Parking Brake Actuator Motor
Removal
NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
RH or LH parking brake actuator motor
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview (100-02 Jacking and Lifting, Description and Operation).
2. NOTE: RH side shown, LH similar.
Disconnect the parking brake actuator motor electrical connector.

3. NOTE: If there is evidence of brake fluid found in or around the parking brake actuator motor a new brake caliper
and actuator motor assembly must be installed.
Remove the 2 bolts and the parking brake actuator motor. Discard the bolts.
Torque: 71 lb.in (8 Nm)

LH parking brake actuator motor
4. NOTICE: Due to minor differences in LH brake hoses, on some vehicles it may be necessary to disconnect
the brake hose from the brake caliper to provide enough clearance to remove the actuator motor. Do not
pry on or bend the metal portion of the brake hose or damage to the hose may occur.
NOTE: If there is evidence of brake fluid found in or around the parking brake actuator motor a new brake caliper
and actuator motor assembly must be installed.
Remove the 2 bolts and the parking brake actuator motor. Discard the bolts. If there is not enough clearance to
remove the LH actuator motor proceed to the next step.
Torque: 71 lb.in (8 Nm)

5. NOTE: Make sure that protective caps are removed prior to installation.
1. NOTICE: The blanking caps/plugs must not be removed until the brake tubes are ready to be
connected.
Remove the bolt and disconnect the brake hose. Discard the washers.
Torque: 26 lb.ft (35 Nm)
2. Remove the parking brake actuator motor.
RH or LH parking brake actuator motor
6. NOTE: RH side shown, LH similar.
Remove and discard the O-ring.

Installation
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
2. Install and lubricate the O-ring with the lubricant provided with the service kit.
3. NOTE: This step is only necessary if the LH brake flexible hose was disconnected.
Bleed the brake system.
Refer to: Brake System Pressure Bleeding (206-00 Brake System - General Information, General Procedures).
