge.

Tips for the Perfect Cold Drip Coffee
The perfect taste depends on many different factors – but
the most important include the coffee beans and the water
used. But the precise method of preparation also makes the
sometimes small but subtle difference.
Below we have summarised a few of the most important basics
for making coffee.
The Type of Coffee
Even if many factors play a role in the success of the perfect
coffee during cold drip preparation, the most important in-
gredient is of course the coffee bean itself. The taste differs
according to the type of coffee, the soil on which the coffee
was grown, the growing region and climate, and the roasting
process to which the coffee beans were subjected.
The maxim for really enjoying coffee is: quality and not
quantity! Cold drip preparation in particular preserves the
ne aromas of the particular coffee bean and therefore the
very unique avour of the coffee. When choosing a coffee
bean, it is therefore well worth reaching slightly deeper into
your pocket. We recommend gently roasted, light varieties,
as they contain few bitter substances and their own taste is
therefore particularly well preserved.

Grinding
Coffee loses its aroma quickly after grinding. To get the best
out of the coffee beans, we recommend that you grind
them just before preparation - preferably by hand. The
advantage of manual coffee mills is that the grinding ne-
ness can usually be adjusted in nitely and therefore more
precisely. In addition, the coffee mills can be cleaned more
conveniently, making it easy to switch between different
types of coffee.
The grinding neness is one of the decisive factors.
For the cold drip method, the coffee should be ground a
little more coarsely than for the French press. If you want to
be on the safe side, let a barista of your choice grind a small
portion of the beans and use this as a comparison when
grinding at home.
Dosage
To obtain a successful result, you should keep a close eye
on the ratio of coffee powder to water. If the water content
predominates, the coffee loses its taste. If you use too much
coffee, the coffee becomes too strong. We recommend that
you start off with 25 g of coffee per 250 ml of water. Of course,
tastes vary from person to person, so you need to get to know
your own ideal ratio.
The kitchen scales not only make dosing easier for begin-
ners, but are also used by the most experienced baristas.
You can use them to weigh the quantities of coffee pow-
der and water very precisely and so ensure the ideal ratio
between the two ingredients.

Water
Along with the coffee beans, water is the main component
of your coffee. You should therefore make sure that the
quality of the water you use is good. Since tap water is
often too hard, we recommend that you use ltered water.
For a particularly ne taste you can also use still mineral
water. Here, too, you should experiment, because not every
mineral water tastes the same.
In addition to the water quality, the water temperature is
also decisive for the taste of your coffee. You will get the
best results if you prepare the freshly ground coffee with re-
ally cold water. In addition to cold water, most baristas also
add ice cubes (which are likewise made from ltered water)
to the water container so that the water stays nice and cold
for as long as possible.
Drip Speed
The drip speed allows you to give your coffee that extra kick.
The slower the pace of extraction, the stronger your cold drip
coffee will be.
Depending on your taste, we recommend that you start with a
setting of between 0.5 and 2 drips per second and then adjust
it to suit your individual taste. The preparation time will then be
roughly 1.5 – 4 hours.
Connoisseurs will choose a very slow drip speed and then
allow the preparation to take a good 6 to 8 hours. This
produces a strong, avoursome coffee concentrate which can
also be enhanced with water if you wish.

Paper Filters
During preparation, all the coffee powder must be extracted
evenly even though the water always drips on the same spot.
Normally the coffee powder is soaked evenly and only releases
the absorbed water once suf cient further water has dripped
down. However, sometimes the drips may percolate through
the coffee powder too quickly and the coffee will not be wetted
evenly. This results in a less strong cold drip coffee.
Reasons for less absorbent coffee powder:
Coffee or grinds which are already slightly older
Coffee which is ground too coarsely
Very little coffee powder
The solution: Place a paper lter on the coffee powder so that
every single drop of water can be better distributed on the
coffee powder via the paper.

Enjoying Cold Drip Coffee Properly
Traditionally cold drip coffee is simply drunk purely with ice. But
there are also lots of other great ways to enjoy cold drip coffee.
We have summarised the most popular below:
Delicious iced coffee with milk (and a scoop of vanilla ice
cream)
Light alternative to lter coffee just heat afterwards
Coffee tonic mixed with tonic water
Coffee lime tonic mixed with tonic water and freshly
squeezed lime juice; also works very well with lemon or
orange juice
Gin coffee tonic mixed with tonic water and your favour-
ite gin
Coffee long drink with whiskey or coffee liqueur, grappa,
amaretto or something similar
Let your imagination run wild and experiment with your
favourite drinks.
Shelf Life
As soon as all the water has run through, you can enjoy your
cold drip coffee instantly. Simply give it a good stir and pour it
into your favourite coffee glass.
However, if you do not want to drink it all straight away, you can
store it in the fridge. Simply transfer it to a sealable vessel or
cover the coffee jug. If it is kept well chilled, cold drip coffee will
easily last for around 3 days provided you can resist drinking it
for that long!

Cleaning and Care
NOTICES
The glass components are not to be cleaned in the
dishwasher.
Do not use any toxic, corrosive or abrasive cleaning
agents or scouring sponges to clean the product.
This might damage the surfaces.
1. If you have not already done so, remove the lid and the
coffee container from the coffee jug.
2. Empty the coffee container.
3. Take the permanent lter out of the coffee container.
4. Take the water container out of the stand.
5. Wipe down the stand with a damp cloth.
6. Rinse all other components with warm water. If necessary,
use a little mild detergent to remove any stubborn residues.
Storage
Before storing the components you should clean them again
(see the "Cleaning and Care” chapter) to avoid possible
mould formation. Mould can cause spots and damage on the
product that can no longer be removed / repaired. When
all the components are fully dry, store them in a dry, clean,
frost-free place that is protected from direct sunlight and
cannot be accessed by children or animals.

This product is a real eye-catcher! Instead of storing it in
the cupboard, you can also display it visibly in your kitchen
for decorative purposes. Make sure that you choose a place
where the product is protected from children and animals.
And don't forget to clean all the ingredients before re-using
them - you don't want any dust in your coffee.
Warranty and Limitations of Liability
The following are excluded from the warranty: all defects
caused by improper handling, damage or unauthorised attempts
at repair. The same applies to normal wear and tear.
We do not accept any liability for damage or consequential
damage resulting from:
Failure to follow the operating instructions
Non-designated use
Improper or unsuitable handling
Repairs which are not carried out properly
Unauthorised modi cations
Use of outside parts or spare parts
Use of unsuitable additional parts or accessories
Keep the original packaging during the warranty period
of the product so that the product can be properly re-
packed if it needs to be returned. The warranty claim will
lapse if any damage is caused during transport.
