Preparation
Whilemowing,alwayswearsubstantialfootwearandlong
trousers.Donotoperatetheequipmentwhenbarefoot
orwearingopensandals.
Thoroughlyinspecttheareawheretheequipmentisto
beused,andremoveallobjectswhichcanbethrownby
themachine.
Beforeusing,alwaysvisuallyinspecttoseethattheblade,
bladebolts,andcutterassemblyarenotwornordamaged.
Replaceawornordamagedbladeandboltsasasetto
preservebalance.
Tororecommendsthatthemowershouldbesupplied
witharesidualcurrentdevice(RCD)havingatripping
currentofnotmorethan30mA.
Useonly1.00mm

sizeextensioncordnomorethan30
mlongsuitableforoutdooruse(ifapplicable).
Regularlyinspectthepowercordsforsignsofdamageor
aging.Replaceimmediatelyifdefective.
Donotusethemowerifanypowercordisdamagedor

Handling
Mowonlyindaylightoringoodarticiallight.
Avoidoperatingtheequipmentinwetgrass,where
feasible.
Alwaysbesureofyourfootingonslopes.
Walk;neverrun.
Forwheeledrotarymowers,mowacrossthefaceof
slopes,neverupanddown.
Exerciseextremecautionwhenchangingdirectionon
slopes.
Donotmowexcessivelysteepslopes.
Useextremecautionwhenreversingorpullingthelawn
mowertowardyou.
Switchoffthemowerwhentransportingitfromone
cuttingareatoanother.Stopthebladewheneveryou
movethemoweroffthelawn.
Neveroperatethelawnmowerwithdefectiveguardsor
withoutmountedsafetydevices(forexample,deectors
and/orgrasscatchers)inplace.
Switchonthemotorcarefullyaccordingtoinstructions
andwithfeetwellawayfromtheblade.
Donottiltthelawnmowerwhenswitchingonthemotor,
exceptifthelawnmowerhastobetiltedforstarting.In
thiscase,donottiltitmorethanabsolutelynecessaryand
liftonlythepartwhichisawayfromtheoperator.Always
ensurethatbothhandsareintheoperatingposition
beforereturningtheappliancetotheground.
Donotputhandsorfeetnearorunderrotatingparts.
Keepclearofthedischargeopeningatalltimes.
Neverpickuporcarryalawnmowerwhilethemotoris
running.
Pulltheplugfromthesocket:
wheneveryouleavethelawnmower;
beforeclearingablockageorremovingmaterialfrom
thechute;
beforechecking,cleaning,orworkingonthelawn
mower;
afterstrikingaforeignobject.Inspectthelawn
mowerfordamageandmakerepairsbeforerestarting
andoperatingthelawnmower;
ifthelawnmowerstartstovibrateabnormally(check
immediately).
Iftheextensioncordbecomesdamagedduringuse,stop
themower,removeplugfromthemainssupply,and

to20N-m.
ServicingtheOn/OffandBlade
BrakeSystem
Themotorandbladearedesignedtostopwithin3seconds
afteryoureleasethecontrolbar.Ensurethatthecontrolbar
functionsproperlyeachtimebeforeyouoperatethemower.
Ifthebladedoesnotstopwithin3secondsorthereisa
grindingorscraping,metal-to-metalnoisewhenyourelease
thecontrolbar,contactanAuthorizedToroServiceDealer.
Thissamerecommendationappliesifyouobserveheavy
vibrationswhenusingthemower.
