Thank you for purchasing the NCH058 Banknote Counter.
We hope this note counter simplifies your daily work with automatically
counting money while identifying counterfeit currency.
In order to make best use of the Banknote Counter, please read this
manual carefully before using this device.

Troubleshooting
If any of the following error messages appear on the display during the course of counting, you
can fix them by using the following table:

Slant notes Press the RESETkey to connue the counng. Turn the adjusng screw clock-
wise.
Chained notes/
Double notes
Some banknotes are connected or overlapped, put the banknotes on the bank-
note holder back to the banknote feeder to count again. If EJ is oen displayed,
you can carefully adjust the vercal adjusng screw clockwise.
Incomplete notes Half piece or incomplete note. Remove it and press the RESETkey to conn-
ue the counng.
UV error A banknote is non-conforming in size, remove it and press RESET to connue. If
this doesn't work try adjusng the UV sensor.
IR error Counterfeit or suspicious banknote, remove it and press RESET to connue the
counng. Adjust the IR sensor. Lower the sensivity. Replace the IR sensor if
problems connue.
Magnec feature fail Remove the banknote and press RESET”. Clean the magnec sensor. If this sll
doesn't work then replace the magnec sensor.
Width error
Length error
Some banknotes are nonconforming in size, remove them and press the
RESETkey to connue.
Denominaon dier-
ent
Remove suspect notes, remove the counted notes and re-count.
Cannot judge denom-

Remove and re-count
Receiver stack full This means you have more than the maximum number (220) in the stacker.
Remove notes and re-count.
If the temperature is lower than 20 degrees , please turn on the machine and wait for 3
minutes before counting.
The machine should be operated at places with good ventilation and kept away from
strong sunshine and strong magnetic fields.
The power plug of the machine should be inserted to an electrical socket with safe
grounding.
The power supply of the machine should be within the scope of 100-240V.
Do not apply grease or any other lubricant to the inner workings of the machine, other-
wise parts will slide and counting will be inaccurate.

Please check that your banknote counter is in good condition and eve-
rything is present according to the overview below.

Note: For personal safety reasons please make sure the electric socket is
grounded properly.
Note: To avoid error counting/detecting please make sure the following
banknotes are eliminated before counting.
1. Banknotes mended with white paper.
2. Banknotes which have been washed
3. Banknotes which are covered in dirt.
4. Banknotes that are damaged or ripped.
Using the Banknote Counter
1. Before counting the banknotes, it is advised you remove all the notes
which have the above issues.
2. Put the banknotes in order of size, meaning largest at the back and
smallest at the front. (Figure 1)
3. Set the hopper guides to a suitable position based on the width of the
banknotes.
4. Put the banknotes on the banknote feeder flatly and the counter will
start counting. (Figure 2)
When a counterfeit or suspicious banknote is detected, the machine will
stop immediately and the buzzer will beep. The top piece on the stacker is
the counterfeit or suspicious one (Figure 3). Take out the counterfeit bank-
note and press the “RESET” key to start the machine again.
Note: When an error is detected, and
causes the machine to stop, please
re-count the banknotes.
Function keys operating instructions
1. Select counting code
Press the “CF” button. If the “CF” light is on, the machine will count the
quantity of the banknotes and detect counterfeit notes. If the “CF” light is
off, then the machine will only count the quantity of the banknotes and not
detect counterfeit/suspicious ones. The machine will stop when it identifies a
note that is different in width, when this happens, remove the notes that are
in the stacker and the machine will automatically resume.
2. Select currency
After turning on the machine, the symbol of the current currency is dis-
played on the left side of the control panel. If you need to count another
type of currency, press “CUR” key to change, the abbreviation for the cur-
rency will change.
“EUR” means Euro
“USD” means US Dollar
“GBP” means Pound Sterling
3. Select accumulative counting
When you need accumulative counting, press the “ADD” key on the control
panel and an indicator light on the left side will activate. After you have fin-
ished counting the banknotes the number displayed is the total amount of
notes that was counted.
When the number reaches 9999+1 the number displayed will be back to 0.
Select batch counting
If you wish to batch count, press “BAT” key. When pressed, the number 100
will be displayed where the currency was. The machine is now in batch
mode. The number that is displayed is the batch number, e.g. Batch number
50, the machine will count 50 notes then stop. Each time you press the “BAT”
key 100,50,20 and 10 will be displayed in turn, to turn off batch mode press
the “BAT” key again once when the batch number is 10. Press or hold the
“+1/+10” key if you want to have a custom number for the batch. Pressing
the key will add 1 and holding the key will add 10. the batch number can
be between 1 and 200. once the batch is completed remove the notes
from the stacker, and the machine will automatically repeat the batch pro-
cessing.
Select counting speed
Pressing the “SPEED” key will adjust the counting speed. There are 3 kinds of
speed, one press for low speed, two presses for medium speed and three
presses for high speed.
Note: We do not recommend selecting high speed when using the Sort func-
tion because it may reduce the accuracy of the machines function.

Operational Panel
Operation
Adjust the left and right hopper guide to the symbol for the currency you
are using. For example use the “” symbol if you wish to use this device
for counting Euro banknotes. Place the Banknote Counter on an even
surface and avoid direct sunshine. Plug the power cable into the back
of the device and then plug in the electric socket.
If you have purchased an external display, connect it on the back of the
device.
Turn the power switch on, the machine will display the software version
first in the operation panel, then it will perform an initial test. If the test is
successful, the machine will be ready to use. The test will spin the stacker
wheel before allowing it to come to a stop.
If any other symbols are displayed, please handle them according to the
troubleshooting guide.
Restore factory settings
1. Make sure the Banknote Counter is switched off.
2. Press and hold the “CLR” key and then turn on the machine.
3. On the display menu “dEF” will appear and above it -H-.
4. Press “RESET” key to save the parameter and exit.
Troubleshooting
Self-test error message and display solutions
The machine will automatically perform a self-test after being turned on. If any of the following
error messages are displayed on the display window, it is usually because the sensor is blocked by
banknotes or dust.

Cleaning
It is important to keep the banknote counter clean and clear of any dust and dirt. For best
results we recommend cleaning the machine by using cleaning cards. Failure to do so may
result in faults within the machines capabilities incorrect counting for example.
It is highly recommended that only approved Safehaus cleaning cards and swabs are used
to clean this banknote counter. Any use of unapproved cleaning tools may invalidate your
warranty.
Failure to clean the machine periodically may also invalidate the warranty.
